The Wiz
Chapter 43: The Secret of the Explorers

Carlus arrived at his house when it was almost midnight. The meeting took a long time, and there were about three meetings that he had to go to earlier. The meetings were very important and quite secret, so they were held at night. When everyone chooses to stay in their homes and rest.

Carlus got off the train that was taking him. He bowed slightly and showed a smile to the coachman who had delivered him. Although Carlus is not sure whether his smile will be seen or not. After the chariot left, Carlus turned his back. He walked into the yard of his house that was not too wide. There are no flower plants that decorate the grounds. Only the green grass was cut very neatly. Carlus was not someone who was quite happy about the colorful plants, and Camoline could not possibly keep an eye on the growth of all the flowers if she planted them.

"How's it?"

"Miss has dinner. After eating her dinner, Miss went to the library and is still there to this day" the waiter reported Camoline's activities as long as Carlus is not home. Carlus nodded his head in understanding. He opened the coat that covered his body and handed it to the maid named Malina.

"It's very late" said Carlus slowly. He took a long breath.

"Save that into my work space. I'll see my son's condition first." Marlina leaned over and walked towards Carlus's study. After being left alone, Carlus walked to the library. He wanted to see if Camoline was still in the library as her servant had said or was already in her room. A feeling of worry was certainly perched in Carlus' heart at this moment. He was worried that his daughter would fall ill if she had not slept too late at night as she is today.

Carlus walked towards the library without any difficulty at all. He was very familiar with the ins and outs of his home, so that the dim light did not make it difficult for him to step. When he got to the front of the library room, Carlus just walked in. The sound of door creaking could be heard echoing inside the room full of the book.

"Oh, are you home?" Carlus took a slow breath. He smiled and returned his feet. Camoline's still in the library. He was reading a pretty thick book. And on his right was a pile of books that were also thick. Looks like those books are what Camoline will read as well.

"Father just came home," said Carlus as soon as he arrived right in front of Camoline. Camoline nodded and smiled. After that, he went back to reading the book in front of him.

"Why not sleep?" carlus asked curiously. His eyes also moved watching the books that Camoline was reading at this time. It looks familiar, but Carlus can not remember clearly what book Camoline is reading.

"I'm interested in reading all this, so my sleepiness is gone. It's okay, isn't it?" Camoline. Carlus remained silent for a while before a long sigh escaped from his mouth.

"Staying is not a good thing for your health, Camoline. Remember, your body has only recently recovered. You have to rest a lot." Camoline lowered her head. He knows of course about his body. Also still remembered the advice of the doctors at the Academy who forced him to take plenty of rest during the holiday period. Because according to him, the condition of Camoline's body has not fully recovered and will easily fall back ill.

"I knew. But I still want to read all of this" Camoline said in a soft voice. Even so, Carlus could still hear it quite clearly because the room was so quiet.

"You can read it tomorrow. Come on, I'll take you to your room." Camoline looked at Carlus for a while, before the girl let out a slow sigh. With little force, Camoline closed the unfinished book she had read. Of course, Camoline had already slipped the book barrier on the page she had not finished reading.

"You want to take these books to the room? So tomorrow you can spend some time reading in your room." Very tempting offer for Camoline. Because that way, Carlus will not know if he reads until late at night. Camoline looked at the books, then turned her eyes to Carlus. He smiled and then nodded strongly.

"Sure," said Camoline excitedly. Carlus chuckled softly. He gently rubbed his daughter's head before picking up a pile of books that Camoline had not read. Camoline had only two books in her hand.

"Give me another one, Dad. The books are heavy" Camoline said. Carlus turned his head briefly towards Camoline before laughing softly. In her eyes at the moment, Camoline was extremely adorable.

"It's nothing to Dad" Carlus said. He began to step out of the library. Soon Camoline followed her father's broad steps. He helps Carlus by opening the library door and following the man in the back. Although Camoline was happy because she could read the books as much as she could, she felt guilty for Carlus who had to read the books. Carlus had just arrived home and the man was clearly exhausted.

"By the way, where did you get these books? You've been looking for him for a long time but you haven't found him" said Carlus, who suddenly started a conversation.

"From the top shelf in the library. Why why?" Carlus looked back. He smiled back at his daughter.

"This is the book your grandmother left behind. He wrote all of this, to tell the story of the past when he was young" Carlus said. A frown on Camoline's forehead appears. One of the books in his hand mentioned time, which was quite strange if someone had managed to live that long.

"All these are books written by Grandma?" ask Camoline. Carlus nodded. When he saw it, he was smiling at the moment.

"Yes, all this was written by him."

"Is Grandma an explorer?" Carl turned back to Camoline. Luckily, they were in front of Camoline's room. Camoline opened the door to her room. Then Carlus went in there, followed by Camoline behind him.

"It can be said that way. Your grandmother loved traveling to different places on this continent. Before finally getting married and having a father. That was the time when Grandma finally stopped exploring" Carlus said. He placed the book on a table that Camoline used to read. Carl turned to Camoline. His daughter was still standing behind him.

"Now sleep. Tomorrow you can continue reading. Good night Camoline."

"Good night, Dad," said Camoline. His eyes stared at Carlus' departure from his room. As soon as the door of her room was tightly shut, Camoline let out a long sigh. It was obvious that there was something strange here. If all of these books are true about her grandmother, then there are things that she must make sure. About how could someone without the power of a holy stone be able to live over two hundred years. Even high magic power was not enough to extend one's lifespan. Except, he got the blessing to be able to live to a long life.
