"Grand Duke's not in place, Milady."
Again, Luz got the same answer from the servants in the Grand Duke's castle. He ruffled his head, actually where was that person?!
"Did His Grace say where she was going?"
"Itu—"
"I heard someone was looking for me."
Coinciding with Luz who turned around, the Grand Duke he had been looking for had now stood towering right behind him. Aha, that's right!
"We need to talk."
"Do you want to talk about our marriage, future wife?" Alastair chuckles when he finds Luz's face turning as red as a tomato. "Come with me."
Luz glanced around. True too, it would not be nice to discuss their marriage in a crowded place like this even more so in front of the castle courtyard. Ah, Luz himself does not understand, is the relationship between himself and Alastair only limited to marriage .. politics?
Nodding, Luz finally followed Alastair's steps into the storied castle.
He had to make sure, what the purpose of Alastair to dare to take a big step by marrying her. That way Luz won't be misplaced.
Not funny, right, if Luz loves the man in front of him this when their relationship turns out not to be a real husband and wife. Just playing a role. Just imagining it made Luz smile wryly.
"You ... when did you come to my father in Thompsville?" Luz stroked his forehead slowly.
Feeling that there was no one around, they stopped in a room under the stairs. Quite a secret place, considering it would be a long way off if they were to speak in the Grand Duke's study.
"So morning. I took Ochonner with me, "he answered honestly.
Luz nodded in understanding. It was fitting that his durhakanya twin did not show the trunk of his nose since this morning, even Ochonner missed breakfast.
"Thank you for helping me, Grand Duke. With our marriage, the Crown Prince won't dare to bother me anymore."
Alastair nodded small. "No problem."
Some time ago, Alastair already knew everything, about Evandre's plan that would use the king's word in order to marry himself to the Crystal Lady. With or without Luz's consent, all of that must be done.
About the marriage decree itself, nothing could stand in his way. Whatever the position of the person. Unless one of the spouses has become the fiance of another before the decree is handed down, then the decree can be declared lost its validity.
"Then what about you?"
Alastair looked at Luz. Deep. But the woman did not give up and continued to ask.
"Actually what profit do you want to take from this marriage?"
"Odyssey ...."
Luz stared. Complicated. "Tell me what your goal is, Your Grace."
"Should I have a purpose to do something?"
"Of course it should be because in this world, there is no such thing as meek—"
Luz's words came to a halt when Alastair suddenly lowered his head and fused their lips together. Just a kiss, nothing more.
But this succeeded in making Luz petrified.
"You are right, in this world no one knows meekness. Mutual killing and cheating are common." Alastair approached, playing with Luz's hair hanging beautifully. "But after knowing you, I finally got to know something more beautiful than meek. You know what?"
Luz did not answer. The woman still felt shaken but the curiosity of Alastair's next speech was what made him willing to open his mouth.
"W-what?"
With a sincere smile that was rarely seen on him, Alastair replied, "Love. I hope you're not angry let alone ban myself from this feeling. You asked me my purpose, right? This is my real purpose. Marrying you for love is more important than anything else. I don't need a throne or anything. As long as you're willing to spend the rest of your age with me. That's more than enough for me."
"Alastair." Luz stared right inside the man's topaz eyeball. So clear and sharp, Luz could not detect the lies within. Could Alastair be telling the truth?
"Say, Love. Do you feel the same way about me?"
"I ... don't know."
"I'm not forcing." Alastair tried to smile knots but he failed to do so. Luz knew the man was in love and heartbroken at the same time.
But Luz was not so sure of his own feelings. He doesn't want to lie to anyone.
His outstretched hand gently stroked Luz's white mane. "There's still some work to do. It's good to see you in my castle, Crystal Lady."
Alastair then turned around and left Luz standing alone in the room. Following in which direction the back was moving away, Luz swallowed his saliva with great difficulty. Oh, fine. Now this political marriage is going to get harder!
Alastair turned around for a while, raising his eyebrows, he said, "This time maybe you haven't been able to accept me. But tomorrow? We don't know. Just look at it later and I'll make you fall to the ground."
That's a statement or a .. curse?
What surprised Luz even more was why he could turn one hundred and eighty degrees. In the past, when Luz held his hand alone Alastair would overreact. But now?
He dared to steal a kiss!
Meanwhile without anyone knowing, Alastair hurriedly stepped into a random room. Closing the door and leaning right behind it.
Rubbing his reddened face to the ears, Alastair muttered lowly, "Ah, shamefully. What I just did."
...----------------...
"Your Majesty, the Crown Prince has permission to face."
King Izaikhel put his pen back on the table. The bottom of his eyes that displayed tired gurats seemed to be looking straight at the door. Nodding, he finally gave permission to Evandre.
"Send him in."
Before long the man who looked like his figure while young appeared in the doorway. After the door closed, Evandre approached him, bowing respectfully.
"Long live, Great King Sormenia!"
"What's up, Crown Prince?" reply Izaikhel quiet. He knew that this coming of his son must be something he wanted.
Dismissing formal manners, Evandre got back up and chuckled. "Dad knows me very well."
"You are my son, of course I know you more than anyone" Izaikhel stared back at his son inside. "Tell me what you want."
"I want a woman."
King Izaikhel smiled in anguish. "Are the women in the brothel still not enough for you, Crown Prince?" satirical sharp.
Honestly, Izaikhel as a father felt like a failure when he knew how bad his son was when he was far under his supervision. Evandre his son is not an arbitrary person, he must be able to build a good image in the community so that during the process of his appointment as king in the future does not experience problems.
But what Izaikhel could hope for. Without him knowing, his illegitimate grandson was almost born out there if the Grand Duke had not helped him deal with this matter.
Ha, isn't that unfair? Evandre is the one who acts but it is precisely Alastair who is responsible for helping solve all his problems.
Izaikhel was disappointed. Hugely.
"I want a legitimate wife" Evandre replied without a second thought. "I know you can do it for me."
"Oh yeah? Who's the woman who caught your attention?"
"Crystal Lady, second daughter of Marquis Thompsville. The Lady Odyssey de Cera. I want it, dad."
Izaikhel blew up his laughter that echoed inside the room. He stood up, walked up to his son and patted Evandre on the shoulder with a proud look.
"I didn't expect it, but it turns out you already understand the concept of politics. This is my son, if that's what you want, it's easy. I'll pass down the royal decree to the Thompsville family!"
Evandre nodded in satisfaction. Honestly, he did not really understand the political concept as Izaikhel said. He only wanted Odyssey as his wife. His, that's all. No one should touch that woman, especially the lucky Grand Duke who was close to the Odyssey.
Evandre was satisfied. Alastair ... this time let me be the winner, he cheered in his heart.
