The Wiz

The Wiz
Chapter 18: The Show (2)

The beautiful melody was still sounding softly in the ears of the disciples, making some of them drift away in the rhythm that Rashi made. However, all of that was different from what the seven higher-ups of the Palace felt. There is no such thing as a beautiful rhythm in both of their ears. There was only the sound of a terrible song that made their ears hurt. No, not an insult, but that's the truth. The melody produced by the flute in Rashi's hand, was attacking their sense of hearing.

The same thing should happen to the students. Forehead Rashi shriveled inside. It was certain, there was someone who put up a high-level protective shield so that his strength could not affect those disciples. His head turned towards the teachers. No, not one of them did. Seen from the look of the face of confusion they put.

His gaze shifted, staring at the disciples. Once again, his eyes met with Camoline's. The flute was lowered, with eyes still fixed on the black-haired girl. For some reason, since their meeting, he felt that there was something strange about the girl.

Camolina. A surname-less girl from the clan, who had suddenly become the center of attention of the people in the academy. Because the power that the girl possessed increased in a short while. The girl, just displayed her strange smile. Makes Rashi unable to guess what the girl's head is.

"You really have good skills, miss."

Chief Rashi lowered his head, noticing the seven judges on the show. He put the flute in his pocket behind his suit. Staring calmly, after trying to ignore the questions that were cropping up in his head.

"I didn't think I'd get an attack like that" Deus said. Staring at Rashi with twinkle in both eyes. Apparently, the man was really happy that something was killing his sense of boredom. "Although, having to sacrifice these two ears of mine," he said without depriving the man of happiness.

Rashi has no intention of saying anything. He believes, there are still things that will be conveyed by one of them for the attack he did. And the fact is, it is.

"You're right. I never thought I would meet one of the members of the Harmony clan. It's very exciting, if one of you can join forces to become a Palace witch" Pedion said. Only those two people, who look so interested in the power that Rashi has. As for the others, just staring at him flatly.

"Thank you for the praise you gave to this student at our academy" Azura said. He touched Rashi's soft shoulder, making the girl turn her head with her flat gaze. "Go back, they'll discuss whether you're welcome or not." Rashi nodded in understanding. He bowed respectfully to the seven Palace higher-ups before walking down from the stage.

Some people still noticed Rashi's footsteps before the other students took the stage. In an event like this, there would indeed be no one to guess, anyone who would participate. Glancing towards the pair of disciples that once electrified the academy, curious looks were seen on the faces of those who were watching the two. Ask in your heart whether the two people will participate or not.

"It's my turn now." Camoline glanced for a moment. Not expecting, the person next to him would immediately come forward. Ignoring the person next to her, Camoline chose to lean her head against Londer's shoulder. No, he did not intend to be a spoiled figure on the man who had already claimed over him. However, he tried to focus on retrieving some information about the Chromos clan. Because of what he had observed, he could take more information without being noticed when coming into contact with an opponent.

He should know more about the Chromos clan. He slightly regrets his old life, which was completely closed to the outside world. Instead of enjoying his youth, he used to busy himself learning some spells or secret magic techniques from all the clans—which at least he could practice—although only a little progress he got from his activities.

"You okay?" ask Londer. He was really surprised by Camoline's behavior, although in fact he was also happy. Camoline knows that. Because, Londer's body had stiffened before it managed to calm down again. Even now, the man rubbed his head gently. Despite the discomfort, Camoline chose to let it go. He kept trying to focus more and more on reading Londer's mind.

"You won't be able to read my whole mind, Camoline. A little surprising, you can do that secret technique," said Londer, leaving Camoline's eyes wide open. Slowly, he straightened his body with his head turned towards Londer with a frown on his forehead.

"Since when, have you noticed it?" insist Camoline. Londer smiled. He did not answer immediately, and chose to pull Camoline's head back against his shoulder.

"Not long. Like, two weeks after our fight? I don't know, I can't say the answer for sure." Camoline took a deep breath. It seemed, he had to make a list of people he could not penetrate. Or rather, he did not need to use that power. Because it really drains his energy.

"Rather than stealing information like that, why not just ask me directly?" ask Londer again. His eyes stared softly at Camoline who was watching the stage lazily.

"You won't be able to answer anything I ask. Never mind, I'm tired of thinking." Londer chuckled softly. Both are not aware, if there is still someone who pays attention to both. This time, he looked in annoyance at the two people.

"Are you a pair of mate? The behavior of the two of you really makes both my eyes sin," said Aris. Camoline straightened her body, looking at Aris with her eyebrows raised next to her. However, it was obvious that he was upset.

Hey, who said he was someone destined for Londer? The gods must be sleepy if that is the truth.

"We are indeed mate, as you say," Londer smiled as Camoline stared at him intently, "that has become a known thing in my generation, senior," he said calmly.

Aris snorted loudly. He immediately threw his face forward. Shit, mind. For some reason, he hated seeing such a scene. No, he wouldn't have possibly liked that strange girl he had just talked to. He was just upset, someone was making out next to him. Moreover, it was a new batch of disciples. No manners, though.

Camoline sighed slowly. He stared at Londer for a moment before throwing his face away. Mate is not something that is easy to say. And Londer, saying that was so easy. As if, they were indeed a pair of Adam's children who were destined to be together by the Gods.

"I didn't expect your words to be a reality" Camoline said. Londer shrugged his shoulders unconcerned. Camoline did not agree or even God did not agree, she would still choose this black-haired girl as her partner. Selfish? That is his nature.

"But you will only be mine" said Londer making Camoline glanced at him sharply.
