Sleeping Beauty Wants The Throne

Sleeping Beauty Wants The Throne
72. Trying to Forget the Past

"Your Majesty, Cornelius asks permission to face you."

Alastair who was finishing his task turned his head and nodded briefly. Although it worked, but his mind was still floating at the time of the incident where Luz's disappearance, absolutely could not escape from his brain. Before long, the sound of a meeting between the boots and the marble floor was heard approaching. Cornelius bowed respectfully, then looked back at his lord.

"What's up, General?"

"I got word from the officers that the town for the witches was finished" he told reporters. "What do we do next?"

"If the place is safe, I will contact Sir O'Leary as soon as possible" Alastair said. "We can't pass this information directly to the witches. Their clan lives on the move, in the forest, and is unpredictable."

Cornelius nodded in understanding. "Is there anything else to add, Your Majesty?"

"On peace," said Alastair then pay attention to his interlocutors. "Recruit new patrol troops to stand guard in the city. The crime rate is still unpredictable, fearing that unwanted things will happen."

"I understand."

"All right then."

Cornelius handed over a parchment of the inauguration of the city of witches. Alastair opened it, paying attention to the details of the city plan, the arrangement, and the buildings. But of all that, there was one empty column left. The city has no name. Alastair then returned to voice.

"The City of Arcarus."

Cornelius blinked, "Yes?"

"I named it the City of Arcarus. At the time of the announcement of the opening, then we announce this name in public," continued the emperor again and put the royal seal on the new pen scratches he incised on the parchment.

"Okay, Your Majesty."

He handed over the parchment. "Copy. When you're done, this real parchment returns it to me. The other one please leave it to Sir O'Leary. In the new atmosphere like now, it's better for him to return to lead the witches."

Cornelius received the parchment back carefully. Come to think of it, it really felt like the task was more fun after Alastair who took over Sormenia. Fun because this is the field that Cornelius mastered. Just think about it, which person would hate a pleasant figure like this one emperor?

"You can get out."

The man bowed respectfully, "Thank you, Your Majesty," he said obediently before stepping out of the room. Leaving Alastair back in solitude and a stack of unfinished documents.

Speaking of the matter of the witch, Alastair suddenly remembered the witch he had met some time ago in the western forest. A witch and a child.

But one thing made Alastair get a bright spot. He immediately opened a drawer located next to his desk. Purple jade. The magician's gift is still neatly stored in there. Alastair grabbed it, noticing the intricate carvings that adorned the jade surface.

"Crack that rock and you can play with time in one try."

He remembered the words of the witch. As if getting a way out of the unease that had befell him for a few days, Alastair was finally able to smile faintly.

"Let's try how this thing works."

"Your Majesty."

The soldier standing at the door came back in.

"Duke of Lances's permission to face."

Exactly it. Unrequested, the person he needs comes alone.

"Hurry, get him in."

Alastair has never been this hasty in doing anything.

Night after night passed, not feeling the moon change. There have been many things and changes that have happened to Luz. The make-up company he plans to give to the grandmother. I don't know..every time I see the little things arranged on the table, it feels like Luz is back to remember the good times he had his own shop in Brighton. How did Rose — who was last seen close to the Earl of Travis— and also how the state of his people. Everyone there really miss Luz. Especially the emperor.

In New York, everyone is professional. They are rigid and will only interact if necessary. Luz doesn't have the same feelings for the people here except for her father and Denise.

Hah, Luz doesn't know. Until when can he release those beautiful memories.

"Dad you think you need a vacation."

The usually silent atmosphere of the dinner was suddenly startled by Ken's statement which made Luz look up.

"Your body is healthy, but I know your mentality is not ready at all" said the middle-aged man wisely and then returned to drinking his water. "Are you tired of New York? What if trying to manage our branch company in Amsterdam. Ah, if you mind you can choose whichever company you want to run."

"Yeah, managing a family company isn't bad. Isn't that also my father's wish for me to continue the family legacy?" Luz smiled faintly. Right, he's the sole heir to the Kebely Group. It would be impossible to bestow leadership on others if not him. "It's enough to play around with my hobby as a makeup artist. Now I'm going to seriously try to continue the glory of our family, father."

Ken stopped his movements wanting to pick up a plate of pudding. Staring at his daughter with a proud look. "Dad didn't think you were an adult. Knowing where your obligation as sole heir is, it really makes me happy. Not that I don't like you struggling in the world of makeup. I mean ... Your selfishness, Luz."

Ken smiled gently. "Your selfishness is gone. This way I don't have to worry about your future."

"I'm going to take over our company in Ukraine" Luz said, stabbing half of his remaining spaghetti. "And about the holidays. How about the beach?"

"Beach?" Ken nodded in agreement. "I heard that the Los Roques beach in Venezuela is amazing. I've never been there, but I'm sure you'll be satisfied to see it."

Luz frowned, "Huh, where did your faith come from if you never went there?"

"I heard it from people."

"Yes already. Rather than just listening to people's words, it's better that you come with me too."

"It's not that easy, little girl," replied Ken amusedly. "My schedule is still tight for the next month. Waiting for me in a month will definitely be a long time. Already, you go alone too I don't matter."

Luz scowled, "Dad will miss the golden opportunity."

"I have no regrets. That's a businessman's risk."

Luz snorted and it certainly did not go unnoticed by Ken.

"Now, don't be angry. Get there, don't forget to bring me something, okay?"

"Something you need?"

"Holy. If you can find the rich."

"Dad!!"

Instantly Ken widened to glance at his daughter who was now reddened held back in annoyance with a sharp glaring gaze as if ready to pounce on her.

About Alastair want to try his jade to the Duke of Lancess first or what, is there anything that can be guessed?🤔

Btw, do not imitate his father Luz even though he is good, but his brain is still the brain of money and it is common for business people. Doesn't care what his son wants to be, what matters is the company of the road. Remember, the protagonist is not only right his life—eh.
