"Ck, stop drinking wine!" Alastair snatched the glass bottle that Luz was holding haphazardly. "It's been the seventh bottle, you know."
"What is your business?" The girl's face flushed red, talking bounces between consciously or not. "Oh, yes. I borrowed your money first huh, Grand Duke."
Alastair sighed.
After Luz walked out of the brothel earlier, her expression was completely unreadable. So quiet yet —according to Alastair— is flat and a little tense. After getting the money back, Luz even failed to realize his desire to cut off the nine fingers of the thief like his absorbent vow.
Miraculously, Luz divided the stolen money and gave half of it to thieves with advice to stop bothering others.
The calculation suddenly gave selflessly. Really weird.
Finally they returned to the wine shop that Alastair wanted to show. Along the way Luz just kept quiet, answering his potluck if Alastair asked. It still happened until they sat in one of the left row seats, while Luz was still pensive.
And here they are now.
"Something happened in that place?"
Luz looked at it. Digging into topaz's eyeballs deeper and deciding to trust him to share the story.
Slowly he nodded.
"Your friend works there?"
"No."
"You're being harassed?"
Luz chuckled, "It could be thinking like that."
"That's, isn't it, dirty place." Alastair raised his shoulders. "Or did you meet someone?"
"Lessly more. Yeah." yeah."
Alastair looked at him deeply. "What Ochonner?!"
"No!" Luz replied with a look of annoyance and then hit Alastair on the shoulder even though the man did not move at all. "My return is not typical of such a man."
"Then who?"
"That curiosity can kill you sometimes, Grand Duke." Luz ordered another bottle of wine and poured it into a glass. "Eh, you want to?"
Alastair moved his glass and Luz filled it with the wine he was holding. Ha, drinking just a little will not be enough.
"I've actually been close to the crown prince."
Alastair stopped his movement. "Who? I didn't hear it clearly."
"Crown son."
"Crown prince?!" Alastair observed Luz's expression and the woman looked completely honest. "Prince Evandre?"
"Who else." Luz slumped his head on the table. "Thanks to the thief, I know all the rottenness of the Crown Prince."
"Let me guess. You caught him in a brothel with another woman?" Alastair drank his wine in one gulp.
"More or less like that. Hah, Grand Duke, am I crazy? Wasting time on behalf of a brain jerk guy*********** seems like it?" Luz let out a weary sigh, "About the king's son, he dares to do his best. Flirting with women, isn't he afraid of getting sick?!"
"Actually such a thing is common to our circles," he answered honestly. "Why did you decide to withdraw? The crown princess' seat can't be obtained twice."
"He doesn't really love me." Luz smiled bitterly. "If I become queen when she has just received love from another woman, it does not rule out the Crown Prince himself who will lower my office by divorcing me for his love."
"I studied in famous comics." Luz re-drinks his wine like a thirsty man. Forgetting the hunger, the woman continued to mutter at the unclear.
Alastair frowned, "Comics?"
"Ah, people like you have never read it." Luz approached, "A book like that only exists in my day."
"Squeaky. What is the difference with today" Alastair was worried when he saw Luz back pouring wine. "Don't drink anymore, now we're home!"
Luz resigned himself as the Grand Duke withdrew his hand after putting the money on the table. They came out of the tavern, but luckily Alastair remembered there was a shortcut from here to Ochonner's mansion.
"Grand Duke, why are you still unmarried, hm. Rich, handsome, and successful. What else are you waiting for?"
Alastair smiled faintly as the praise shot out from Luz's mouth while his sturdy hand still held Luz's hand to keep the girl from walking away from him.
"You're old too. Ochonner will soon marry his fiancee."
That instant too Alastair's smile faded. What old?!
"Not all women are like your mother. You should be able to tell which ones are truly sincere and which ones just want your wealth." Hiccups came out of his mouth. "I tell you a secret. If you want to test a woman, try to be frugal with her. Why do I say that? Because seeing from your high position they must want many treasures as expected. Just a week, and watch their attitude change for you. Ah, don't be long, you'll know later if you try."
Alastair turned his head with a frowning forehead, from where did this woman know of her mother's troubles?
Given that, Alastair could only smile bitterly.
"Lady Odyssey, if I liked you, what would you do?"
"Currently, I can't believe there's such a ridiculous feeling in men." He grunts. "I'm a nearly married woman, Grand Duke. Almost, if I hadn't dealt with the crazy guy who brought me here."
"Oh yeah?" It feels pretty crazy to talk to a drunk person but some say a drunk person will talk honestly. "Who's the crazy guy you're talking about?"
"Crazy witch, who's 'yes her name ..." Luz put on a thinking pose. "H, Manuel. Yeah, there it is, Manuel!"
Alastair thinks Luz is just talking nonsense. Shaken faintly, the man decided to keep his mouth shut until Luz spoke again.
"My future husband, Erickson. What's he doing in New York?"
Alastair had no idea how he felt by himself now. Who is Erickson, isn't the Marquis of Galilee who almost married her a few months ago and ended up failing. Alastair knew many Lords and leaders both inside and outside of Sormenia, but none of them were known by the name of Erickson.
As Alastair knew, Marquis Thompsville was unlikely to marry his daughter to an ordinary man without noble status.
"Where do you know Erickson?"
"He used to be my high school friend and continued until he became a college friend" Luz said. "We were only dating two years ago almost married. Awesome, right?"
High school's?
The campus?
The longer, the more Alastair did not understand. Which place in the world it is, he doesn't know. But one thing he believed that; Luz was telling the truth.
This may have gone crazy, but since Alastair's mind always questioned the essence of Luz's story that he knew was very different from the Odyssey story.
And the craziest question just came out of Alastair's mouth. "Actually who you are, you're not the real Lady Odyssey, are you?"
"There's finally someone who knows who I am." Luz laughed heartily, "Congratulations, Grand Duke. You're the first to know!"
Alastair. After knowing everything, he .. didn't know what to do.
"I'm Lovely Anderson" she continued. "It's nice to meet you, Grand Duke."
