Chapter 12 Return to the Academy

The door opened, Jack raised his head and saw one of his sons step into the room.

"Ryu, when did you come back from overseas? why don't you tell me first?" tanyakanya.

"How are you?" sapana.

"Please sit down, son" said Jack.

Ryu complies and sits right in front of Jack, from the look on his face it is clear that Ryu knows what is happening to the company. Moreover, he came all the way from abroad without giving news.

"What about Hans?"

"He kept himself locked up in his room, without eating or drinking his job was just self-blame"

"I see, if I was in Hans's position I might have been desperate"

"This is not his fault, every incident that happens is a fate that cannot be changed. Hans who has no experience and then just plunged into the CEO certainly can not face these problems, if there is something to blame then it is me"

"Don't talk like that dad, for many years Hermes' successful group was probably the time for Hermes' group to rest. Don't you still have some assets? we better wake everything up from zero again" Ryu suggested.

"You're a smart father's son, thank you for visiting me."

Ryu smiled at the compliment.

In the darkness of the night Chad walked alone, he entered the house that he had recently bought. On that night the house appeared dark without the light of a lamp, a gentle whirring of wind swept through the curtains as if a waving arm.

Chad kept coming in until he came upon a candlelit room, a black-robed man standing by the window looking at the perfect moon.

"It's a beautiful and strategic house, you have good taste" the man said.

"Did my uncle bring what I asked?" ask Chad.

"Of course" he answered.

The man took out a bottle and put it on the table, Chad immediately picked it up and unscrewed the bottle. He can smell a pleasant but disgusting scent to humans from the bottle, Chad takes a glass and pours the contents of the bottle into it.

A red liquid filled the glass, looking shiny as Chad glared at it with moonlight. There was a faint smile on Chad's lips that made him look creepy, he sipped the liquid slowly and said.

"Best quality, I like it so much"

"I'll never let you down" the man said.

"Thank you uncle, in exchange uncle can keep some humans in the basement"

"No need, I have my own place for it"

"Then what does uncle want?"

"Nothing, I did all this because your grandmother was my best friend. After my son died I have no reason to stay anywhere" he replied, staring at the beautiful moon.

Chad could feel the sadness and loneliness that existed inside the man, he had known him since childhood. His name was uncle Jhon, the one who was always there for him and gave him what he needed. Chad knows a little about Jhon from his grandmother, as well as the story of Rocky the late son of Jhon who died a terrible death.

Chad doesn't have a father or a mother, but he has a grandmother and uncle who are one fate with him.

In the dining room in the old castle that belonged to the Hermes family had gathered the members of the family consisting of five people, they were Jack the head of the family, Amelia the son-in-law, Ryu and Shigima the son and Hans the grandson.

Sitting there not only for dinner but also discussing issues concerning the continuity of the Hermes group, Jack the head of the family began to speak up.

"As you know now the Hermes group has been in bad luck, some assets have been sold and all we have is a hotel in the suburbs and this castle and its contents."

Hans lowered his head even more when he heard that, his guilt increasingly raised a surface that made him unable to bear even if only listening.

"To restore this situation I have made up my mind, we will move to the suburbs to restore the situation. We'll just focus on the only asset we have: the hotel and start all over again"

"The others will move except Hans" Ryu interrupted.

"What do you mean?" ask Amelia.

"Right now is not just a matter of our company, but the Academy is also in a precarious state that's why I came home"

"What's going on there?" shigima asked curiously.

"The vampires are getting savage and brutal, Madam tells me that the Academy needs a lot of witches to eradicate the creature. If I'm allowed I want to take Hans to the Academy and make him a knight there."

They fell silent, even more so Shigima. Since that war he had never again dealt with the Academy except for Hans' training which was only a few years.

"I beg you to let me, it's for Hans's good, too. There he could study again and forget all these problems, isn't it tradition that one of the Hermes' families held a high status in the Academy?" ryu said again.

"You're right, it's been twenty years since I gave up my title as General, if Ken were still there today he would have replaced my father" Jack recalled.

As Hermes at least you can make me proud of everything else, not that you failed to manage the company but maybe your talent is somewhere else" Amelia said.

"Mother." call Hans haru.

"Alright, I'll go with uncle Ryu to the Academy" he continued.

The decision is taken, the next day Shigima and Amelia escort Hans and Ryu to the Academy. Right in front of the tunnel located on the edge of the Shigima forest parked his car, Hans came out carrying his bag.

"Hans, whatever task you're going to do, don't give up, I'm sure you can" Amelia said before Hams entered the tunnel.

"I will definitely remember mother's advice" Hans replied as he hugged.

"Dad, I'm sorry I let you down" she said, turning to Shigima.

"You never let me down, you are my only pride" Shigima replied.

After bidding farewell Hans and Ryu entered the tunnel, this is not the first time Hans entered it but after a long time he was quite nervous about having to expend his energy so as not to get lost in that dimension.

A few minutes later he walked out of the dimensional door and set foot on the vast expanse of grassland, there was a sense of longing that burst forth as he looked at the Academy's never-changing grandeur.

"Come on!" bring Ryu.

"Oh well" replied Hans.

Soon he stepped foot into the Academy, he still remembered the first time he knew that his family was a descendant of witches. At first he thought it was all a joke, but when his uncle Ryu could make a floating object he was amazed and wanted to learn it.

At the age of fifteen, Shigima took her to the Academy for training, and it was at this Academy that she began to learn about magic and the world of vampires, Hans had needed vampires in the exam so he was no stranger to the task of the knight who exterminated the creature.

"Rij!" call someone when they want to enter the Academy.

They stopped walking and saw a man running towards them.

"Oh teacher Shishio how are you?" hans asked respectfully.

"Hello Hans, long time no see now you're getting handsome" Shishio replied.

"Hei Shishio, although he is not young anymore but you have not lost your good looks as well. I see you're getting charismatic" Ryu said.

"Ah you're overreacting, did Madam ask you to come?"

"Yes, I got a letter from Madam for that's why I'm here"

"That's it, right now even though we won the war but some peerless Vampires somehow became violent. The creature cannot be discussed and strangely they suck the blood of the victim until it runs out, for that our work becomes more and more" explained Shishio.

"The vampire traits you mentioned somehow remind me of Colt, didn't he ever experience similar symptoms?"

"You're right! I'm still researching those vampires, but I haven't found the right answer"

"Oh yeah, let's talk later! I have to face the Madam first" Ryu said.

"Bye bye!" shishio reply.

Hans saluted again before he left, passing through the various rooms they finally arrived at the front door of the Madam's room. Ryu knocked on the door three times before there was an answer that allowed them to enter, when the door was opened there was an old woman sitting in her chair.

"Madam, we came facing" Ryu said bowing his head along with Hans.

"Finally you come too, come here Ryu" replied the Madam.

Ryu raised his head and walked up to the Madam to greet her, in the other part of the room they sat down and began to discuss the reason why Ryu called her there.

"Every time I was always worried by the terror created by the herd of vampires, every day I got reports of victims who died because of the creature. On the other hand you know ourselves we lost many Knights and great people due to the war of the time, now the slightest help we need it most" said the Madam with a sad face.

"You don't have to worry, from the beginning this is our job. I brought Hans with me to help, I'll put him in the Knight ranks so as to at least eradicate the creature"

"Thank you Ryu, I really hope for you" replied the Madam.

After a few minutes, Ryu takes Hans to his room to store his belongings. He is allowed to rest before tonight joining the others for dinner, while Ryu goes to see his old friend at the Academy.

But Hans was unable to sleep, memories of his training there recollected. Whether it was when he found out that he was a pure descendant or managed to graduate with perfect grades.

Hans chose to take a walk, looking back at every room he used to enter. While being a student he was quite enthusiastic about learning various techniques, he was also very amazed to see his grandfather's statue on display in a room that made him look handsome.

At that time he was eager to follow in the footsteps of the grandfather, becoming a person who was disinclined by everyone. In the other room Hans looked back at the rows of photos of heroes who died on the battlefield, one of whom was his uncle Ken.

"I also idolized my uncle Ken, hearing his story of daring to enter the vampire palace alone was the only story I liked most about him. I think he's crazy, just a fool taking his life to the enemy but that madness gives me the courage to never give up on the enemy even if you know you won't win."

Shishio looked into Hans' sparkling eyes excitedly as he said that, to himself Ken is indeed a fool but he is the same. If Hans had known the true story of that stupid call it would have turned brave.

Unfortunately, after the war the Academy agreed with the Hermes family to remove everything about DIA. Including not telling the story of Him to the disciples of the new teachings or anyone else.
