Sleeping Beauty Wants The Throne

Sleeping Beauty Wants The Throne
5. Dinner With a Newly Hypocritical Family

The dinner atmosphere was quiet. There is not a single sound of the twang of a spoon that collides with a plate or knife like in restaurants in general. All members of the de Cera family are trained to eat. Luz tried to follow their very aesthetic style, but several times failed until the worst he accidentally nudged the sloki to pieces on the floor.

Marquis Thompsville was there but he didn't do much. The old man simply shook his head with a flat expression or occasionally frowned in annoyance. A little bit bothered by the way Luz faced his dinner plate.

My biggest sin was letting the Odyssey eat together when there were guests visiting, Marquis Thompsville thought furiously.

After dinner, the dishes were quickly cleaned again by the servants until the table was empty again as usual. Not long after, they returned to serve dessert that made Luz tempted to try everything.

"When did you wake up?"

The first question was launched by the Marquis while cutting his milk pudding gracefully.

But from the question, Luz thought it was just a small talk so that the Marquis seemed to love all his children. Hypocritical.

"So morning. No need to worry, I'm not offended that you guys didn't visit me at all so just keep your apologies," Luz replied casually.

Athene almost choked and the Marchioness glared sharply. Ha, don't get me wrong Luz already knows where the direction of the conversation the Marquis wants considering there are now guests from outside the manor house who come to sit down to dinner with them. He wanted to protect his image as a high nobleman, but don't think this white girl would be silent. This is Luz's chance to prove that he is not a weak and obedient person who can only be subdued by shame when humiliated.

"What are you talking about, son. I feel guilty for not seeing you on time. Next time we have to spend some time together, hm. How's it?"

Quietly Luz smiled obliquely. Marquis Thompsville loved to play dramas. If in a former life, a man like Marquis is more suitable to be a soap opera player than a noble.

"Of course I agree as long as you also agree to stop comparing me to Athene or any other noble lady."

At the end of the table the Marquis cleared his throat awkwardly but the Great Marchioness immediately took action to protect her husband.

"Baron Lanscouth, there's something special for you. Try the snack we gave you today. By the way, this snack is certainly more special than other snacks because it uses very quality raw materials." He smiled with a big smile.

"The quality of the honey is different, the marquis family is great in choosing food," praised Baron Lanscouth while enjoying honey pancakes.

"The stone was bought by our Lady Athene. He is very talented in choosing the best!" The Marchioness looked at Athene proudly. Athene is his most precious little gem.

"really?" Baron Lanscouth was amazed and turned towards Marquis Thompsville's second daughter. He tried to interact with all members of the famous de Cera family without any intention of degrading anyone. "How about Lady Odyssey?"

"He's hard to learn and kind of slow. No problem, Lady Odyssey is still in the learning stage," the Marchioness replied concernedly.

After vilifying himself to the bottom of the abyss, this witch pretended to be encouraging her daughter again? Disgusting.

Athene glanced cynically at Odyssey and puffed out her chest proudly. The first princess de Cera is the most ideal woman as the best son-in-law, at least that's what people think when they hear her name.

Baron Lanscouth has a son, Clairon. But Athene was not interested. Compared to the other bachelor nobles, Baron Lanscouth's son actually had an extraordinary visual. Her hair is gray and also has a firm jaw. But Athene did not want her degree to drop drastically to become a Baroness if she later married the son of a handsome Baron. Maybe if Athene was married, she could have made Baron Lanscouth's son his mistress.

The standard is to have at least a marquis-titled husband who is on par with his father or better yet; duke.

Marrying the Grand Duke of Brighton is heaven. Point.

"I'm not slow, ma'am. Mother alone does not know how my development because it is always busy with all the affairs of Athene. Give me a month, you'll know how far I can go" Luz said.

"Don't pretend to be great, stupid, no matter how much you try, you're nothing compared to me!" sahut Athene is angry. Since this afternoon his anger has been pent up and now everything is exploding.

But this is the wrong time to spout anger. Indirectly Athene destroyed her image as a lady especially because Baron Lanscouth now look at him surprised as if not expecting that the most phenomenal lady can yell at his sister who is still learning. It's beyond a doubt. Initially Baron Lanscouth had paid great attention to Athene in order to be his son-in-law but ... Baron quickly swallowed his wish.

The haughty woman and wanted to win by herself, what if she was already a great mistress later on? Perhaps the Baron's residence will be mastered in an instant.

"It looks like our dinner is over, what if we're talking about the western farmland in my office, Baron Lanscouth?" bring Marquis Thompsville fast.

"Oh, it's true that I've forgotten what I mean to come here" said Baron Lanscouth and chuckled.

"Come," asked Marquis Thompsville to get up from his seat first and then Baron Lanscouth followed him from behind.

"Come to my room, Odyssey. I need to talk to you" said Selene de Cera, better known as Marchioness Of Thompsville as soon as Baron Lanscouth left the dining room.

Athene smiled triumphantly. Who told Odyssey to dare to fight him. See, now the Marchioness herself intervened for her disrespectful deeds and most likely she would be punished.

"Yes, I'll be there but later after I make sure some things in my room are in place or not." Luz stood up and lightly stepped towards the exit.

"What do you mean the makeup you ask for?"

Luz's steps came to a halt and he turned around, "Just right. I need powder or lipstick, no problem either. Uh, but please don't equate mine with Sister Athene's lipstick, too red as a blood-eating vampire."

"Ody!"

"Joking. slow, don't be too serious, brother. Later your face will wrinkle quickly if you shout at all times," Luz replied with a laugh.

The Marchioness immediately raised her hand to keep Athene calm. The woman's expression did not change or piqued, she again said, "Just come to my room. We'll also talk about the makeup you want."

"Mother," call Athene down. He did not accept if the Odyssey could have the same goods as himself.

"Well, I'll be there in a minute" Luz replied casually and continued his steps away from the room.

"Notice your attitude, Athene, don't get angry easily at his words. Your sister's acting weird, which is why I invited her into mom's room to make sure what made her like this." The Marchioness was still staring at the door Luz had passed through when he came out earlier.

"Will mom punish him? He's already humiliated our family in front of Baron Lanscouth!"

"Maybe," the Marchioness replied briefly and ambiguously. "Even mother will give him a punishment that Odyssey will never forget for the rest of his life."
