High School Soldier
Double agent

Informants or agents, whether working in a safe situation or in the midst of a war, or even working for two or more organizations are required to accurately carry messages for those who pay for their services. In other words, being an information-seeking agent requires expertise to convey what words he can during the course of the task, and not change the information.

Arevelk was the country that first formed an army that served as an agent and infiltrated enemy territory. Most of the members of the special forces contained magicians as well as mercenaries who had the ability to move places very quickly. They are required to master the ability, although they are not required to master teleportation magic that requires great magical energy. Ilhiya is one of the Arevelk witch officers who is a member of the Arevelk special forces, in addition to his duties as commander of one of the wizard battalions.

The Guild relied on the reshaped Explorers Guild as a reconnaissance and information-seeking unit around enemy territory. Although they do not enter enemy territory, they are equipped with fly-sized camera drones to monitor enemy movements in small areas such as border bases and places that have the potential to become small enemy bases on the border. In this wartime ‘damai’, most of the Explorers felt it their duty to approach the patrol instead of scouting.

Meanwhile, there were thousands of Alliance soldiers, both lowly soldiers and officers who became POW's, and served their terms in the sturdy Guild fortress. Some of them volunteered as informants as well as double agents. Of course their main owner was the Guild as long as the Alliance had not agreed to the terms put forward if forty thousand of their soldiers wanted to be returned.

Of course, the double agents still get paid according to the work and the risks faced when carrying out the mission. Instead of suffering from unreasonable job demands from the Guild's intel staff, the POWs who volunteered to be double agents were instead satisfied with their work. Of course because they earn money with an amount that corresponds to the level of difficulty when searching for information.

Additionally, voluntarily recruited POWs can be used as shippers of disinformation or as part of intruders of counter espionage operations. They actually gained the trust of their controller, the Guild, even though they were also paid by the target, aka the Alliance, to seek information about the Guild and the Peacekeeping Forces.

One of the dual agents of the POW class and a special position in the Guild's intelligence staff as the chief of the POW's intelligence was one of the Alliance's top officers, Tam. He was from the Duiwel Empire and served as one of the commanders of the country's mage battalion for the Alliance. Nearly two hundred of his subordinates became prisoners of the Guild, yet Tam and the other subordinates and Alliance soldiers lived a decent life as prisoners of war, and were close to ordinary life when held captive here.

In addition to working for the Guild, he managed to return to the Alliance as ‘captive released unconditionally’, although the original guise of the ‘liberation’ was for Tam to be free in work. One of Tam's duties was to inform the Alliance that ‘the person predicted’ had appeared among the Guild army. It was information that was completely trusted by the Alliance's top brass, and immediately formed a team to wage a wider war to obtain the ‘people that the’ had predicted.

Unfortunately, the Guild did not care much about the information, and only wanted the Alliance's reaction to the information. In the end they got what they wanted, and managed to lure the Alliance to show one of their goals other than recapturing the Holy Land and expelling the contingent of ‘the other world’.

(olog note: POW or Prisoner Of War is the cool word of ‘prisoner of war’. In essence, the author does not use the word ‘POW’ to be cool and pretentious ‘enggres’ aja, even though he can not language enggres:v wkwkwkwkwkwkwkw, pardon thor.)

After all, the Guild did not really need information about the appearance of ‘people who predicted’ among their soldiers. Since Nio was quite well known to the high ranking Peace Forces officers, then they knew why Nio was suddenly considered as such a figure.

“They are really moving to seize ‘people predicted’, yes?”

Angga is really in a condition of not understanding about this world, especially about the status of Nio as ‘people predicted’ in this world, he has not fully understood it until now.

Tam then said, “In addition, like the estimated number of Alliance soldiers you gave to the agents, the Alliance actually has an army totaling three million personnel, including magicians and reserve troops.”

“It was a prediction of the person you call ‘people predicted’. I don't know what he did until his prediction about the number of Alliance soldiers was quite accurate.”

Whatever Angga thought, he still did not understand why a potential warrior like Nio only occupied the position of – Student Army officer who was not too often involved in major battles. Outside is still in a drizzling condition, so the air is a little cool and can cool the head of Angga who is almost hot because of thinking about it too much.

Tam actually showed a facial expression meant for the party that had it, spoke at the owner's command, and said the words the owner wanted. He was currently dealing with the owner of the Peace Forces' supreme command as well as one of the Guild's important figures. The absence of politicians in the Special Region of Indonesia in the New World made Angga considered as the leader of the region that covers part of the Holy Land by some nobles Arevelk and Yekirnovo.

Tam still shows the stern face of an officer who is full of pride – even though a prisoner – and his position is not much different from small criminals. General Angga kept paying special attention to himself, and Tam realized that. The man had promised to keep serving the Guild, even though he served as a double agent.

“Pak Tam, what do you think about the Alliance in this war. I want an answer from the point of view of an Alliance officer.”

“You mean how this war is in my opinion, Mr Angga?”

“True.”

It could be said, Tam's standing before ending up being a double agent for the Guild was on par with the general. However, he was standing before someone who according to him was a far higher position than the general according to the level of this world military rank. Moreover, the existence of a person named First Lieutenant (Student Army) Nio Candranala who is also as ‘people who predicted’, may be able to become a figure who occupies a higher position than Angga. So, Tam would strengthen himself to speak carefully, other than because he was inside the cage of a very strong warrior despite having few soldiers. “I will convey what I think about this war, especially according to the Alliance's point of view.”

Tam then continued his words, “Alliance is very confident with great strength, as well as their weapon called ‘hero’. They are starting to create a new weapon called ‘senapan’, and will create another new weapon by utilizing the knowledge of the nine heroes. That way, they are very confident of winning this war.”

Angga stopped reacting for a while after hearing ‘new weapons’ from Tam's remark, then floated a question to Tam.

“Then, what is the essence of your words, Mr Tam?”

“They will then dirt.”

“To be exact?” Angga did not understand Tam's words, as if they were a special term for the military of this world.

“Of course they will lose, then form an army again to avenge defeat. Isn't that no different from a dirty plan? Harness young men or people who are able to take up arms, then force them to fight with the terrible weapons of Indonesian, North Korean, and Russian forces. In my opinion, the Alliance is truly inferior to anything in this world. And they won't stop doing that before getting what they want.”

Sent to this world to find the mastermind of a great war involving all countries in their world, and achieve peace – that is to end the most expensive war in history since the establishment of the Republic of Indonesia.

Since the war began, the military has been forced to revive the Indonesian Student Army in order to strengthen military forces in the face of enemy invasions that continue to come out of the Gates that are open in various parts of the world. However, Angga felt that if TRIP was not re-established, maybe Nio would not be in this place and saw the actions of the teenage officers.

“Oh, that's your reply to the Alliance that has caused many families to lose their children and heads of families as a result of this war?”

“To be frank, what they do for the sake of victory is much worse than that.”

Angga felt Tam say it with full awareness, he might see a captive who was willing to provide as much information as possible about the Alliance. Angga knew that his face was not threatening, as his task was mostly indoors, unlike field officers who dove straight into the battlefield.

Tam was fully aware that what he was doing was close to the actions of a sycophant. Unknowingly, he had done things in order to obtain safety, praise, and a decent life during his time as a Guild prisoner.

Then, a few moments later the sound of the entrance of the Angga's work room was heard knocking. Angga allowed the person who knocked on the door of his study, then entered four people who held the highest position in each contingent. However, the Arevelk and Yekirnovo contingents were actually represented by their great generals, Zvail and Ragh.

“Oh, it turns out there was a defector apparently,” said Zvail with a cynical face. He did not fully trust the special intelligence unit whose members came from among prisoners of high rank of middle or higher officers.

Considering her position among the four highest-ranking people of each contingent, Tam felt she was nothing more than a tool that could be discarded at any time if the owner no longer needed her.

Commander of the Russian contingent for the Peace Forces as well as one of the envoys of the Republic of the Russian Federation to the Alliance, Lieutenant General Nikita Leon, as well as the commander-in-chief of the contingent as well as one of the North Korean envoys to the Alliance, Lieutenant General Nikita Leon, as well as the commander-in-chief of the contingent as one of the North Korean envoys to the Alliance, Lieutenant General Kim Chin-Hwa was seated at the station. Zvail and Ragh then followed, then looked at Tam with a piercing tattoo.

“General Angga, what does this double agent give us?” ask Chin-Hwa.

“As we thought, they attacked Black Fort as the beginning of the next attacks,” Angga replied.

“Regarding the Alliance's plan sent a large army to seize the Holy Land and ‘people foretold’, and the plan to expel us with military force, the entire army was ready to face the whole war. No, actually they have been waiting for this after not getting a chance to show strength to the enemy.”

Leon is seen saying that with a confident face, considering the troops he leads carry their weapons of pride, such as ‘Dewa Baja’. Previously, he had received a message from his president that he should show the enemy that the power of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is the strongest, and ready to destroy all enemies that endanger Russia and its allies. Maybe because of this Leon can talk like that, as if Russia came to this world to face the enemy with a weapon that they are proud of as well.

“Letjen Leon, I hope you also do not forget that the Luan Empire took advantage of this war to reclaim the Kingdom of Yekirnovo.”

“I have not forgotten it, Lieutenant General Chin-Hwa. Our president has stated Yekirnovo also includes Russian allies, we are ready to do anything to protect the young country.”

“It illustrates that how important the military is in the present.”

Having said that, Ragh must have known and realized why a country as big as Russia was willing to help the young country he served. He realized that Yekirnovo could still be conquered very easily without the Guild and Peace Forces here. He did not know what way Sheyn used so the Guild was willing to accept Yekirnovo as its member.

“Quiet Lieutenant General Leon, we have to do it slowly. In addition to using violent paths, the country must also want miracles such as defeating enemies without touching them.”

“Yes, of course, General Angga,” Leon nodded in understanding, and hoped that everyone in this room would forget what he said a few seconds ago. He retained respect and sought to take orders from Angga, the supreme commander of the Peace Forces, as well as one of the key men in the Guild. As long as he did not get the order to make a move, he would try to accept it even though the circumstances were getting urgent. Leon and the rest of the soldiers knew that their duty in this world was not to fight, but to protect and defend what needed to be defended.

And, the end of this war was only a matter of time until the entire army was mobilized to respond to the Alliance which continued to display threats.

On the other hand, Zvail and Ragh realized that if the Peace Forces mobilized all their forces to avenge the actions of the Alliance, it was certain that the Great War Period was really happening at this time. Meanwhile, each of their country leaders has received a letter from several leaders of countries outside the Andzrev Continent containing about the situation of this war, as well as the parties involved in this conflict. Arguably, fighting the Alliance was only a small start before the real Great War Period arrived.

If the countries outside the Andzrev Continent were to engage in this war – after knowing the Holy Land they saved was tainted by the war, it did not change the chances that they would join the Guild or Alliance, either, it even formed its own army to finish the war that had stained their Holy Land.

“Leaders from neighboring countries started asking about this war, maybe they have plans to join the Guild,” Ragh said.

“Even the King of Hayvan Kingdom is on his way to Arevelk Kingdom,” Zvail continued.

“As the esteemed generals of the Guild suspected, the Alliance has also received letters from several leaders of countries in the neighboring continent.”

“Pembelot, sorry, I mean Tam, would you like to provide information about the thing we talked about to the Alliance? You can also add sweetener seasoning to keep them hooked.”

“Will I do as your command, General Angga.”

In the end, the feared ones had been in sight, and several prophecies one by one became a reality. The entire commander of each contingent was unable to hide his bitter expression after realizing their current situation. Perhaps it was natural, because they knew that the Alliance could not work together to stop this war through the negotiating table. If that were to happen, then the negotiating experts from each of the Guild's member states would only continue to receive blind salaries.

There were times when the Peace Forces were alarmed by the Guild having two members with power far behind them, namely the Kingdoms of Yekirnovo and Arevelk. Even so, they still cannot underestimate the strength of the two countries, either, for they contributed the bulk of the army compared to the Peacekeeping Forces who sent only thirty thousand soldiers with the fervor and armament they relied on and were proud of.

In addition, the Arevelk and Yekirnovo contingent soldiers had a great passion for approaching the forces of Indonesian, North Korean, and Russian soldiers. Although they are not armed with firearms, but their close combat ability almost matches the regular soldiers of the three contingents, but is several levels below the elite soldiers of the third country ‘other world’.

“Mr Zvail and Mr Ragh, hopefully you can understand the goodwill of Indonesia, Russia and North Korea here,” said Angga.

“Yes, let's just say our presence here is an advantage,” Leon continued.

“Arevelk does not want to take advantage of the presence of strong forces such as the third contingent of ‘otherworld’. We will protect Arevelk in our own strength, and still receive help if you are willing to give it. If it does not get help, His Highness Sigiz says it is not a problem, because Arevelk has a loyal army.”

It was clear to Zvail not to say the weakness of the country he served, while the opportunity was clearly open very wide and close before his eyes, on the other hand offers of assistance from Indonesia, North Korea, he said, and Russia is too profitable. And the issue of state security as the Alliance continues to show movement is a dilemma for the Arevelk leadership, particularly the country's military. The government wards, regional nobles, chieftains, as well as the military higher-ups did not want the people to fall into chaos, or it would cause Arevelk to have new problems that were severe enough to deal with.

If Arevelk had to face the enemy without help, then they would do so bravely until the fight was over. Honestly speaking, for Zvail the Alliance is the biggest obstacle to the peace that it desperately wants to obtain.

After hearing Zvail's remarks about the loyal Arevelk army, Tam was struck by Otsoa's remarks about the state of the country. Even the sensation says something when Zvail is so trusting with his troops loyal to Arevelk, precisely something that might make Zvail freeze and do not know what to respond to his words later.

“I also have information that ‘not accidentally’ I got, this is about the situation Kingdom Arevelk.”

“I want the information to be accurate and without the slightest lie,” Zvail said with a threatening face and tone, but it did not make Tam tremble in the least.

The reason Tam had to say the information was his job as a double agent, with his main owner being the Guild. Saying something is a very simple thing, but Tam still does not know the risks he will face after saying it.

“There was someone in the Arevelk military who was disillusioned with the government that decided to go to war with the Guild, so the man planned a coup. That person wants Arevelk to fight alongside the Alliance and expel the people of ‘otherworld’ from the Holy Land.”

“We do suspect someone is planning such a bad thing, but I didn't expect it to actually happen.”

“Finding the coup plotters must be very difficult,” complained Chung-Hwa.

“Very bad. I never thought the situation in our country would be that bad. If we realize it from the beginning, surely the civil war will not happen in the near future.”

“But, Mr. Zvail, a civil war would not have occurred if Arevelk had done an investigation. So, don't you think Arevelk will get hurt with the civil war.”

The only thing Angga could do was to calm Zvail who was completely confused after knowing the information Tam had given him.

Indeed, war is an unexpected thing, where there is not only fighting and bloodshed between enemies who accompany a war. Even fellow friends can hurt each other when war is going on, and that will usually worsen the situation of the disaster-hit country called ‘civil war’. Zvail really wanted it prevented, however and whatever it took to avoid Arevelk and the civil war.

“Do we need to put troops along the border line of the Kingdom of Arevel with the Luan Empire, as well as the Kingdom of Yekirnovo, as well as some important cities of the two countries?”

It was clear for Angga to respond to Leon's suggestion with an answer “Not possible”. Unfortunately, it was much harder to do than he had imagined. And that is his biggest dilemma as the leader of the Peace Forces, precisely the fact that Angga can not refuse the request of Indonesian allies, both from the home world and allies from this world.

“Arevelk has five forts along the border with Luan Empire, we have stationed quite a number of troops there.”

What the Guild needed was a tactic and something to end the war with the Alliance before the Great War Period arrived. That was why the army had to uncompromisingly do things that had never been done before, such as placing nearly two hundred thousand Arevelk soldiers along the border line with the Luan Empire.

“Mr Zvail, can the move effectively reduce the movement of the Alliance at the border? As your ally, I feel I have to worry about such a move.”

“You need not worry, Mr. Angga.”

“Oh, although Arevelk's forces are required to fight under growing Alliance pressure?”

“Maybe not, but,” Zvail continues with a weak smile,” We have – “

Before Zvail finished his words, suddenly someone opened the door loudly without any warning at all. The five of them felt the battle defending the Black Fortress should have been over, and ended without any problems.

“North Nio! Finally you come back too,” Angga spoke with a happy face.

Unfortunately, Nio was not interested in responding to Angga's words. He walked up to Zvail with an intimidating look using his only eyes. He looked extremely exhausted, having had to help deal with the twenty thousand Alliance troops that had been defeated. Even Nio had not had time to clean the mud and blood stains that were stuck in his snow camouflage uniform.

“Mr Zvail, if the coup plot really happened, then putting troops along the border line is a very stupid act!”

It was the surprise attack that Zvail had received, and of course the reaction of the five high-ranking Guilds and Tam was obvious. The six of them were very surprised by Nio speaking without adab to the person who had a higher standing than him, and was of course older than Nio.

Unfortunately, Nio did not consider his actions a mistake at all.

“I hope you have a reasonable reason for your words, Nio,” Zvail said in a calm tone despite Nio giving him a threatening look.

“Alright, I will speak.. four eyes with you, Mr. Zvail.”.
