High School Soldier

High School Soldier
Stupid lieutenant

Lisa can only stand while sculpting when the luxury car she was riding with Arunika stops in front of the gate of a house. The two men who picked them up also got off the driver's seat and the front passenger, then stood behind the two girls. Several times Lisa gulped, she could not believe if at this time she was standing in front of the house of one of the richest people in Indonesia. Lisa's expression was now like a mix between showing feelings of awe, confusion, and uneasiness.

“He never said his family was very rich. So all this time he was just pretending to live a simple life with Nio?” lisa muttered in her heart with a feeling of uneasiness.

The house that can be referred to as ‘istana’ or castle because it is surrounded by two-meter-high walls is in one corner of Jumapolo Subdistrict, still included in the Karanganyar City area. Standing on a land of two hectares, and is a large enough building compared to the houses around it, clearly makes the house look very striking.

In particular, the Karanganyar Garrison patrol officers passed through the area where the large house was built. But now, there were no patrolmen touring the region, and only a few drones were seen replacing human servicemen on patrol duty flying over the skies of Jumapolo.

White –-like walls made of marble decorate the entire wall of the house, including the wall. Trees deliberately trimmed in uniform shapes and black iron lamp posts mix to create a beautiful contrast to today's bright afternoon sunshine.

“About how long have I not been to this house?”

“About ten years, Non Arunika,” replied one of the gallant men standing behind him.

Just by looking at the way Arunika was staring at the mansion, Lisa could guess if the girl was a family member of the owner of the palace. No wonder why the two gallant men behind them both call Arunika by the name of noble girl or nobleman, namely ‘Nona’.

Lisa can guess if the price of the car she was riding in was equivalent to the basic salary she taught for sixty years, if the amount of salary she received remained consistent in the range of 3 million rupiah per month. So, he can not imagine the price of the house aka the palace, because he could have had to save for hundreds of years to buy such a house. So, there was only one word that Lisa thought about Arunika's status, “She was truly a formidable opponent, other than two queens from another world! He really kept this from me!”

“Non Arunika, let's meet Ndoro Kakung immediately. He must have been very surprised by your arrival. In addition, it is impolite to make your friend stand for too long.”

“Eh, so you two picked me up not because of Mbah Kakung?”

When the two of them were visiting a meatball stall standing near Pancasila Park to fill their free time, they accidentally saw Arunika and Lisa sitting in the park. In addition, their master who was called Ndoro Kakung was always talking about Arunika and Nio who had not set foot in his house for a very long time. Although Nio is the stepson of his daughter who remarried to Nio's father, Nio is still one part of the family.

Due to their master's longing for his two grandchildren, the two men can easily bring Arunika back to meet her grandfather, although not Nio and Lisa.

“O-oy, you never said you were the 100th richest family member in the world!”

“Heheh,” Arunika chuckled after seeing Lisa's expression which was very surprised.

“Heheh? Your neck!”

Clearly Arunika's social status with Lisa is far adrift, and Lisa feels she does not deserve to enter the luxurious house owned by the Arunika family. Since the bus stop was only about fifty meters away, Lisa planned to escape for her mental health.

However, after Lisa left her place standing two steps away, one of the gallant men suddenly blocked her steps by standing in front of her. Lisa almost hit the big body of the man, and stared at the firm face of the man in front of her with a restless look.

“You still have to accompany Non Arunika,” said the man who blocked Lisa's steps.

“Bi-let's try? Entar I even thought people wanted to ask for donations again.”

Lisa really could not believe that Arunika was not really an orphan, because she still had a family, so only Nio had no family after the death of his father. However, since Nio's father was once married to Arunika's mother, it is certain that Nio remains a member of the palace's family. That's why Lisa can justify her words describing her social status differences with friends and people she likes.

Just as the enemy suddenly retreated during the previous war when they almost managed to control important Indonesian cities, Lisa wanted to do the same. The difference is, the enemy attacked again suddenly even though it can be defeated, so if Lisa continues her competition against Arunika can be sure it will eventually be like an enemy from another world.

However, Lisa said it in a pretty loud tone, until some of the residents of the house came out to make sure what happened. Then, an elderly man in his 60s was seen walking with two female servants. Seeing that, Lisa assumed that the old man was the owner of the house and Arunika's grandfather.

The old man seemed unable to walk normally, so had to use the help of a cane and accompanied by two helpers as supervisors in case of unwanted things.

“Ndoro Kakung, why don't you just use a wheelchair?” one of the men who picked up Arunika and Lisa approached the old man, then helped him walk a little faster.

“I mung meng nudakke Arunika yen I fill strongly mlaku dhewe, (I just want to show Arunika that I still have the strength to walk alone)”

Because Lisa was only a newcomer to Karanganyar City, she did not understand the old man's words at all. He is from Bandung, and moved to Surakarta to study at one of the colleges and met with Arunika. Because she does not have enough experience in an environment where the majority of Java users speak, Lisa can only communicate in Indonesian.

Arunika and her grandfather finally looked at her with a smile after a very long time of not meeting. Indeed this was a very surprising meeting for the old man, but he knew that Arunika must still feel awkward after a long time without meeting. Even so, the girl still approached her grandfather to kiss the back of the old man's palm.

“Finally you brought a friend too yes, Arunika.”

“Yes, she's Lisa, from Bandung.”

Hearing the words and expressions of Arunika's grandfather who seemed happy with her presence, Lisa's feelings who had been worried about something now began to change.

**

Lisa sat beside Arunika with an awkward expression. Meanwhile, in front of him was Arunika's grandfather named Supardi as well as some people who seemed to be members of the man's family besides Arunika.

“But wide. Though only a dining room, but the breadth may be the same as the house of Nio,” Lisa said in her heart with both eyes glancing around the luxurious dining room. Although he said that, but Lisa still can not compare the house owned by Nio that he was riding with the dining room of this palace.

In addition, since the number of employed domestic assistants is not comparable to the breadth of this house, dozens of helper robots are operated twenty-four hours and alternate with each other. The robots are programmed as domestic assistants, so they can do everything related to the needs of a family.

Some robots are tasked with cleaning the floor with human domestic assistants, some robots can be fitted with small propellers such as those on unmanned aircraft, so that it can reach high places such as roofs and windows or other high places. The robots can be programmed as reliable cooks, although some domestic assistants still have to supervise the work of the Supardi family's cook robots.

Auxiliary robots can also be additional home guards if the assistant in charge of watching the surveillance cameras is asleep, and will sound like a very loud siren if suspicious movements are seen.

Two housekeepers dressed as European waiters or cafe waiters in Akihabara walked towards the dining table with two robot helpers while carrying trays containing food and several glasses complete with his carafe.

“Totally different from her home Nio,” Lisa muttered after seeing two robot helpers put a tray with side food smoothly.

“He does not like such robots too much, he prefers to use his own power,” replied Arunika.

The two of them then took rice according to taste and side dishes that numbered in the dozens of types. The reason why it was served this much food was to welcome Arunika who ended up visiting this house after a long time of living apart. Meanwhile, Lisa just stared in awe at the side dishes served, because she quite rarely enjoyed the expensive-looking food.

“While you and Nio can stay here, but you choose to separate and live independently,” Supardi said after swallowing his food.

“Did Mbah have forgotten my wish when I graduated High School?”

“Yah... independent living is not wrong, but rarely communicate with me still makes me sad, Arunika.”

“If about that, I'm sorry, Mbah.”

Arunika had stopped eating, and put on an awkward face and did not dare to look Supardi in the eyes. It also made Lisa feel the same way, and put a spoon on the edge of the plate to wait for Arunika to act.

“What's up, Arunika and dik Lisa? It's okay, I know why you rarely call me and the rest of our family. Come, quickly eat.”

Humans living in Indonesia can be said to be very lucky, because the country still has very many uninhabited islands to be used and used as additional agricultural land and livestock, he said, or permanent residence if the population of a region is very dense, because at this time there are more than 380 million people living in Indonesia.

Compared to developed countries, Indonesians can still enjoy vegetables, fruit, and native meat, although for some things synthetic food is still needed, such as rations on soldiers. When a family in Indonesia cuts a steak made from real chicken or beef, and is cheap. Meanwhile families in Singapore or European countries can still enjoy synthetic meat steaks, which are made from protein and made as closely as possible both in taste and appearance to the original meat. If you want to eat real meat or vegetables, of course, some countries have to import these goods from agricultural countries, although citizens in those countries have to complain about the expensive price.

Both Arunika and Lisa did not enjoy their food very much, and were reminded of Nio who was still on duty in another world. They think that if there, Nio only ate roasted chicken rations and meat rendang made from synthetic meat, and not as wise as real meat. In addition, the job of being an officer would definitely be very difficult, so they understood that Nio always complained when communicating with the two of them.

“Oh... Arunika, what is you?”

“Arunica? Mana, it's been a long time we didn't meet with him.”

The voices of women and men were heard from near the dining table, then a woman in her 45s was seen, but in a not-too-distant appearance with Arunika and Lisa. Behind him, a well-dressed 40-year-old man gives his suit and briefcase to a robot assistant to put in his room.

“Who are the two of them?” ask Lisa.

“My uncle and aunt,” replied Arunika with a contrived smile for the sake of formality towards the two people.

“But, your aunt looks not too far with us about age, surely she's the type of Nio.”

The two men walked in the same direction, the dining table. Aunt Arunika who looked quite young walked gracefully in her high heels, and made Arunika and Lisa look at her with great admiration.

Arunika's uncle Reza and her aunt Novita sat facing each other on the empty dining table. They simultaneously looked at Arunika with a smile, and made the girl even more awkward.

“This time you brought a friend, yes. But, where is Nio?” Novita asked as she sipped the tea that the housekeeper had poured.

“Novita, don't you know Nio is now a soldier?” Reza then replied in a relaxed tone while pouring a few spoons of rice.

“You turned out to lose to the same father about news updates yes, Novita,” Supardi said in a mocking tone to make Novita bear the shame.

As Reza and Novita began to eat the food they had taken themselves, Supardi had finished his meal. A little while later after finishing his drinking water, Supardi asked Arunika.

“Not him a pretty flashy TRIP officer? So, where is Nio assigned now?”

Arunika and Lisa actually look at each other, and are both confused to answer Supardi's questions. On the other hand, Supardi, Reza, and Novita are both still waiting for answers from them with faces full of hope.

“In the New World. He was one of the soldiers sent back to the New World after the first great war against the Alliance.”

Half a millisecond later, the atmosphere suddenly became silent, and only the sound of an assistant robot cleaning the house sounded. The shocked expressions of Supardi, Reza, and Novita were both not hidden, and it was obvious that the three of them were very shocked by the answer Arunika gave to the question the girl had received.

“So...he was once caught in that deadly war? He was with the Expeditionary Force against 300,000 enemy troops there?” Novita said with both eyes rounded and spoke in a tone of disbelief.

“Not that Nio can return safely is a miracle? Aren't you, Arunika?" Reza had an exaggerated look of admiration.

When Reza and Novita threw questions after questions to Arunika about Nio's career as a soldier, Supardi just seemed to smile and remember something. What he remembered about Nio was that the man was quite mischievous and would fight with anyone who threatened him, as well as frequently complaining about something he did not like.

When news of the Expeditionary Force's return from the New World battlefield, more than two thousand TNI soldiers were brought back in coffins enveloped by red and white flags. The war was the most terrible according to Supardi, and felt Nio had fought desperately to fight against an enemy that could potentially harm Indonesia again.

Supardi also knew that Nio was now one of the teenage officers and one of the TRIP personnel who had the potential to be raised to the first officer of the Army Main Force Command.

However, there are things that make it a little upset, namely most people who call TRIP soldiers not the name they should be, but rather call them ‘Sma’ Soldiers just because most of the personnel are still between sixteen to twenty-nine years old. So Supardi hopes the existence of Nio in TRIP is able to make the unit more famous.

According to Supardi, the rank of First Lieutenant Nio received was a fair enough reward for his dedication to the country. Sadly, those in power cannot see their original struggle when faced with the relentless invasion of the enemy, so that only provide assistance that is considered appropriate to be given to soldiers who have fought beyond the main task given by the state. They are actually heroes, but many people do not want to admit it.

“How terrible was that war. Even after the war ended, there were still wars that made us lose many soldiers. And for Nio who can survive to this day and be sent back to the New World battlefield, he really is something. I think he can surpass his father.”

Arunika smiled after hearing Supardi boast Nio, as well as the people sitting on the dining table chairs right now.

Novita looks quite surprised after Arunika shows Nio wearing a new full combat outfit for the Peace Forces. According to the unmarried woman until now, Nio looks very dashing for a 20-year-old teenager. He was completely enchanted by the aura of a true warrior Nio possessed despite only seeing it through photos.

Seeing her aunt showing a threat, Arunika immediately put her phone back in her clothing pocket, although her actions make Novita look very upset.

“Nio, may it be for me?,” said Novita with a smile full of threats, according to Lisa and Arunika.

“Tante, mending looking for other droves, deh,” Lisa said in a sarcastic tone because she realized that Novita is an aged woman who likes men younger than her.

Looking at the behavior of his sister and son, Reza and Supardi could only sigh this time. The two of them had given up on telling Novita to get married quickly, but the woman preferred to work in the family company. Women's taste for young men is not normal in the social environment, but indeed no one can impose personal will on others.

Being a soldier means every day practicing outdoors with different types of exercises. If they do it regularly, the muscles of the soldier's body will be formed and make them look gallant. Their skin would also become darker than when they were still civilians. That's what attracted Novita to Nio, and he was confident in his 25-year-old appearance.

**

In total, they were about forty people, including five children whose innocent gazes made the girls become anxious. However, Nio ordered his subordinate girls not to touch the kitten-eared children and the rabbits carelessly, or the children would consider what they were doing a threat.

The refugees who were all from the Demihuman race were in dire circumstances. They only carried what they could carry and did not burden the body to move quickly if chased by the Alliance soldiers, even some of them might not carry anything but the clothes worn since the escape.

Nio could not allow all of these refugees to just walk out of this forest, as he would dig up some information from them. The information he got remained the same as he had imagined, that they were a group of people fleeing the Empire because the country was in trouble.

“First of all, what's your name? Do you know what happened to the Empire? Did something bad happen there?”

Nio is now interrogating a raccoon-eared Demihuman teenage girl. Although Nio asked in a relaxed tone, but not with the person he was interrogating.

“I Ebal. They... send troops to attack our residence,” finally a teenage girl named Ebal answered Nio's question. However, Nio was not satisfied with just one answer.

“What Empire or Alliance is going on something?”

“I heard they want an extra army, which will be used as a quick killing unit. Alliance attacked, set fire to the house, then forcibly took some young men and women.”

What Nio had heard from Edera was that both the Demihumans of the Luan Empire and the Alliance member states were treated like livestock. They are allowed to breed, then the children who are born will be awaited until their mature age, then take children or people who feel capable to fight as additional soldiers or special forces. Ordinary humans of the Alliance member states regarded Demihumans as a group of half-human beasts that were barbaric, and not too far away with animals. Thus, they considered restricting and regulating the lives of the Demihumans to be illegal.

When it comes to war, the Alliance certainly needs a large number of soldiers, but they cannot recruit a limited number of ordinary human soldiers. They kept limiting the age of a soldier on the advice of two heroes who were previously Israeli and Indonesian soldiers. On learning that if the Demihuman race had special fighting abilities, then the Alliance recruited them forcibly.

There were hundreds of Demihuman tribes scattered in the Alliance member countries. When they heard that the life of the Demihuman race and the half-monster humans in the Kingdom of Arevelk were highly valued, they planned to move to the country.

“So that's why your villages were destroyed and the men and women who were able to fight were forcibly recruited? I think they're just an organization that just thinks numbers are everything.”

Nio said in a mocking tone. However, Ebal of course did not know what Nio was saying, as the man muttered using Indonesian.

“You're another world warrior, right?” ebal asked in a trembling tone, and his hands did not stop moving to reduce his nervousness when he received some questions from Nio.

“I am a contingent soldier of Indonesia, one of the allies of the Kingdom of Arevelk from another world.”

“What in your world is there a group of people who fared just like us? I mean, did in your home world also happen to war?”

If Nio answers Ebal's question with ‘iya’, of course Ebal does not know what kind of war is going on in his home world. The girl only knew if war caused so many people to be made homeless and family members by being forced to fight or killed by the enemy. Even he knew that evacuating was not a good option, because it did not mean that the Arevelk Kingdom would treat the newcomers like their original citizens.

In addition, Nio does not know whether civil wars in African and Middle Eastern countries, or armed conflicts in the Middle East against terror*is or wars against ra* organizations*it can be likened to the war he fought in this world.

So, what Nio felt needed to say was:

“We are sent to this world to make war against the Alliance the last of all wars that will or are going on, both in this world and in our home world. What do you want to do to end this war?”

“Fight together, of course.”

The rabbit-eared race is known to have fast fighting abilities like the cat-eared race. Ebal was one of the fighters from one of the rabbit breeds that lived in the Luan Empire. Some tribes are inhabited by two or more races, although some tribes are inhabited by only one race.

“Are you like Edera?”

Ebal was surprised by Nio's words as if he could see his true identity, then said, “Do you have the ability to see the identity of someone just by staring at the target?”

Unfortunately, what Nio looked at when saying that was not both eyes of Ebal, but the face and body parts of the girl were striking in some parts. Nio's male instincts and brain agree that the Demihuman race and the beautiful adult woman are perfect. So the question a moment ago was just a guess that happened to be almost right.

“Eh, yes, anu... so you have fast fighting ability like Edera?”

“True. Although we are able to fight, the Alliance continues to attack using a large army, and uses strange weapons that can explode and kill quickly.”

Even the Alliance did a terrible thing to a group of people using a weapon created by Hero Lust*su. Sadly, Nio could only imagine all the Alliance's treatment of the Demihuman race. It could have been such an incident not only in the Luan Empire, but in the entire Alliance member state.

Looking at the charming-looking Demihuman girl and woman, Nio could guess what the male soldiers of the Alliance would be if their desires were unstoppable after the assault.

However, Nio was unable to deduce the arguments of his own creation. He'll know once Ebal answers his question.

“What are the Alliance soldiers doing worse than attacking and forcibly bringing people?”

Ebal's expression changed instantly after Nio asked the question, his eyes glancing sideways with both hands constantly moving. The girl's lips also seemed to be trembling, so Nio knew the answer to her question even though the girl did not answer it.

“Lettan, we found this while checking some of them.”

Nio glanced at Hendra who was carrying an arrow, some daggers, and a short sword.

“Wait, when do I order you to do a search? I just ordered you to check, right? Let Edera and Hevaz judge whether they have hidden intentions or not.”

“Yeah, so what we did wrong?”

The corner of Nio's right eye twitched after receiving Hendra's question with his innocent face. That way, Nio argues that a quiet person will become annoying in time.

“Edera, why do they carry various types of weapons?”

“Because they once worked like me, the silent killer. The weapons they brought to defend themselves or there was someone who needed their services.”

The loss of the right hand that Nio suffered could be proof that Edera was indeed a silent killer. Nio admits Edera's fighting style is very annoying, because the movement is much faster than the lesion of a 9mm projectile fired from a gun. He could not imagine having to face dozens of people who had a quick way of fighting like Edera.

“Master, they really have another problem,” said Hevaz who made Nio start to fidget.

“What enemy troops chased them to this forest?” Nio asked with a bitter expression.

“Not..”

Nio and Hevaz both looked around, and only saw forty refugees sitting. They had no home, lost family members, and were pathetic. However, Nio did not see any signs of suspicious movements from the refugees or enemies.

“... They starve.”

“Well, if that I know too.”

TNI soldiers love justice, equality, and brotherhood. Nio gathered the members of his group 1, then ordered them to take out all the supplies brought. The special supplies of food they brought were enough for four days, so Nio had some plans. Dozens of ration packages were issued by them, and created a green-colored plastic wrap hill.

“One T2P can be divided by two people, if it is not enough we can give them TB1. I still have dozens of imukals, so they can hold out for today,” Ika said.

“We also still have a lot of supplies for the next two days, if the patrol duty is not extended,” continued Bima.

Nio then took out ten packs of imukal low-sugar chocolate variants and six T2P packs from his backpack, “ This is still lacking, give all of mine to them. I don't want the children and the elderly starving.”

“What are you doing, Lieutenant? You can't just give your ration of supplies.”

“Ardi, humans can live for a week without food, but they cannot live less than three days without drinking. As long as we can find a drinkable source of water, I don't care. By the way, anyone has wind oil or balm?”

“Well, if what you put into the belly of the water, it's just as dangerous for your body, Let. Besides, why are you asking for wind oil? In the wind?” gita replied in a joking tone.

“Udahlah, you all warm up food for all refugees. As I said earlier, give all my rations to children and the elderly. Where's the balm or wind oil I asked you for?”

They all then carry out Nio's orders with astonished faces, then Gita gives the balm wrapped in a small glass tube to Nio as the man requested. As a medical soldier, he was unable to let the members of the 12th Team suffer from any health problems even if it was just a common cold.

The entire group of 1 members made a simple furnace out of stone, then placed the medium pot on top of the fire that had been lit. Previously, they had poured enough water into the pot, they had poured enough water into the pot, the point is to boil T2P variants of rendang rice and sweet-sour chicken rice wrapped in green plastic to warm and soften hard rice if not warmed.

While waiting for the water to boil, Arif, Herman, and Ga-Eun share their faith with each refugee fairly. Seeing the members look busy, Nio ordered Hassan who led group 2 to continue patrols with Team A of the 002 Aid Company.

Nio opened his backpack to check the rest of his stock in addition to a bottle of drinking water. All of his imukal and T2P have been given to be distributed to refugees, and the remaining ten TB1. Nio is very lazy if you have to bite the hard biscuit even though the taste is not much different from most biscuits. However, one biscuit aka TB1 can make a person full from morning to afternoon, so it is suitable for female soldiers who are on a diet program.

Meanwhile, the patrol will end in over a week. So that Nio felt that his provisions were very sufficient for himself.

“Well, I'm just trying to be a good boss,” Nio muttered to himself.

He took off his transport vest and protective vest and placed it near his backpack on the ground. Overseeing refugees can be used as an extra rest period, although that is not their main task.

Nio walked towards the back of a tree, and lowered the zipper on his forest camouflage outfit. He lifted the shirt to reveal part of his muscular stomach with some sharp incision scars.

He poked the balm with his middle and index fingers on his left hand, then flattened it into his stomach. Nio appreciated the lives of the refugees, so he gave all his provisions for them. If that means he will only consume water and super hard biscuits, then applying a balm on the stomach is not a bad choice.

“Basic, even though he's a bad father in my opinion. But he taught me many things indirectly,” Nio said with a pitiful smile.

When he was a child, Nio had seen his father apply wind oil to his stomach, while the food supply at home was only enough for one person. Although they can only cook rice for one person and one egg for dinner, Nio's father gives it all to himself. While eating voraciously, Nio saw his father standing in the room and smeared something on his stomach.

Out of curiosity, Nio wanted to try what his father did, which was to apply wind oil to his stomach even though he had eaten full. As a result, in addition to feeling his stomach warm, Nio could not feel hungry until tomorrow afternoon. Or rather, he did not feel anything even though he did not eat breakfast until lunch arrived.

Finished applying the balm on his stomach, Nio lowered back his shirt. However, just as he was about to return to his place, Hevaz and Edera stood in front of him and blocked his steps.

“What are you doing here, sir? Aren't you eating with the others?” hevaz asked while carrying a T2P variant of sweet-sour chicken rice.

“What do you apply to your stomach? Is your stomach in trouble?” it was Edera's turn to ask.

The two of them gave a gaze that made Nio completely unable to avoid it.

“Nothing. You can eat first. Sweet sour chicken rice and rendang are very tasty, loh,” replied Nio with a contrived smile.

Meanwhile, behind the tree where Nio, Hevaz, and Edera were talking, Gita heard everything, including Nio who put a balm on his stomach. When the stomach is empty.

When hungry and have not eaten anything for a long time, stomach acid can accumulate in the stomach. Stomach acid that accumulates can rise into the esophagus and cause acid reflux, the effect is that it will feel nauseous. Warming the stomach is powerful enough to reduce nausea.

“What that stupid Lieutenant did,” muttered Gita in the heart.
