Sleeping Beauty Wants The Throne

Sleeping Beauty Wants The Throne
43. Wait for Me to Come Back, Don't Miss!

It was the eighteenth box. Luz sighed so that white smoke blew from his lips. As predicted, today snow began to fall from the sky. Morning still feels like night, pitch dark and of course cold.

Once again the white woman tightened the coat she was wearing. Turning around, watching the happy expression of the Brighton people's non-bustling after accepting their jobs. For the first experiment, Luz only allowed adults to join him. Aside from the extremely cold weather, she did not want to take any unexpected risks if the children took part.

Jason Alexandre as head of commerce approached towards Luz. For a moment he glanced back at the crowd. "Milady, I saw boxes of makeup near the dock. Do you want to try selling it outside Sormenia?"

Luz nodded, "The plan is so," he said gamang. "I haven't asked Grand Duke for permission. However, the business I own is still in its territory."

Jason understands. "Do I need to help you by asking the Grand Duke for permission?"

"Just me!"

Hearing Luz's amazingly quick reply certainly left Jason a little surprised.

"I mean ... after this I'll meet the Grand Duke so there's no need to bother," Luz continued with a smile as stiff as the board.

"Well, milady." Jason looked respectfully. "If there's a problem, please call me."

Luz nodded stiffly after Jason left to help people who were still confused by the way the product was sold. Luz let out a long breath. Not blind, the woman knew that her attitude towards the Grand Duke lately had slowly changed somewhat.

But ... Yes, Luz did miss him a little, lastly the man drove him to the store and if counted.

Hey, Luz. What are you thinking?!

Luz's reflexes patted her own head and then grimaced. Damn it, if he knew that his heart would turn around like this, it was already a long time ago that Luz would avoid the Grand Duke.

"are you dizzy, Crystal Lady?"

Luz turned his head and glared, "Grand Duke, why are you here?!"

"Here's a public place, is something wrong?" asked Alastair astonished. "Ah, yes. All of you I want to thank you. Your creative ideas have helped me a lot."

"I am too. Thank you, Grand Duke. If you don't offer a job here maybe to this day I've died of boredom in the manor house."

Alastair smiled mockingly, "Excess."

Luz raised his shoulders. "Well, I'm a free woman. Sitting sweetly in the house while waiting for my husband to come home is not at all typical of me."

Alastair. Suddenly he asked a question. "Is your job done?"

"The last box has been delivered." Luz pointed to several stack of boxes that would be delivered to the dock. Although the goods are limited, but Luz wants to see how enthusiastic people are about his new product. "What's wrong?"

"Follow me."

Alastair pulled Luz's wrist away from the crowd who were still busy talking. Some people noticed their closeness and whispered softly. Perhaps soon rumors about the relationship of the Grand Duke and Crystal Lady will spread among socialites.

Luz watched her interlocking hands. Back when they first met, the Grand Duke was uncomfortable with this kind of condition. He doesn't like touching. But now it was precisely this man who pulled his hand first.

"You owe me an explanation."

Luz looked up, feeling judged as Alastair stood looming in front of him sitting on a small bench in the corner of the store.

"What explanation, nothing to explain" Luz said, trying to stand up.

"Want to run, hm?" Alastair lowered his head, his hands locked Luz's wiggle room until the woman inevitably had to sit back with her eyes colliding.

"Who and where are you from."

The Grand Duke's question sounds easy, but not for Luz. He stared at the topaz bead deeper and weighed, between telling him or not.

"Don't you know who I am?"

"I need a detailed answer, Love."

Luz almost choked. He just called your real name, Luz. There is no meaning, his heart cursed.

"What do you know?" challenge Luz with raised eyebrows and folded hands in front of the chest. "The world I'm from has nothing to do with you, Your Grace."

"Why?"

"Because I'm your future husband."

"Damn it!"

"This mouth is so sassy." Alastair watched Luz's lips with an annoyed look. "More times I'll punish you if you come back to curse."

"Grand Duke, let go of your hand." Luz tried hard so that Alastair's hand that locked next to him could be released. "People like us can misunderstand."

"Let them misunderstand. Besides, their misunderstanding doesn't reduce your money either, does it?"

"It's not about the money, but my reputation is at stake." Luz looked at him in annoyance then watched the surroundings with caution. I hope no one passes near here.

"I live in New York, USA working as a senior make up artist. Salary is almost hundreds of millions a day, often appears on talk shows and has a potential husband who I accidentally left with suddenly lived here, satisfied?"

"How did you get here?"

Then Luz's explanation flowed quickly and he decided to speak truthfully without covering anything up. Sometimes Alastair showed a bitter expression, then smiled and understood.

Until he raises a question that makes Luz kelu.

"Love, answer me according to your heart. Do you still ... love your future husband?"

Luz knew Erickson who incidentally her future husband in New York was not a day two days but a dozen years. And in those dozens of years, there have been many moments that make his little heart explode happy. They feel needed, valued, and Erickson is serious about their relationship.

But since knowing the Grand Duke .. all those feelings of a dozen years are slowly disappearing. Luz does not know Alastair completely but a sense of security and comfort sometimes tells him to stay with this man.

Is Luz wrong?

"I ..."

"Grand Duke, help me!"

Both Luz and Alastair turned towards the small street next to the shop and they stood together. A mid-thirty-year-old woman looked panicked, her face paled and ran over.

"Grand Duke, my son has not returned since three days ago," he said with tears almost dripping. "What can I do now. His friends don't even know where he's going."

"Where did your son tell you where he was going?"

"The last time he asked permission to go to the market," he said frustrated. "There was no news after that."

Alastair suddenly recalled the strange items that could not be opened like the report the Duke of Lancess mentioned the other day. What is possible ....

"I'll investigate, don't worry." The woman's cry broke until Luz was concerned and helped win her over. "Go home and calm yourself."

"I believe in the Grand Duke." The woman rubbed the corner of her wet eyes. "And also the Crystal Lady. I hope you can lead us. There's been a lot of lost children and no one knows where they are now."

As per Alastair's orders, the woman turned around to go to her house still feeling worried. Luz stared softly at that frail back that was getting away. Although she had never felt what it was like to be a mother, as a woman, she also felt the same pain.

"Sorry, Love. This time I can't take you back to the mansion. There are a few things I want to talk about with the Duke of Lancess so I have to leave now."

"No problem, I understand his condition." Luz smiled faintly. "Do I need to tell your people to stay home until things get back to normal?"

"Good idea." Alastair patted his shoulder slowly. "For a while, I entrusted Brighton to you, wife-to-be."

"Omong empty!"

"i'm serious. Want proof?" As fast as lightning Alastair stole a kiss on Luz's cheek then ran before the white woman went berserk. From far away he showed a big smile. "Wait for me to come back, don't miss!"

"Alastair fool!" as Luz called him without the title of Grand Duke as usual.

Slowly Luz's smile rose and he held his own cheek.

Ah, it's clear. Besides being bad for heart health, the Grand Duke is also not good for his increasingly minimal sanity.
