The Wiz

The Wiz
Chapter 45: The Rift

Barcus walked towards the room of his brother, Zelden. Of course he did not come because of his own initiative for now. Obviously Barcus would have chosen to spend some time at his house and spend that favorite beer while his studies at the Academy had not yet begun. But alas, a black pigeon interfered with his intention. The bird carried a message on a roll of paper from Zelden. The old man told himself to immediately come into his room to discuss important matters. As important as Zelden meant, of course for Barcus it was not important. Barcus exhaled as he reached the door of his sister's room. Inside it sounded quite silent, it seemed like Zelden was busy with papers that kept piling up on his wooden table every day.

"I hope it won't be long" Barcus said after opening Zelden's door. The person in the room looked directly at Barcus. Not only was Zelden in the room, because Camoline was there as well. Sitting next to a chair usually occupied by Barcus. Barcus was silent for a moment. Staring confused and surprised at the figure of the student that he did not see during the school holidays.

With a frown on his forehead, Barcus closed the door of Zelden's room slowly. Not as hard as usual. After which, he drew closer to Zelden and looked at Camoline suspiciously.

"You're back? I thought you were gone" said Barcus. Hearing that, Camoline immediately snorted quite loudly. Unlike Zelden who just shook his head slowly. Even after not being met long enough, Barcus still said that to his special disciples.

"Sit down first, Barcus. We're going to talk about the Opal stone" Zelden said. He certainly would not allow any quarrel between the apprentice teacher and the student. Although it seems that today Camoline looks will not respond to the words Barcus as usual.

Barcus let out a long breath. He looks quite unaccepted with the orders of the Brother. Eventually he sat down. It was just that this time, he took a seat in the chair facing directly against Zelden. Of course this is a direct order from Zelden. His brother forced him. It seems to prevent unwanted fights.

"So, what's up? Did something happen during the holidays?" ask Barcus. He looked at Camoline, but this time did not look at her with a mocking look as usual. The man had returned with his serious face.

"I'm just gonna tell you something I just remembered not too long ago. The stone before it entered my body, had a slight crack," Camoline said. Barcus nodded in understanding, and so did Zelden. The two of them didn't seem so surprised. Or, maybe you guessed about this?

"I expected it" said Zelden. His words made Barcus and Camoline turn to him with curious faces.

"So you think it's that crack that makes its power disappear all of a sudden?" ask Barcus to his brother. Zelden turned towards him, then nodded. Justifying his sister's words.

"But I didn't expect, the stone could be deformed as well" Barcus said. During this time, Opal stone has always been called the most perfect object on the face of the earth. There would be no flaw or damage in the slightest due to the power possessed by this stone. So it is quite impressive if the holy stone that everyone is after has a crack.

"Because someone tried to destroy this rock" Camoline added. Zelden and Barcus immediately turned their heads towards him. The faces of the two were clearly in shock. Something that sounds impossible for anyone to do.

"That's impossible" elak Barcus. Zelden nodded, agreeing with his sister's words.

"Then look at the stone now, Mr. Barcus," Camoline said. It was only with the help of the power of Barcus that Camoline could see the state of Opal stone very clearly. During this time he was only able to see the colors that glowed covering the stone on his body. But with the power of Barcus, the light would be slightly dim so as not to cover his gaze on the stone.

Barcus looked at Camoline with his forehead puckered deeply. Next to his eyebrows was raised. He stared strangely at Camoline's right hand outstretched towards him. However, Camoline's countenance was very serious at this moment. As far as he knew, Camoline would have the expression she was today if she said solemnly. Barcus let out a long breath. He glanced at Zelden, and the man was on Camoline's side. Finally, Barcus returned the remark. He will obey the wishes of the young girl in front of him.

A thin white light began to be seen between the palms of the two hands. Neither Barcus nor Camoline, both of them were closing their eyes. Focus on the power of Barcus trying to check the whereabouts of the stone. Zelden looked at the two calmly. It looks calm but there is actually a sense of worry. Because the magic that Barcus is doing right now is quite draining of energy.

Now, it is clearly seen how the state of Opal stone in the body of Camoline. The stone had a crack, just like Camoline had said before. Only, the crack was not as small as Barcus thought. The crack is engraved from end to end even in the middle there is a fairly deep crack. After making sure clearly, Barcus stopped. The two men opened their eyes again.

"That many cracks can't be said a little bit" Barcus said. He leaned back on the chair he was sitting in. The energy he had expended earlier was quite a lot, making Barcus feel exhausted at this moment.

"Indeed. The cracks increased from the last I saw" Camoline said. He quietly exhaled slowly. I don't want to be seen if he's exhausted at the moment.

"And before, this stone did not have the slightest crack," continued Camoline. Barcus instantly raised his head with a deep frown on his forehead.

"You said that there was a crack in that rock before." Camoline nodded weakly. Justifying the word Barcus.

"Indeed. In my current life, the stone has a slight crack. But 500 years ago, the stone was very clean of dust cracks." Both Barcus' eyes were wide open. So too with Zelden. Even Zelden was already standing with that surprised look.

"500 years?" ask Zelden to make sure. Camoline turned her head, then nodded slowly.

"Yes, right. I am the reincarnated soul from 500 years ago."
