The Wiz

The Wiz
Chapter 2: Topaz Academy (2)

Mount Topaz is crystal blue, looks like a diamond mountain when exposed to sunlight. Even so beautiful, but the road to the top is very dangerous. It is said that only a few people are able to walk to the top of Mount Topaz safely. And back down again with no scuffiness at all. And the Topaz academy, the building itself was almost a part of that sacred mountain. There was a section of the academy, where it was directly connected to the tunnel of the Topaz mountain. The Headmaster's room.

Although only one part that blends with the Topaz mountain, but from the hall alone can be felt if the school building really describes the holy mountain. In a very spacious hall, where the roof part made of glass, instantly displayed the glistening foot of the Topaz mountain. Not a few people were amazed at the beauty of the sacred mountain. Remember, to see this close to Mount Topaz must get permission from this academy. The school is also the protector of the sacred mountain.

"All right, look in my direction properly."

All of them immediately turned their eyes towards Barcus who was on the podium, along with several other teachers. His blue robe moved when his hands did not stand still. He looked at the participants who escaped with an annoyed look. Because there are still people who have not obeyed his orders.

"alright. I appreciate you guys doing what I said so quickly." Barcus sighed. He began to take out a scroll from his hand with the magic he mastered. One of the basic magic at the Mage level. Opening the paper roll slowly, Barcus snorted loudly making the teachers sitting behind him including the Headmaster, frowning them confused.

"Actually, most of you got lucky to be a part of this academy," Barcus rolled back the paper and then disappeared by itself, "because to be able to make the crystal ball show color, it must be at the level 21 of the Textes. It's the lowest level for a student in this academy" Barcus said with a voice so loud. The escaped registrants immediately lowered their heads. Some of them felt insinuated by Barcus's words just now. This is the same as, Barcus tells if the owner of the level below 21 is not so expected presence.

Zelden cleared his throat with a loud voice that made him instantly get the full attention of Barcus. "What's up, Principal?" ask the teacher without any guilt. All the teachers sitting next to Zelden shook their heads slowly with their heads bowed or smiled wryly. Zelden did not display any expressions. His lips were tightly locked.

"Well, if there's nothing you want to say, I'll continue this." Barcus looked back at the registrants with a stern look.

"Before you guys let her out of this hall, there's one thing I want to tell you about Topaz's academy. Important things you must remember to death." Barcus' words really managed to make the feathers of the registrants who escaped stand. When it comes to death, this is not a good thing.

"In this academy, your level of strength is very influential in everyday activities. Then prepare your mental from this moment. If anyone feels they will not be able to, you know where the exit is," said Barcus flat. He shook his hand slowly, as if he was lazy with what he should have told the escaped registrants.

"I'm done talking. You can leave this place" he said again as the bodies of the teenagers stiffened. He walked nonchalantly past the teachers who were more senior than him then stepped out of the hall just like that. Zelden let out a long breath. From the beginning, it was not the right action to have Barcus speak in front of the escaped registries.

Zelden who suddenly stood up, made everyone tightly shut his mouth to take a good look at that Topaz Headmaster.

Although the admission of new students at this school was 4 months faster than usual, Zelden never expected to get enough students with above average strength. Yes, at least it is enough even though the dominant registrant who passes has a level that is still very low.

"School head. So what about the learning system?" Zelden turned towards Cheya with a smile engraved on his wrinkled face.

"Don't think about it. Keep doing the same thing as before to make them the strongest people." Cheya nodded in understanding. He slowed his pace back to his feet after one step behind Zelden.

Actually not only Cheya who hesitated, but almost all teachers. They had obtained a list of the applicants who passed the selection before. And how surprised they were to find that the number of students with levels below the Textes was quite a lot. It's like there's something wrong with that crystal ball.

"There's nothing wrong with that crystal ball." The heads of the teachers walking behind Zelden instantly lifted with frowned. Hearing this just made them feel that Zelden could read their minds.

Zelden spoke again, "maybe this is indeed the destiny of the heavens for our school. After all, bad premonitions have been haunting me lately." After that, Zelden stepped back without realizing the teachers who stopped to digest his words.

The premonition that Zelden felt was no ordinary premonition. It was one of the awards that Zelden had obtained as this Headmaster. If Zelden had said that, then obviously something bad would have happened. Perhaps this was also what the holy crystal felt, so it could pass the registrants whose levels were still very far from ready. It was not the registrants who had the strength that could be used to battle later on.

"I'm still confused about something," all the teachers turned towards Azura, "what are the criteria that the holy crystal ball deserves? Don't you feel the same way as me? Just now, there was a registrant who was at level 27, but failed to make the ball shine," explained Azura. All the teachers back.

"The holy heart? Or..."

"I'm not sure, Master Delwana. It is very difficult to guess inanimate objects especially those sacred ones. Only the Sky and maybe the Headmaster know about it" Pisces said. All the teachers walked back. They are still thinking about what happened today. Very difficult to accept logic, with the results of registration this year. Perhaps it was, the crystal ball was looking for a reliable figure when Zelden's bad premonition became real.
