The Wiz

The Wiz
Chapter 17: The Show

The seven Palace higher-ups were already seated in their respective seats, facing towards a stage that would be the place where the disciples showed their abilities. The views of the disciples, could not be separated from the seven people. Mostly, they stared curiously. Curious about what their criteria are in choosing the appropriate magician.

The atmosphere grew even quieter, as Azura was on that stage. Showing a friendly smile, after bowing respectfully to the seven people before him. They are truly honored like gods.

"Alright, everybody. As always, we're going to start a show of ability. For those who can make the Palace Lords, can get the opportunity to become part of the Palace. Without waiting any longer, I will let you begin to show your abilities. Those who hold the number one sequence, are welcome to advance to this place," Azura said at length. The disciples turned to each other, looking for who was the one holding the paper with the number one. It happened for a while, before a young man stepped up with a drop of sweat visible on his forehead.

Sighing a few times, the young man named Zerce tried to eliminate the nervousness that suddenly attacked him. He stood firmly, staring fixedly at the top of the Palace.

"Alright, lads. Please start," Azura said back. Zerce nodded in understanding. He closed his eyes again, then opened them slowly after his two irises turned green.

Slowly, he began to bring out plant tendrils from his body. The tendrils of the grass-like plant crept up, began to spread around it, then stopped moving. He again focused his mind on the plant that had spread. Slowly, the plant returned to move however, growing upwards. The plant forms a body. Being a weak plant.

Some disciples stared in amazement at the man's ability. Although it is still a weak ability, it takes a lot of energy to be able to make a human figure from the power they have. It can be ascertained, the young man can immediately fall unconscious if too imposing. One of them is like this, where Zerce began to control the plant man with his mind.

And it's true. There was not yet a minute, Zerce started to look deathly pale. On his face was pouring with sweat drops. He was exhausted, but tried to keep pushing himself. At a time like this, everyone admits that it was the most annoying moment. How not? The teachers who could help the students not to run out of energy were strictly prohibited by the higher-ups. Not to mention, if the disciple could not make awe out of the mouths of the higher-ups. All held himself in a chair, until Zerce fell unconscious. Only then did Azura signal to take Zerce's body to the infirmary.

Camoline grunted softly. Both hands folded, as if he was already very bored with the show that had only happened less than an hour ago. He glanced at the paper the stranger was holding next to him. Number 12.

"That number coincides with the boredom of the higher-ups. I'm sure, this time no one can satisfy the higher-ups." The person next to him looked. His forehead shriveled deep. Between not understanding, and being curious. "There should be someone who can kill them" Camoline said.

"So, should I try to kill them, instead of showing ability? Wouldn't that make me a fugitive?" asked Aris in annoyance. Camoline turned her head flat to the side, so even though Londer was only for a moment.

"Stupid. Your strength will never be able to touch a single strand of their hair," Camoline looked back to the front to pay attention to the next participant, "at least, you only need to attack them. As powerful. At least get them to pull out a protective shield" Camoline exasperated. Aris did not ask again. He thought well of Camoline's words. Although half of his heart refused to accept the advice of the girl, but the words he heard made sense.

"Well, I'm going to make a strategy from this second on" Aris said. Camoline glanced, then snorted softly. He immediately ignored the man he just knew named Aris. Due to being too focused on his mind, he had forgotten about his ability to retrieve information from everyone's memories. Error, almost everyone.

"I saw... You gave her that number. Why?" Camoline turned to look at Londer.

The three people were again busy with their own thoughts. Or maybe, Londer and Camoline who have the same busyness, which is to pay attention to the students who are on the stage. Some people, may regret the decision of the two students who suddenly became famous throughout this academy, if they find out that none of them participated in this event.

Londer on the grounds, did not like the people in the Palace, and Camoline who still did not want to explain, why she suddenly did not join the event.

Probably, about half an hour after the event started. No, this feels even more. In fact, the sunlight outside the room, managed to enter through the window of the room which was in the highest place. Indicates, when time has passed so quickly. Also, it was clear that the officials of the Palace showed their bossy look. Although there were already quite a number of students who had fallen for trying to comfort them.

"When I pay attention to this, I feel like they're entertainers who fail to do their job" Camoline's monologue is heard clearly in Londer's ears. The man chuckled, rubbing Camoline's hair gently without any resistance from the girl.

"From the beginning, I felt it. It can be said, this is one of the reasons I never intended to attend this kind of event," said the man. He smiled, as Camoline nodded her head. Until, the views of the two meet.

"The fool who entertains people—"

Dhuang...

The heads of the two immediately turned towards the stage, where the explosion occurred. Smoke billowed, blocking people's view. Until, after the smoke disappeared completely, they could sigh in relief because nothing was broken. Although they only lasted for a moment the relief, after their eyes found a blue protective shield. The intermediate level shield.

Camoline straightened her body. He grins thinly. Apparently, there are others who have the same plan as him. Although he did not expect, that person was Rashi. The girl who had refused to train with him.

Rashi had just attacked the seven men in front of him all of a sudden. Who would have thought, if the higher-ups were to pull out a blue shield. Justifying the location of his glasses, Rashi began to take out a flute from behind the suit he was wearing. His eyes met Camoline's eyes before touching the flute's tip with her lips. The girl grinned meaningfully.

Now, Rashi understands. What was the reason Camoline asked him to train together. A little regrettable, but did not want him to show, especially in front of Camoline. Maybe the girl is getting bigger.

Rashi started blowing the flute. Now, the room was heard by a beautiful and melodious melody. His eyes slowly opened, as he began to successfully incorporate a force in the melody he created. His forehead shriveled slightly, as he looked at Camoline's slightly raised hand.

"DORNE! WHAT IS THIS GIRL DOING!!?"
