Sleeping Beauty Wants The Throne

Sleeping Beauty Wants The Throne
59. Set up a Strategy

The bell placed on top of the door rang as someone pushed the door and entered the store. Luz who happened to be relaxed because the customers he had handed over to his subordinates turned to the source of the voice. He immediately stood up when he found out who the man inside the straw hat was. With an eye gesture, he led Cornelius into a secret room hidden inside the shop.

Cornelius was amazed to see how Luz opened the secret door. The woman pulled a chandelier stuck to one of the walls. At a glance, there is no difference between the candelir and other candelir. Everything looks the same.

Luz pulled his lever down and instantly the sound of walls rubbing against each other filled their auditory senses.

Before long, the wall split. Paving a path leading to a dark room at the other end. Luz entered followed by Cornelius. In an instant, the wall closed again as if there was never anything there.

After the door closed again, the room sounded quieter. Only their footsteps sounded as if they were unpretentious as they climbed the dry floor. The road is made downhill, and for sure this place is a basement.

When he passed through the hallway, Cornelius saw that there were several doors closed. Luz opened one of the doors located in the middle of another room. Inside there, a man was sitting waiting on a dragon-studded chair that swerved ferociously.

Alastair.

"Welcome, Believer of the crown prince" Alastair said. The manic cannot be separated from Cornelius, to observe his expression that may be awkward. But the man remained flat, showing no reaction whatsoever.

Good. Alastair could believe it.

Because if Cornelius was a spy, his expression couldn't possibly be that calm. Alastair knew many people in this world, he would not be fooled.

"Then just say what you want to say." Alastair realized that Cornelius had glanced at Luz who was sitting on one of the sofas. "You don't mind if Crystal Lady comes along?"

"Of course it doesn't matter" Cornelius replied quickly. "Just for some big deal, usually women don't take part."

"You doubt me, sir?" Luz chuckled, not offended by Cornelius' subtle remark that he should not interfere. "If you fight using force, then I will fight using reason. My advice if you want to survive, never once underestimate the snake without poison. It did not bite, but they could be wrapped around his opponent's body to death. You understand, right?"

If you can't kill using a sword, then Luz can kill with a strategy without knowing the word surrender. Keep that in mind.

Luz has arranged for a stratagem. Just wait for the play time.

Cornelius's eye glint sharpened. He glanced in horror, not expecting that the future wife of the Grand Duke would be as terrifying as the leader. While Alastair looked at the two people in front of him with a slanted smile engraved on his lips.

"Then I've misjudged." Cornelius gave a faint smile a sign of peace. Right, he could not underestimate the Crystal Lady. "Please forgive me for not being good at this."

"Just explain. Is it true again that the crown prince did all this?" Luz opened his voice, shooting right at the target.

Cornelius nodded slowly. He took out a golden box and a wine bottle that he had previously kept behind his back. "These two items are the strongest evidence I got in His Majesty's room this morning before the investigating team came to inspect."

Cornelius touched the end of the wine bottle. "This thing I got at the casual table. From the information of the servants who stood guard, that night Lady Clausie was indeed with His Majesty chatting while drinking wine. But there were some discrepancies because I saw two cups on the table, which meant that Lady Clausie drank wine from the same bottle. If the poison originated from this wine, why was only His Majesty affected?"

"But who did it, hasn't diket—"

"Crown Prince." Alastair was satisfied when he realized Cornelius' face was staring at him. "I already know. And I hope you won't lie to protect that spoiled man."

"I'm not evading." Cornelius took a long breath. "That's why I came to you, Your Grace. If all this evidence I leave it unanimously to the crown prince, there's no need tomorrow for him to kill Lady Clausie in front of everyone."

"But I still doubt you." Alastair stared coldly. "You're the one, why did you suddenly turn around and want to join me?"

"I'm His Majesty, not the crown prince." Cornelius's hands clenched. "If not by the order of His Majesty the king, I would not be the right hand of the crown prince. Now, the most beloved person His Majesty actually stabbed his own father from behind. Grand Duke, do you think I still deserve to stand next to the crown prince?"

Luz simply kept silent, listening to the two people's conversation carefully while thinking of the proper strategy before attacking the palace.

Alastair shook his head, "You don't deserve to stand next to him. Cornelius, you deserve a higher glory than that."

"I think so too" he answered honestly. "Whoever is behind His Majesty's death, I will not grant him any mercy."

Cornelius simply did not know that the real mastermind behind the death of King Izaikhel was the one sitting in front of him. Nodding casually as if there was no problem at all.

"Loyal people like you are hard to come by. Cornelius, what if we work together?" alastair at the end.

"What can I gain from this partnership?"

"If we manage to coup the palace, I won't mess around." Alastair smiled mysteriously. "Are you interested in the commander-in-chief?"

Being a commander-in-chief is certainly a great honor. In addition to soaring family names, Cornelius certainly will not be confined in the care of one person only. His talent was a sword, killing was his favorite and the smell of carnation was his spirit. Not just standing all day in front of the crown prince's room, announcing who came to visit, and trailing wherever he went like a eunuch.

Cornelius would not waste a chance.

"Then I feel very respected." He bowed his head, as a sign of the early respect of a subordinate to his leader. "You can search for me if there is any information you want to know. Whatever it is, because the palace is no longer a foreign place to me. It's just .. Now we need a strategy."

Alastair glanced back, right towards the sofa. "Crystal Lady, do you have any ideas?"

"There certainly is."

Luz standing. Spread out a white cloth on the table and take out a pen that he had previously dipped in ink liquid. "Let me explain one by one so that the gentlemen can understand."
