Sleeping Beauty Wants The Throne

Sleeping Beauty Wants The Throne
61. First Movement

Unlike normal nights, for tonight the blood-red moon seemed to burn ferociously above the sky. The night beasts that usually dominated, were now reluctant to let out a whimper. Instead they choose to hide among the dense wilderness. Meanwhile thousands of troops had already started moving towards the palace.

No one trusts the royal family anymore. In an instant, Brighton turned into a city filled with children. Of the entire region, only that place was arguably the safest for them. Unasked, the adult who could take up arms volunteered as a soldier. His number had even far exceeded expectations, determined to help the Grand Duke to the point of the ultimate blood.

If everything had become one voice like this, it would not be regretful if Alastair took the throne now.

For the people of Sormenia.

Alastair who rode in the front troops looked gallant using copper armor decorated with silver robes fluttering behind his back. The black horse mounts are no less charming when the short mane of the animal is waving when stepping feet. To the right Ochonner rode his favorite white horse. And on the other hand, Luz also rode with an appearance that is far from feminine.

The woman also wears armour. His white hair was neatly curled and then covered using a cloth that was linked along the cheekbones so that only his amethyst bead was visible from the outside. With those clothes, his identity was hard to recognize. Luz, the only woman who participated in tonight's rebellion movement, was also one of the people who had a major contribution to Sormenia. And on his shoulders perched sweet an eagle that sometimes chose to fly glaring between the darkness of trees to trees.

When they reached the east gate, Luz turned around. "First squad please enter first to calculate the strength of the opponent. If the amount is less, please turn on the fireworks as a signal. For the second army, they would rotate through the west gate to have the people inside besieged. Make sure the south and north doors are locked tightly before there's a command, okay?!"

"Yes, milady!"

Alastair took command. The first army only contained a hundred strong men as bait.

"Groan!"

Ochonner and Alastair were among the hundred. The Grand Duke couldn't talk much with the woman he had been missing for those few days. They looked at each other, until Alastair finally entered the gate after Luz gave him the code to follow the others.

In his eye gesture, Alastair seemed to have said, 'Be careful, I don't want you to get hurt in the least.'

"The team is divided in two. The rest of them, hastening towards the west gate before the first troops set off fireworks. When the first troops enter through this gate, the Authoris will soon come to watch. So for that, get ready!"

They simultaneously drove the horses towards the west gate. The terrain that is traversed fortunately is not too difficult. There are only a few muddles that sometimes make horse legs slip in the dark of the forest. Nevertheless, Luz was even more relieved after hearing the horse ringing from the front.

The Southern army of seven hundred thousand had arrived in the darkness of the night. General Franklin Whitney. Lady Esme Whitney's grandfather was standing in front of her army.

"You've arrived, sir."

"Well, I can come on time because there are no obstacles at all." The general stared at the large west door that stood firmly not far from them. "When are we going in to help the Grand Duke?"

"Patience." Luz watched the still-empty sky, along with his unwavering premonition. But alas, there has been no sign of fireworks going off. "Wait for me."

...----------------...

Alastair felt the security of the palace so loose, as well as its luxury that it seemed to completely fade along with the death of the old king. Even the golden lights that usually hung in the main hallway had gone missing somewhere. This certainly attracted Alastair's suspicions increasingly surfaced.

They decided to split up. Ochonner headed for the highest place in the palace just in case, fearing that the opposing forces would suddenly burst into flames and there was no time for the others to light fireworks.

This kind of technique was done so that the enemy could not predict the many warriors that the Grand Duke had. When they thought the number of opponents was only small and decided to fight without using any meaningful items, that was where the relief force would help the first troops scorch the palace.

Meanwhile, Alastair walked down the hall to the throne room, the place that sounded the most crowded among other rooms. Alastair pressed his ears against the door, faintly hearing the conversations of several people one of whom he believed was the voice of Evandre.

"Lusa I want to be king. Must. In return, you're free to kidnap anyone who wants children or adults I don't care."

"Of course." Another sound was heard. "According to the census, the number of Sormenia's people had also exceeded the limit. So there's no problem, right, if your population is reduced a little bit as our meal?"

Alastair. Authoris people .. turns out they not only drink the blood of small children but they can also do the same to adults.

"Your Majesty, why did you give up a child before if you finally allowed us to drink adult blood?"

Exactly it. That was what Alastair asked.

"I actually have a lot of kids out there." There was a slight ruckus for some time until Evandre resumed. "I want you to kill the little ones so that all my children may die before they grow up. For fear that the presence of the illegitimate children will trouble me in the future."

"Remember, little children are your main target" Evandre continued. Be assured.

Alastair clasped tightly onto the handle of his sword. His hands shook, holding back anger when he heard the curse spoken from Evandre's lips. In a single pull, he drew out a sword. Breaking through the door of the throne room that was now wide open caused the people inside to simultaneously turn to the origin of the voice.

"Grand Duke, what are you doing here!" His teeth were grinding, his hands clenched at the sides of the agarwood chair he was sitting on. "How darn!!"

"That word should be for yourself, Evandre. You're still an unrecognized crown prince, but why don't you just sit on the most honorable seat?" reply Alastair intense.

Once again, the strangeness happened. Since when did the throne turn to wood? Even though it is made of the most expensive wood, it is still very suspicious. Whereas before the king's chair was made of pure gold which had a fantastic price.

"Speak as you please. After this say goodbye to the world." Evandre gives a wicked grin. "My team, I changed my mind. From tonight you can enjoy the blood of anyone you want."

As he sat on the highest chair away from the floor surface, Evandre pointed towards the front using his feet. "Electron. The Grand Duke of Brighton. Have fun!"

In an instant, Alastair felt a different aura billowing out at the place. Everyone looked at him hungry. It was as if he wanted to separate Alastair's head from his body as quickly as possible and suck his blood to nothing.

Many people fight one. Does Alastair still have a chance to gaze at the sunrise tomorrow?

Or the odds are bad; he'll be dead. Tonight.
