Chapter 44 The Wound In The Prince's Heart

Ballard fell silent, confused as to whether he should start from where to say all this chaos. But one thing is clear Chad must know his identity has been hidden by Joyi.

"I'm Ballard, one of the top brass in the palace and I'm your grandfather too"

"What?" ask Chad.

"You can ask Joyi, I'm the father of your late mother"

"You know my grandmother" Chad said slowly.

"Of course, I left you to him to keep you safe"

"What do you mean?" ask Chad to be curious.

Ballard tells the story behind the crown prince, a king with the blood of a witch in his body managed to ascend the throne and lead the palace.

She is Reinner Hermes, next to her a beautiful empress named Chaterine devoted faithfully. But when news of Chaterine's pregnancy various problems arise from the palace, several rebellions begin to occur until a small war between vampires occurs.

Reinner was considered unable to carry out his duties as a king properly, even he was stamped as the cause of the riot because of the witch's blood flowing in his body.

The higher-ups had agreed to remove him from the throne, but some vampires were dissatisfied with it. He and his wife were hunted down, which was when Ballard tried to help them escape.

Naas Reinner was not saved, Chaterine was arrested alive and ready to be sentenced to death but he was saved also despite the wounds on his body.

He flees Chaterine to the home of Joyi, in a state of wound Chaterine gives birth to Chad to the world and dies shortly afterwards.

"My coming here is to tell you that you are a crown prince, your job is to take the place of your late father and punish those who killed him" Ballard said.

Chad just stared expressionlessly, then he looked at Jhon as if questioning the truth of the story.

"Your grandmother knows the real story, you can ask her this" Ballard said.

"Go Chad" said Jhon as if supporting Ballard's orders.

Chad decides to go home and find out what's really going on, about the identity Ballard said.

Even though it was late that day but he knew that Joyi was still enjoying tea while talking to Aeda, his face was hard when he met Joyi and said he wanted to speak with four eyes. Without Aeda's orders to leave the room.

"What's up Chad? why is your expression like that?" ask Joyi gently.

"A vampire came to see me and claimed to be my grandfather, his name was Ballard" Chad replied visibly.

Joyi's eyes stared at her heart, putting the tea on the table as she got up and stared out the window.

"Want to?" tanyakanya.

"Tell me what I don't know" Chad asked.

"Before that, are you ready to hear it? your story is worse than a dog dumped on the street" said Joyi, turning her back to look at Chad.

"I beg grandma, say it!" pinta Chad once again with a voice on tap.

Joyi took a deep breath and looked back at the outside view from behind the window.

"Your father was Reinner Hermes who was king in the vampire palace, but he was killed for some reason by the vampires. While your mother Chaterine was killed by Jack Hermes, you're the only one I managed to save" Joyi said, recalling the incident.

"But the vampire said my mother died after giving birth to me" Chad said.

"He was your grandfather, the father of your late mother. If I tell you that his daughter was killed by her own iron will she be able to accept your presence while in your blood flows the DNA of Hermes, whereas you are also vengeful for Jack's cruelty"

"So... both of my parents were killed tragically, so... My grandmother's intention was to die in the war against the vampires who wanted to kill him, why didn't grandma tell me long ago?" chad was disappointed.

"Grandmother intended to say it, but grandma waited for the right time so you could accept the fact. You've suffered enough with your own family's cruelty, grandma doesn't want to see you more devastated" replied Joyi in a soft voice.

"Chad." call Joyi sorry while trying to hold her hand.

But Chad brushed off the hand and took a few steps back, his red and teary eyes clearly revealing the widening wound on his chest.

"Retail the meeting with Violet, I'll start giving Jack a lesson" he said.

Joyi could only nod and let Chad go, bringing the grief away to the house of rest for her to overflow there. Minutes passed with tears and angry cries from his sick soul, the more he let out his chest, the more he was so tight that he could not hold it anymore.

"Chad.." call Ima who suddenly came.

Ima slowly walked over, looking at Chad in the dark in confusion. The groans coming out of Chad's esophagus were quite frightening but as soon as he got near Ima realized that it was a roaring groan.

"Chad.... What's wrong?" ask Ima slowly.

Chad raises his head, looks at Ima and suddenly embraces her.

"Cha-chad! you all right?" ask Ima surprised.

But Chad did not answer, he continued to cry in the arms of Ima to make Ima's heart feel his pain. He reflexively moved his hand to embrace Chad, hugged him tightly and let him cry as he pleased.

"A.. ku. never know how my father's face.. today I just found out. that even before I was born. he was killed by the criminals.. " chad said in his sobs.

Ima can only gently stroke Chad's shoulder when she hears the heartbreaking news, today she knows that behind Chad's cold nature there is a child who lost his father in tragic circumstances.

Chad woke up when the morning was approaching and found himself in bed, of course it was enough to make him shocked. But what makes Chad more surprised is the presence of Ima who fell asleep on the floor with half a body on the bed right next to her.

He also remembered last night crying in the arms of Ima to sleep, slowly he woke up and held Ima to lay her on the bed.

Seeing Ima's innocent face made her heart a little peaceful, but then the feeling reentered her nest.

Chad asks Aeda to ban all the servants from working that day because he does not want anyone to disturb Ima's sleep, while he himself asks Joyi to arrange a meeting with Violet.

Of course Violet would gladly come to fulfill the invitation, even she had already come at the meeting place half an hour earlier.

"Sorry to have made the lady wait a long time" Chad said.

"Ah no, I just came" Violet replied as she stood up to welcome Chad.

They ordered coffee to accompany the casual chat, initially Chad certainly base stale by asking hobbies or other things that Violet likes until he felt it was time to throw a bait.

"If you let me take Kyra out tonight, I'll come pick her up tonight" she said.

"Of course, come to our residence" Violet replied happily.

Maybe this is quite risky because Jack had met him in the forest at that time, maybe Jack was also aware that it was his actions. But in this game he must be willing to step up to take risks, because betting with 50% success is better than not betting at all with a 100% failure%.

He conveys his intentions to Joyi and asks for the best clothes and a bunch of flowers for Violet, Aeda who takes care of all those things quickly prepares them.

"Where are you going?" alisya asked to look at her cousin who seemed to be dating.

"I'll be gone for a while, I have business to do"

"What about your promise? did you get any leads?" alisya asked expectantly.

That question certainly made Chad feel a little guilty, although at first he was well-intentioned to make Alisya forget about the foolish young man.

"Sorry, I'm still looking for him" Chad replied softly.

Alisya lowered her head in a lethargic manner, but Chad's smile still returned even without passion.

Chad drives Manager San to the Hermes residence, where the extended family lives in an old castle that still looks elegant.

Seeing a luxurious car and a handsome young man descending in front of the gate the guards opened the door, Violet who had been waiting since then immediately welcomed Chad with joy.

"Welcome Mr Chad"

"Thank you, this is a flower for you" he said, handing over the flower.

"Why do you bother?" violet replied, but in her heart she was happy to receive it.

"Please come in, I'll tell Kyra you've come. He's been waiting for you since then until he's been glazed over and over again hahaha.You know what kind of girl" joked Violet.

Chad smiled and sat in the living room, a waiter served a drink while Chad looked around the room.

The castle seems so quiet that he bet Jack and Shigima haven't come home from the office, it's a little annoying because there's no drama going on but it's quite a relief as well because he doesn't have to act stupid.

"Sorry for making you wait a long time" said Violet who came along with Kyra.

Chad stood up and buttoned his suit, looking at Kyra who was standing next to her mother. Her charm is increasingly radiated with the white dress she wears and thin makeup but looks quite striking, she said, Chad acknowledges that Kyra's beauty is much larger but strangely her heart does not shake as she looks at Ima in the forest.

"Good night, miss... Kyra" Chad kissed Kyra's back.

"You look really pretty tonight" she continued after Kyra pulled her hand.

Obviously Kyra was uncomfortable about it, many times she looked at her mother while frowning and Violet replied with her eye gesture.

"Why stand here, go and enjoy your dinner" Violet said as she encouraged Kyra to start walking.

"Then we'll excuse us" Chad replied.

He walks out of the house followed by Kyra and Violet, Manager San who is ready to stand next to the car to open the door. As soon as his eyes collide with Kyra, Manager San is blown away, especially when Kyra throws a sweet smile.

"Manager San!" call Chad because he's sculpting.

"Ah, yes sir" he answered.

Soon he opens the back door so that his master can get in the car with Kyra, after they say goodbye the car was hurtling towards the restaurant Chad had ordered earlier.

When they get to a waiter swiftly leading the way to their dining table, for Chad he is given a glass of wine while Kyra is just juice because she is a minor.

The dinner should have been romantic but whatever questions Chad Kyra asked always answered briefly and coldly, making Chad not feel at home lingering with him.

This is the first time a girl has no interest in him, not being curious but Chad is fed up. Maybe because he knew they had the same blood, blood that made him want to be a donor at all times.

"If you have time to spare, I'd like to take you to dinner again" Chad said to end the conversation.

"I'm busy, I'm not sure I can meet your invitation" Kyra replied.

"I understand" Chad replied.

Chad gestured to the waiter that they were done, so a waiter came to give the bill. After they finished paying they went out where Manager San was ready to open the door for them.

On the way home to take Kyra home, no conversation was present between them, making Manager San realize that the dinner was not going smoothly, strangely he felt happy about it so there was a smile on it.

"Thank you" Kyra said slowly after they reached the old castle.

Violet certainly approached to welcome the return of her daughter, as well as Ryu and Shigima. Upon seeing Chad, the first thing Shigima feels is suspicious for no reason, as a witch at least she can feel the gripping aura of Chad.

"Come in, let me treat you to a cup of coffee" Violet said.

"I'm sorry if I have free time, unfortunately I have used it for Miss Kyra" Chad replied with a smile.

"There's no need to force Violet, after all it's night. Let her go for a break" Ryu obviously disliked.

Violet tries to persuade Chad again to enter but on the other hand Ryu keeps trying to subtly repel, of course Chad prefers to leave because he could not hold his anger any longer when he saw the perfect Hermes family.

"Manager San, please stop in front" Chad said on their way home.

"Oh, good sir" Manager San replied in surprise as Chad asked to be dropped off near the bar.

He told Manager San to go home first while he himself tried to close the sad day with a glass of wine.
