The Wiz
Chapter 57: Visible

"Your Majesty."

Asdus looked back. There stood one of the top officials of the Palace. He bowed respectfully towards himself.

"What brings you here?" The head of the Palace's higher-ups looked down. The intimidating aura of the body of Asdus was indeed not playful. Everyone was very afraid because just the existence of Asdus alone managed to make anyone feel suffocated.

"The Great Ancestor has important news for you, Your Majesty," he said. Asdus slowly turned his body. He stared with a sharp look at the top of the Palace.

"Go." After hearing that, the Palace official immediately walked out of the private room of Aldus. He closed the door of the room very carefully before stepping very quickly away from the room. While in the room, Asdus was still standing still in his place. He breathed a long breath.

"You're here already, why don't you tell me right away?" Before long, a person appeared in his all-black clothes. Which is in stark contrast to the color of his hair that has been all whitened. That man is called the Great Ancestor. The one who accompanied Asdus for a long time. Even so, the person still could not be the person that was so trusted by Aldus. It is very acknowledging when Asdus is very careful of the people around him.

"Just provide useful work for your sycophants" he said. The man named Edius said casually. Absolutely not seen if he was frightened or depressed with an intimidating aura that Asdus released since. Even now, he could chuckle when Asdus snorted. Something that might be very feared by the officials of the Palace, because it is the same as indicating that their lives are on the edge of the horn.

"Now, you can say it" said Aldus. He moved closer to his work chair. He sat his body on a soft chair with gold ornaments on all sides.

Edius exhaled slowly. He would never be able to mince words with this man in front of him. Therefore, the look on Edius' face slowly changed. He immediately put on a serious face. His legs moved so that the distance between himself and Asdus was reduced.

"You're still interested in that Opal stone, aren't you?" Asdus raised his head. His forehead shriveled, then next to his eyebrows raised.

"of course. That's the reason I'm in this world" Asdus said. He leaned his back and looked at Edius sharply.

"Goodoo. Because I have very interesting news about it" said Edius. He took out his hand which had been hiding behind his robe of greatness. The hand held a rolled up paper. Asdus. The look on his face showed that he was very curious.

"News from you or from someone else?" ask Aldus full of investigation. Now, it was Edius' turn to snort.

"of me. I'm just in case others find out about it earlier than you do" Edius said in an annoyed tone. Asdus chuckled softly. I liked making the man in front of her upset.

In fact, their age is adrift by hundreds of years. However, the immortality that Asdus had made the man look younger than Edius. As it should have been, Edius became his descendant.

Asdus unrolled the scroll. He read it calmly and seriously. Not letting a single word slip through his eyes. While Edius had to be willing to stand waiting until Asdus finished even though his old body was not that strong. This is quite often makes Edius upset because of the fate of Aldus whose body is so young even though hundreds of years have passed. Although Aldus had mentioned that what happened to his body was a curse, but Edius could not not not be envious.

"Yesterday, during the day. I very confidently saw when the new Opal was in Topaz Academy." Asdus nodded in understanding. He kept the scroll on the table. His face turned serious again.

"That means the words of fools are not lies" said Asdus. Edius could hear it clearly. And he knew whoever Asdus meant. And of course it was the higher-ups of the Palace who had previously said that the Opal stone was in Topaz Academy. But when they went there not long ago, there was no sign that the stone was there.

"And you can already see its exact existence?" Asdus asked again. Unfortunately, Edius could only shake his head. The position of the stone is not very clear. Not because of its hidden location, but keep moving.

"No. It's just that I can say, if the position of the sacred stone continues to move," said Edius. Asdus immediately raised his head. He looked directly into the eyes of Edius. I don't know what Aldus was trying to find. Before finally a breath came out of his mouth.

"You're going to tell this to the sycophants, aren't you?" Asdus raised his eyebrows.

"Why should I do it?" Edius shrugged both his shoulders. He put on a face.

"For those who work for you? It'll be easier for you to just accept that stone, won't it?" Asdus closed his eyes for a moment. This made Edius again put on an annoyed face. However, unfortunately Edius could not say anything. Not even a single rebuke could be because Asdus was the leader here.

"of course. They should have done everything for me. Even if they have to give up their lives for me" said Asdus. He opened his eyes and looked at Edius with a grin on his face. This is the Asdus that Edius knew from the beginning. A terrible man with a crazy obsession. However, Edius could not to be so bad at the man in front of him, who had already saved himself back then. Although Edius had to make an agreement — like the officials of the Palace it— written if he had to sacrifice his soul and body for Asdus.

"Go away. Someone's gonna be in in a minute." And after saying that, both of them could hear someone knocking on the door from outside. Edius looked back before he looked back at Asdus.

"I'm going back to my room, my lord." Edius bowed slightly with his right hand raised towards his left shoulder. After that, Edius' body instantly disappeared with black smoke engulfing him. The teleportation power of the black clan, it was of course Aldus who taught it. Only, Edius was not like Asdus who was able to hide the distinctive scent of black clan magic. So that when the Palace official who had knocked on the door, now frowned because he smelled a very foreign aroma on his nose.

"Sincerely servant, Your Majesty—"

"Tell your colleagues if the presence of Opal stones has been seen back at Topaz Academy. Arrange a meeting to discuss this tomorrow afternoon," said Aldus in the tone of his orders. He did not even give time for the Palace officials to say the purpose of his arrival.

The person in front of Aldus gasped slowly. However, he immediately nodded obediently. Asdus' orders are everything.

"All right, Your Majesty. I will convey. I beg you to resign" said the Palace official before stepping out of the room. After the door closed, Asdus again exhaled a long breath.

"Is the stone in a person's body because of his behavior?" mumbles Asdus slowly. He remembered a figure at that time.
