Chapter 48: News

"Camoline, can we talk for a second? It's important."

It was a sentence that Londer said in the afternoon when Camoline had just finished with her last class. Azura Class. The girl looked at Londer confusedly, but her head still nodded. Making Londer instantly sigh in relief. The two returned to tidy up the tools that had been used, then walked out of the room together. The two returned to being the conversation of the students who were currently in the same class as them. They talked about how rumors that Londer and Camoline had quarreled had appeared and were finally refuted by their closeness back at this time. Camoline could hear it. Of course because they speak in a loud enough voice.

"Follow me. This is an important conversation" Londer whispered to Camoline beside him. Camoline nodded. He followed Londer in front of him. Camoline was indifferent to what the people were talking about right now. Because if he explained what the truth was, they wouldn't care. People are only interested in assumptions they believe in.

Londer turned his head towards Camoline who was walking behind him. Without saying anything, he immediately pulled Camoline's hand for the girl to walk right beside him. Londer did not let go of that hand along the way. Make the people they pass directly whisper to each other to talk about the pair of children Adam.

Both of them just stopped in a quiet loronga. Londer looked around, before he finally stood in front of Camoline and took off his hand.

"I hope you remember our plan to tell Zelden something." Camoline was silent for a moment before her eyes opened wide. As a result of what happened to him after the attack and the loss of one of the elements, Camoline almost forgot this. He was too surprised and focused only on what happened to himself.

"I almost forgot about it" Camoline said softly. Londer smiled faintly. He rubbed Camoline's head, bringing the girl's attention back to him.

"No problem. The incident was beyond our knowledge" said Londer calming. Camoline was silent. He has regrets, quite a lot. Because at that time, he met Zelden several times. Even have a time where Zelden is alone. It's a good time to tell what Londer knows in his house.

"Then, are we going to tell Zelden what happened?" ask Camoline with excitement. The Palace's plan must of course be delivered immediately, so that Zelden can tell him what to do if the Palace's higher-ups come to the Academy again all of a sudden.

"Yes. There are new things I want to add as well. So come on, let's go to Zelden's room before dinner" said Londer. Camoline nodded strongly. Straight away, the two disciples walked towards the room Zelden was in. The sooner the better, before terrible things happen again and force them to abandon the intention of telling this to Zelden. Besides, Camoline was curious, what new thing Londer would say to Zelden. Because it seemed, Londer had no intention of telling himself first.

Camoline glanced at Londer who was beside her. They walked side by side, like before. Not a single word came out of his mouth, not even Camoline. Camoline looked back to the front and took a slow breath.

"It's us, Camoline and Londer" Camoline said after knocking on Zelden's door. Both of them had arrived at that desolate passageway. Zelden's room was indeed quite far from the other room. It is as if hidden and away from the crowd.

Not long, Zelden heard him speak from within. The sound of an open key was heard, making Camoline and Londer turn at the same time on the keyhole under the doorknob. Afterwards, Londer opened the door to the room. Unlike what they had imagined before coming here, they had not only found Zelden in the room alone. In the room, there was Barcus and also Delwana. They were sitting in their seats, with Zelden, as usual, always in his chair. The presence of Camoline and Londer to the room makes the atmosphere feel increasingly quiet and gripping.

"I think it's quite a secret conversation" said Londer. He slightly glanced uncomfortably at Delwana. Also occasionally glanced towards Barcus. Delwana is too foreign to him. It's not because this is the first time Londer has met the teacher. But because Delwana's presence in these talks would be very awkward and foreign.

"It's okay. Mr. Delwana is on our side, and so is Barcus" Zelden said. The glasses were still on his nose. He was scribbling sheets of paper with black ink. For a moment, the room went back to silence. Zelden lifted his head.

"Of course Barcus will be on our side, because I will curse him to be an earthworm if he dares to defect" Zelden said. He smiled mischievously at Londer and Camoline, then looked at Barcus who was looking at the Brother in annoyance.

"You sure?" This time it was Camoline who spoke up. It doesn't matter if there is a Barcus. Because Barcus himself had even known about the Opal stone inside his body. Not like Londer who doesn't know anything. But Delwana, still very foreign to Camoline. He has many doubts.

"Why should I doubt?" Zelden asked back. He put away the paper he had just scratched into the other table beside him. The ink and pen were put back in place, then his gaze was fixed on the two young men who were still standing.

"Please tell me what you want to say, Mr. Chromos. I'm responsible for the secrecy of this news" said Zelden, who tried to convince Londer. Londer turned to look towards Camoline. His face showed quite a clear doubt. Camoline could catch that easily.

"Tell me," Camoline said in a whispering voice. Londer sighed slowly. He has no other choice.

"In the next week, the top officials of the Palace will come back here" Londer said. His words made as the old man in the room instantly frowned.

"What are they going to do here? And also, why do we— the guru— get this news?" Delwana is going slowly. The visits of the Palace officials to the Academy are always through prior notice. It's always been like that for years. Not just to give time for the Academy to prepare a welcoming ceremony. But to make sure also if the Academy is not in any exam period so that the teaching-learning schedule will not be disrupted.

"There has not been a single letter from the Palace during the past week" Zelden said, adding to Delwana's suspicions and confusion. However, Zelden said so calmly.

"Because they did aim to come suddenly to find Opal stones in this Academy." And this sentence made Zelden unable to remain calm. Everyone in the room, did not expect that Zelden would immediately give such a reaction because of the words of Londer just now.
