The Wiz

The Wiz
Chapter 49: The Alliance

What Londer said just made one room quiet. No one is talking. They were silent with their own minds. However, of course Camoline who looked was not surprised like the three old men. He had known about it, long before Londer said this now. After all, the sudden arrival of Asdus at that time, Camoline was sure if gradually the officials of the Palace would be aware of the existence of Opal stone in his body. Delwana's head lifted, looking at Londer with a serious look on his face. He seemed to be quite distrustful of the words of Londer. Although it's actually not something that is impossible. Because the ambitions and obsessions of the higher-ups of the Palace were indeed quite terrifying.

"You sure?" delwana asked with a serious look. Londer turned his head, turning his gaze from Zelden towards Delwana. He nodded with great certainty.

"Yes, of course," said the young prince.

"Where did you get that kind of information?" This time Zelden asked. He glanced at Delwana, where the man was still surprised by what he had just heard. Zelden let that go. He was more interested in the explanation of the Prince of the Chromos clan. Londer straightened his back. Very prepared with this question from Zelden.

"I heard it directly. The time when the higher-ups were present at the residence of the Chromos clan and discussing this with the clan elders," said Londer. Zelden nodded in understanding, while Delwana looked at him strangely. This was very new for Delwana, as the clan higher-ups could provide this important information with ease.

"When did the meeting happen?"

"Two days before the day of the exam" said Londer. Zelden nodded back. He glanced at Barcus. The man had been keeping his mouth shut since.

"It's been a while. Is there anything else?" ask Zelden. Without hesitation, Londer nodded back. He had come to say something he had just learned not too long ago. The last week of the holiday. Meeting all that he heard secretly.

"As I said before, the higher-ups are already very confident that there are Opal stones in this Academy. Before, they weren't so sure. But at the last meeting, they were very confident and even believed at what point the stone was located" explained Londer. This time, Camoline's head immediately turned towards him. He was quite surprised. As he remembered, there had never been any tools or spells to detect the existence of hidden Opal stones. Or, actually there is and can only be used today? Camoline was not sure.

"They're overconfident in what they know" Barcus said. Finally he made a sound even though again and again the tone of speech that he let out was quite annoying. Zelden did not respond to his sister's words. He was silent with a full mind.

"Do you know what point they're talking about?" Delwana seems to be very interested in this. Little did he know, if Zelden and Barcus, and these two disciples were on the same team. They seemed to be going to put up a fight against the Palace Authorities even though until now Delwana did not know the clear reason for their current behavior. Because in fact, their lives are under threat if there are parties who leak their plans to the officials.

"Unfortunately no. I couldn't hear it at all" said Londer. Delwana exhaled, looking quite disappointed.

"It seemed, they had already marked the place they believed in on a piece of the map. Those officials will easily get the Academy's floor plan even if not for obvious reasons" Camoline said. Delwana glanced at him for a while before nodding her head. Camoline's words make sense.

"So you can already predict when they will come here?" ask Barcus. Zelden remained silent for a while, before he finally let out a long sigh.

"You could have done it. Remember, your position here is the Head of the Academy. Use your job every once in a while" Barcus said. Zelden grunted softly. He'll think about that later. After that, Zelden's view shifted to Delwana. The man was still silent with a thin frown on his forehead.

"It seems you have come to your own conclusion. Now I'll just make it clear" Zelden said. Delwana immediately raised his gaze. He looked at Zelden with curiosity.

"We who are here are very opposed to the officials of the Palace. It may not be up to rebellion, but our view of the world is very different from that of the higher-ups. Including with His Majesty Mr. Asdus," he continued. Delwana. Although he knew that Zelden and Barcus did not have a good view of the higher-ups of the Palace, like himself, but he was quite surprised by Zelden who could say that easily. The head of Delwana then turned towards Londer and Camoline.

"Then these two students? Why are they involved too? I think they're too young to understand things like this" Delwana said. The words made Barcus laugh quite loudly. That certainly made Barcus the center of attention of the four people who were there.

"You're saying this, ridiculous thing." That's all Barcus said. He immediately closed his mouth without intending to explain anything more. The look on his face was so mocking as Delwana waited for Barcus to speak again. While Zelden shook his head slowly to see his sister's behavior. So is Camoline. He was actually holding back the frustration of the old man who unfortunately became a teacher in particular.

"They exist because this is indeed the destiny of both," Zelden said casually. Delwana looked back at Zelden. The frown on his forehead was getting deeper. He seemed not to understand what Zelden meant by his words.

"I don't understand" said Delwana. He chose to be honest, so that all the questions in his head could disappear even if only half.

"You don't have to understand too deeply. All you need to know is that they are both quite important because they can get important information easily, not as difficult as if you or Zelden were looking for them" Barcus said. He tapped his empty beer glass into the chair beside him.

"So, the two of them were in charge of gathering information from the movements of the higher-ups?" Barcus immediately replied with a nod for sure. Delwana began to understand a little.

"And one of them also knew, a member of the black clan who is still alive today," Barcus continued. His words made Delwana surprised instead of playing. He looked towards the two disciples. The two stared at Barcus with different faces. While Barcus looked at the two disciples with a ruckus that sounded very annoying.

"So, are you really going to join or not?" this time Zelden spoke up. Prevent Delwana from asking anything more today.

"If you choose not, then do not expect to come out in a state of breathing" said Camoline. He looked at Delwana flatly. Even the atmosphere in the room felt quite suffocating. Delwana felt it so strongly. He looked at Zelden in confusion, as Zelden looked unfazed by what was happening in this room right now.

"I'm-I'm ready!"
