“Edera, is there any place you want to visit?”
Serving as Nio's shopping companion after defeating the girls, Edera smiled brightly. They both got off the motorcycle after driving while breathing dirty air caused by confensional fuel combustion.
Looking around, Edera saw several teenage girls walking in groups of two to six. They seemed to match the clothes each wore, causing Edera to be curious.
“Tokes.”
Nio walked behind Edera, heading into the shopping mall. Because almost never entered the vast ‘indoor’ market, Nio and Edera let out expressions of admiration as they looked at every corner of the crowded mall. He followed Edera to a clothing store, and not just any clothing store. Because it was filled by famous brands, many people just stood in front of the shop windows.
Since they visit on weekends, there are many teenage couples dating here. Looking at some lovers, with the woman talking flirtatiously to her boyfriend while holding hands or hugging shoulders, Nio wondered how others looked at the two of them. But, as he imagines, people think of himself and Edera as a couple, Nio did not want that to happen or Zefanya would shoot him in the head from a distance of 4 kilometers using a low-explosive bullet that caused the body of the target to be damaged.
“You Miss Edera, one of the otherworldly people who has real cat ears?!”
A woman in her 40s with the rank of manager coming out of the store said as she walked up to Edera with an amazed expression. Hearing his words, some people stopped, surprised, then took pictures of Edera who was in the mall with a mysterious man like a thug.
Edera couldn't take it anymore, and she looked at Nio with eyes afraid for him to help her.
Nio smiled, and saw Edera being brought in by the store manager with good intentions. Only a few groups of uncivilized maniacs fantasized about wanting ‘play’ with Edera that made her want to shoot them. Nio did not want the disgusting anime enthusiast to follow Edera or the otherworldly girls, so he could not turn his eyes on the girl. He stood in an alert manner, as if there were enemies around him.
However, he still could not let his own life stiffen. As a normal human being who is not a workaholic, he feels he still needs entertainment for his physical and mental health.
After all, if there really was an enemy that made Edera a target, even if the Nio nature vocation ritual lasted too long, they acted in place with many witnesses, he said, plus every corner of the mall is fitted with a surveillance camera. As a young man he still wanted to travel, but without leaving his supervision of Edera.
As Nio toured the men's clothing zone, Edera was pulled over by the store manager who followed her two staff. Edera did not want herself to be the center of attention of many people, but she was already on the rise after the news that she was helping the TNI mission in another World facing the Alliance. He could feel relieved when he saw Nio walking around by himself in the same clothing store area as him.
“Nona Edera, how old are you?” manager asked. She just wanted to ascertain whether the majority of the otherworldly women had an age that was far from her appearance. After Sigiz's recognition of her age, people began to think all otherworldly women were equal to her.
In a nervous tone, Edera replied, “Uuumm, 18 years ago.”
After Edera said the sentence, the manager gave the code to his men and they immediately rushed over. He pulled the cat-eared girl with a sek*sual villain-like expression and said, “Don't be afraid, Miss Edera. It's okay if we make a model for today?”
Two store staff brought all kinds of clothes, and looked at Edera like a playful doll. Her fighting fashion almost appears if the people who drag her into the dressing room just want to make her a fashion show, and show that the fashion of women of this world should be suitable if worn by other world women.
All clothes carried are worn, then removed, take off the clothes worn, and then wear them. The sequence lasted dozens of times until Edera showed a look of admiration at the 20th style she wore. He wore a shirt covered in a long coat for outerwear without showing excessive curves, with trousers made of material that showed the shape of his legs. The manager slightly modified the pants by making a hole in the bottom of the back of the pants, so that the tail of the Edera cat is not restrained inside the pants and moves freely outside.
Unlike Edera, Nio with no regard for the suspicious gazes given the shop staff walked in the row of clothes hung on the goal. Although he had a decent supply of clothes, he more often wore field uniforms that were rarely washed. However, the one item he had been looking for the most was the cela*na da*lam to protect his black missile. Serving in the field in an indeterminate amount of time made her rarely bathe and wash her clothes. Worse, after fighting he spent a lot of supplies of cela*na da*lam because it was heavily or lightly damaged because it could not withstand his black missile. Although the troops gave the soldiers clothes, but often there was no supply of clothes in the warehouse. If the clothes are damaged, they have to repair themselves or buy at the minimarket.
When Nio sees a mannequin wearing ************, Edera steps out of the locker room and amazes visitors and store staff.
The Edera, which has cat ears and tails, looks like a foreign model, and is quickly surrounded by mall visitors. The staff realized that their manager's act of bringing Edera was to attract many visitors to their store.
People who read and see news discussing other worlds wonder, “Is she a girl from another world?” when I saw Edera. When Edera decided to buy clothes that she showed, she got special treatment and discounts as a form of thanks for bringing many visitors. Of course, the cost was borne by the Edera in charge as long as the girl was in Indonesia.
“No problem, how much is it?” nio said as he pulled out his wallet calmly.
“Total is 10 million rupiah normal price, after discount to 8 million, Kak,” replied the store manager with a friendly expression.
“Wait, if Edera clothes are that expensive, what is the price of this ab*ak-semp*ak,” Nio said with an annoyed expression as he pointed to the mannequin who exhibited the disgrace*na da*lam man patterned pink flowers.
“Normal price 300 thousand rupiah, after discount to 250 thousand rupiah, Kak.”
“Damn, what makes clothes so expensive when it finally becomes a table cloth or stove!”
“Stay swipe (credit card) what's the trouble?”
“Pay with a look can not?”

After exiting the mall, the two of them walked side by side to the parking lot talking about the usual chat. Most of those who spoke were Edera, discussing trivial events before or after working with Nio. Nio nodded in response while carrying a large plastic bag filled with groceries, but with a gloomy expression when he realized his childhood was not as heavy as Edera when the girl told him about the topic.
Nio stops abruptly, seeing a re-recording of Suroso's state speech broadcast on a large public TV at a crossroads. The president spoke with a stern expression about his plan to file a Bill regarding the rights of citizens of ‘ping’ and orphans of forgotten war victims.
Nio wondered if the Bill Suroso was talking about would be accepted, and the rights of the suburban residents returned. Since the rumors of Bacem Village easily seizing land and houses belonging to the community spread, both residents and the suburbs felt uneasy. Nio desperately hoped for the plan to materialize, and he obtained additional clues about Bacem Village.
News of the Bacem Village conflict with suburban residents, especially orphans who have inheritance rights to their land and parents' homes began to be raised recently. Yesterday, a child from the suburbs claimed to get a message from someone, as well as four friends. They were taken to the riverbank, then shot in the head before they could open their eyes. Only one child survived, saying it was a few minutes late because of the loss of his right sandal.
After the war, suburban children were the target of discrimination by city people, although such actions were rarely heard. There is a potential attempt to seize the rights belonging to the children of the periphery, but very few can be called ‘defenders’ children and fringe people.
Nio felt that the bad match towards Bacem Village was not only an event related to Strong Medicine, there was a possibility of their actions being worse. If the murder of four suburban children was carried out by the Bacem Village Guards, Nio felt he already had one initial clue to find other cases involving a mysterious area. If the organizers of this period's government were a bunch of people who understood the circumstances, Nio wouldn't have bothered to come up with a plan. In fact, he would rather leave everything to Suroso.
“Tuan Nio, what makes you stand sculpting?” ask Edera.
Nio quickly returned to reality. When he realized, the news had already moved to the next topic, and Edera looked at him with a puzzled expression.
“Sorry, I'm just daydreaming. Come.”
As they continued their way to the parking lot, there was a crowd across the mall street. The curious expressions of Nio and Edera were the same, they were wondering what was going on there. Among the crowd sounded an angry shout, causing the crowd to emit a bloodthirsty aura. Nio didn't know anything, but he felt a bad feeling.
Nio's premonition told him to leave his current place as quickly as possible.
“Edera, I'm afraid we'll get involved in that matter. Come quickly go.”
“Catch him!” at the same time, a loud voice shouted that line, causing the crowd to break apart and a boy to run as fast as he could. The boy was carrying a red plastic bag full of food. The logo on the plastic bag comes from one of the minimarkets where Nio and Edera shop for food supplies.
At first glance, Nio knew that he was a child living in the suburbs. In addition, the gaze that was able to make others pity had an effect on Edera.
The hands of the previously clustered people reached out to the skinny body of the boy. Most of them were teenagers and adult men, and using the big hands holding the child's small body, even Nio could hear a sound like a broken twig from the child. The instant and light food fell from the plastic bag, strewn to Nio's feet.
“Shut!” the boy's face clung tightly to the hot asphalt, with a teenager twisting his right hand over his back until the boy thrashed. Not a single spectator pitied him.
“Basic maling, this country's trash!”
“Good. Now there's no one like him here.”
“Stop fighting back, you thief!”
“Why do people like him still exist?”
Nio patted the shoulder of a man nearby as he heard hurtful words from people, “Pak, what is this?”
“What's up? The dog stole food in the stall and injured its owner who tried to stop him!”
Nio then looked at Edera's face, the girl showing a frightened and pale expression. He had already thought Edera would be like that, other than the girl standing trembling. At the same time, the boy who was not Edera knew stared at him.
The people who aggravate the face of this country will be treated like that boy, Edera thought. The boy looked normal, and there was no sign of him committing theft because of someone's manners. He still looked at Edera and stretched out his hand to ask for help.
Nio quickly brushed off the boy's hand and glared at him, as if to say, “Do not involve Edera!”
The boy looked even sadder, but his expression of fear grew bigger as Nio looked at him sharply.
“What happened exactly?” a police officer breaks up the crowd to control the situation. There were two policemen who arrived, but Nio felt that there was something strange about them. But, he thought there was the right side to end the severe situation. However, with a cold gaze a policeman looked at the boy from the suburbs and said, “Oh.”
The two policemen forced the boy to stand up after putting handcuffs on both of his skinny wrists, without asking people around about what was really going on. When the two of them did not ask for information on the case, that was what made Nio suspicious in addition to several other things.
“What is the right action to handle a small child?” muttered Nio in the heart. Even with just a voice, he could make the Alliance captives stand up with a look of trepidation.
Glancing at Nio with a shocked expression, the two policemen saluted him for no reason then pushed the boy into the car, and left. Are they real cops or fake? Nio only had a little time to observe the two policemen and find the answer to that question.
After the boy left, the crowd split into three groups and spread out while grumbling. There's only Nio and Edera now at the scene. There was nothing to help the boy, nothing he could do about it. Feeling uncomfortable, Nio invited Edera home immediately. However, the girl looked at him while clenching her hands.
“Why didn't you help the boy, Mr Nio?!” Edera yelled at Nio.
Nio speechless. Edera's pupils turned sharp like a cat finding its prey, she regretted Nio's actions. The people who passed by them stared with suspicious expressions. Nio was shaken, and thought of the answer to Edera's question.
“You how else, I don't want us involved in the kid's deed.”
“But you brushed off the hand of the person asking for help!” said Edera.
“There are things we should and should not do. The boy was clearly committing theft. Even the suburbs are known to be bad, stealing is still an act not allowed!” without thinking, Nio answered logically even though he knew his words were only pouring gasoline in the fire.
“That's just your excuse. If you want to save him, you can. You are the hero, the protector of people like that child. There's nothing you can't do, Mr Nio!”
“Don't call me a hero. In fact, the real hero should avoid anything that harms him. I can't do anything, I'm just an ordinary person,” after saying that, Nio pulled Edera's right hand. The girl showed a sad expression, with both eyes holding back tears.
“Edera, do you have any reason to help the boy?” Nio asked, but hesitated.
Edera nodded with a sad expression, “Sure. Brother once stole food like that child for my sake, and seeing him hurt by so many people was much worse than that child. I know the boy was forced to do the deed, he may still have a family expecting him to bring food.”
Nio questioned his conscience when he rejected the boy's request for help, he didn't think of anything while doing so.
Nio has no time to make a decision, so, “Edera, can you go home without me. I'll call the patrolling company members to drop you off.”
“Hah?” reply Edera.
After contacting Company 406-32 headquarters to send a guard to drive Edera home, Nio quickly ran to where his motorcycle was parked. When he was about to exit the parking area, officers approached him and asked for parking fees. However, making use of his work, Nio took out a member card and approached it to the face of that parking attendant, “I am a soldier, there is an enemy near here, I need to hurry!”
“Don't lie, just pay 2,000 what's hard?”
“From your uniform, you must be a wild carpenter, right? You think we can settle this matter peacefully?”
Pakrir ‘ilegal’ was surprised after hearing Nio's statement, and with a blank look Nio exited the parking area quietly. Nio and his motorbike drove towards the direction the police car was heading for.
He wasn't wearing a helmet, so he ignored the traffic rules. If he is stopped from being cracked down on, Nio plans to thrust his member's card into the face of the traffic police, and make them understand the situation. The existence of enemies in Karanganyar is not a lie, but their existence is widely felt.
Imagining what punishment the boy would receive made Nio much more nervous than risking an accident. Why did the police take the boy without asking a single question to the perpetrator and the victim? Is that the police procedure today? Such questions filled Nio's mind, until he realized the direction the police car was heading was not the local police station. If they continued to advance, it would get closer to the uninhabited area near the outskirts of the city.
Nio was not a devout man of worship, but he prayed to the God he trusted to save the boy. As he prayed, the badly damaged asphalt road upset the balance of Nio who was still riding his motorcycle. The entire building in this area was destroyed after the war, and will never be repaired.
When he thinks of the many acts of lawlessness such as spouses and transactions of prohibited items of the law in the area near the outskirts of this city, Nio saw a police car near the collapsed cell tower. Nio braked for about 50 meters before reaching the car so as not to be too suspected. Then he hid his motorcycle in what was previously a workshop, then approached carefully.
