The Wiz

The Wiz
Chapters 28.

They were both in Zelden's room. The room with a fairly dim lighting, but Camoline can still see every corner of the room. Nothing has changed, not much. There was only a pile of books that felt new in Camoline's eyes, in the corner of the room near Zelden's desk. It looks like an old book. It looked very yellowed and Camoline could see if any part of one of the books was broken.

Camoline's head lifted, finding Zelden staring back at her. As soon as the two looked, Zelden drew a smile on his face. He moved his hand, telling Camoline to sit down.

"Sit. This is not a short conversation" Zelden said. So inevitably, Camoline finally complied and immediately sat in a chair directly opposite Zelden's desk. And Zelden himself sat down soon after.

"Before, sorry to interrupt your plans, young lady. But this is a very important conversation. About the stone" Zelden said. Camoline's body immediately snapped. Unknowingly, he even straightened his back. Although Camoline had suspected that Zelden had known about the stone's presence in her body for a long time, this was the first time she had to discuss the stone with Zelden.

"What do you want to talk about?" ask Camoline. He really has to be careful. Even if Zelden is the Big Brother of Barcus, but that doesn't mean Camoline can just trust him.

Zelden smiling. Realizing that the disciple in front of him was putting a vigilance on him.

"How did you progress with that stone? I heard, only two colors that you managed to get," said Zelden. He said very calmly making Camoline could not guess anything. Scrubbing information from his head, that's the worst thing. He did not want to do such a risky thing.

"so. Even my level hasn't increased after all this time" Camoline said. He sighed slowly with his back starting to lean. Barcus apparently told quite a lot to the old man in front of him.

"I understand. Perhaps, you need additional training from other teachers? It's possible, it's capable of stimulating other forces to appear, or increasing your level of strength" Zelden said. Camoline was silent. He did not immediately respond, but the frown on his forehead seemed to indicate when his head was thinking about Zelden's words just now.

That's a really good idea. Besides being able to stimulate her strength to increase, Camoline will also get new training to strengthen herself. It's just...,

"So I have to tell you about this stone?" Zelden blinked his eyes a few times before drawing a smile. His head that shook made Camoline frown deeply.

"No, it can be done if you don't want to do it. You only need to get training from the teachers, so your abilities will be honed. As your abilities increase, your magic level will also increase" Zelden explained.

Again, Camoline let out a long sigh. Zelden's words were certainly true. His abilities must be continuously honed in order for his level to also increase. At first he thought, the crazy training Barcus gave him would be enough to help him reach a high level. But apparently that's not true. It had been over a month, and he had not yet reached level 42.

"If I may give you some advice, I will recommend Azura to your next teacher. He had the skill to make potions, but was also a powerful invading magician. You can learn a lot" Zelden continued. Camoline immediately remembered what Zelden meant. That woman, she is indeed not a teacher who sucks if only the habit of expelling students without a reason can be eliminated. So far, Azura also always taught very calmly even though the students always messed up in her class.

"I'll think about it" said Camoline. And Camoline's reply nodded in satisfaction. After that, the two went back into silence for a while. At this moment, Zelden's facial features became complicated. He was compiling the word he was going to ask the disciple in front of him.

"One more thing. Do..., I may know how old you are, Miss?"

"I'm 16 years old. Is something weird?" Zelden let out a long sigh with his head shaking slowly.

"No. It's just..., is it true that you are the mate of the Great Lord Aldus?" Camoline fell silent. Barcus really has told me a lot like that. Remind him to beat up that shitty old man.

Camoline threw away her face. He chose to stare at the shelf with books lined up to fill it. "In my first life, she was my mate" Camoline said in the end. It feels useless if it will be evasive, because Zelden is not a fool.

"I understand. Apparently true," murmured Zelden. Zelden's head immediately turned towards the man when he heard his mutter. Only, Zelden looked like he would say nothing about it. Then Zelden's face changed. He smiled back. It was as if what he had been muttering had never happened

"What about Londer, son?"

"He's not my mate" Camoline said firmly. Zelden immediately chuckled at hearing that. Camoline of course gets upset with questions like this every time. Because of their closeness that is too intimate, making many people think that they are both a pair of mate.

"alright. But, it would be impossible not if your partner was the Great Lord again?" Camoline fell silent. Zelden's words are true. It's very unlikely to happen. I suppose.

"But it could be, because Asdus has never died" Camoline said. He looked at Zelden closely. The look on his face was extremely serious with a twinkle of emotion and grudge in both of his eyes.

"How many years have passed?" asked Zelden in a curious tone.

"500 years, 500 years have passed since the terrible war began" Camoline said in a soft voice. Zelden could still hear it. Camoline's statement certainly made her very surprised. Although all this time he knew if Asdus had a position as the Great Lord, but he had never known at all how old the man was. And hearing this, Zelden hoped that Camoline's words would be a joke taught by her sister, Barcus.

"This sounds very impossible. But, that scent, I still remember it. The aroma is still the same as it was 500 years ago" Camoline continued.

Zelden let out a long breath. About the stone in his student's body alone has made himself distraught. Now, a shocking new thing, came back to attack him. I don't know what other crazy things he'll get tomorrow.

"Then, is there a possibility that the Great Lord knows the existence of—"

"If he remembers, yes. I swallowed this stone right in front of him" Camoline cut. Zelden. He did not protest even though Camoline had been insolent to cut his words.

"It was horrifying what happened back then" murmured Zelden softly. Camoline did not answer. He just kept quiet, letting Zelden think alone. Because of what happened back then, it was a nightmare for anyone. Especially the white clan. A nightmare that begins with betrayal of the gods.
