Chapter 42: The Elder and the Light of the Curse

That was about 300 years ago. That means 200 years after a terrible war that left a trauma unfolding. It also means before the Opal stone returns to Camoline. This stone no longer came into the hands of the members of the Kingdom as he had always heard before. Camoline is very sure if the meaning of light that this author mentioned is Opal stone. When Camoline first got this stone, the Opal stone glowed. Not an ordinary light, because there is something interesting. It was like magic that made Camoline so eager to stare at this sacred stone. Not only that, but the strange feeling at that time, which Camoline only knew at this time was the desire to master the stone alone. From what he felt at that time and the explanation of the author should be quite clear if the holy light in question is this Opal stone.

Camoline exhaled a long breath. He was a little grateful at that moment, he thought to keep this stone away from anyone by letting this stone hide in his body so that it could not be taken easily. But because of that, Camoline admitted that she was sorry. The process of absorbing this stone with the forbidden spell was enough to hurt his body. Not to mention what happened after, or before he died at that time. Camoline shook her head slowly. He focused on the book in front of him.

*That sacred light is not something that is easy to control. It has its own ego. So that the elder was also so difficult. Various spells have been tried. Various elements were already deployed, but the light absorbed each element directed at it. One by one the temple guards began to lose their magic power due to the greed of the light. Until the elder was determined to destroy it.

The light is not a gift. The predecessors had lied for too long. The light is a curse. The curse given by God to man for having done so much damage on this Earth land.

The elder died followed by the loss of the light after getting a slight crack. The light was eventually deformed, though not as the Elder wished to be smashed away like ash.

In his last breath, the Elder hoped that the next light receiver would be able to destroy him better than himself*.

Camoline fell silent. The choice to smash this stone had indeed crossed his head back then. In his first life. While in his current life, Camoline actually fought hard to master the power in this Opal stone to avenge him and his followers for the death of all the white clans that the man slaughtered. Unknowingly, Camoline had been affected by this stone curse. It feels like that.

Camoline closed her eyes. If the duo was right, then one of the powers in this stone disappeared because his body currently did not have any magic elements. So that the curse of Opal stone that absorbs other powers does not work and instead makes the stone eliminate the power of his own. Camoline opened her eyes again. He still doubts about this. Not to mention, he was sure there was something else he should know about this Opal stone.

*None of the other temple guards were aware of the loss of light. It was a very quiet and dark night. The light was not shining for a week. Until a clear morning with the cold autumn wind, then people began to realize it. The death of the elder brought quite a deep sorrow, but it did not give such a deep sorrow. They feel more lost in the light. The light that gives human lust only.

The news of death spread quickly. When the land had become white, the retinue of the Palace in silver and gold clothes came. They had come to intend to mourn the death of the elder who had guarded the sacred temple for a very long time.

The hour count, the holy temple was no longer holy and quiet. Red stains litter the temple walls. One person has betrayed. Tells the news about the existence of the light that the King has been looking for so far that has now disappeared.

The curse of light did not just stop. Greed apparently makes a white heart tarnished so easily*.

Camoline jerks. He let out a long sigh while the waiter who had just spoken immediately lowered his head in and apologized. Camoline took one of the book dividers from the desk drawer and placed it on the unfinished page she had read. Afterwards, he stood up and walked over to the servant.

"The books should not be cleaned up. I haven't read it all" Camoline told the waiter, who was walking in her footsteps.

"Good, Miss. I'll make sure no one gets inside the library during Miss's dinner."

Camoline nodded her head. That sounds like an exaggeration, but it's better. Camoline had already compiled the book in order. And it will be troublesome too if later there will be those who scramble the books.

The two arrived at a dining room that was not so spacious. There are only 4 seats and one table. There are already a few dinner menus on the table, though today only Camoline will be eating dinner. Yeah, just Camoline because the waitress in her dad's house would never want to go to dinner together. The middle-aged woman would choose to clean up the other room when Camoline finished her dinner.

"Good fun for dinner, miss."

"Thank you" said Camoline. He sat down immediately. Staring at the food in front of him with a frown. To be honest, Camoline wasn't sure if she could finish all of this alone. His stomach is not that strong.

"I'd better eat right away so I can get back to reading those books again quickly" Camoline muttered. He began his dinner alone accompanied by silence. It felt so strange to Camoline. He was used to eating dinner at tables with a lot of people, like he was at the Academy. His throat feels strange now. He was suddenly not used to this kind of silence.

Camoline eats fast. In addition to wanting to immediately read the pile of books, he also could not stand the sense of loneliness in the dining room. Once her stomach was full, Camoline stopped and walked out of the room. Tomorrow, he promised to apologize to the waiter who had prepared dinner today because he had not spent it. Really, Camoline's stomach actually feels nauseous because it is uncomfortable with the atmosphere that is too sep.

Camoline's footsteps skirted through the space per room in Carlus' house. The lantern lights have been lit all over so the house looks pretty dim. Camoline's footsteps are wide enough. He continued walking until he entered the tightly closed library room. Just like when he went to the dining room earlier. Inside, the lantern light was already turned on. And there was a lantern lamp that had not yet turned on, not far from the books that he would read at this time. The lamp will accompany him to read the entire contents of all the thick books.

"It's time to find out something else about the Opal stone," Camoline muttered with a feisty smile.
