Love Lightning Old Virgin

Love Lightning Old Virgin
Chapter XXI

“Well, that's what I suspect,” Miss Dior nodded. “But, it's good I tell you, according to Archard, the situation is not like that. He said his father never thought materialistically.”

“Overall,” said Mr Constantine, with great anger, “I have to change my opinion of Oliver if the motive is money! The heartwarming reason for marrying Cherry to her son just because she and my brother are close friends kinda makes me sick of it! I've never liked that guy, you know.”

Miss Dior's eyes were full of laughter. He said very seriously, “For one thing or another, I already thought so. Is there someone you really like, Mr Constantine?”

“Ya, you,” she replied bluntly.

“S-me?” miss Dior said, totally flabbergasted.

The man nodded. “Yes. But, it happened beyond my wishes,”.

That statement made Miss Dior suddenly laugh. With still chuckling, he said, “You're so impolite and you know it! What have I said or done that you liked me? Of all the lies I've heard, this is the most shocking!”

“Oh, no! I never talk nonsense. I like you, but it's a shame that I know why! Not because of your beauty, even if it seems obvious: and certainly not because of something you have said or done. I'm guessing it must be because of your nature a certain thing about yourself.”

“I believe,” said Miss Dior confidently, “You are just making it up.”

Mr. Constantine laughed. “Even the contrary! But, don't fool yourself into thinking my liking for you makes me assume you're the right person to keep my niece.”

“About once!” his reply. “What do you suggest to do about it, Mr?”

“Give him back in his aunt's care, of course!”

“Bring him back to Ome? How stupid the idea is in your mind! That means you have also given your blessing for her marriage to Archard, so?”

“Not, not to Ome! To Cheltenham, of course!”

Miss Dior shook her head. “Oh, I guess you won't be able to do that. The last information we got about poor Madame Raina was, she was in a weakened condition, as well as in the care of Big Lady Oliver's doctor, and since Cherry told me her aunt took weeks to recover from her hysterical convulsions, I would be very doubtful that she would be able to return to her own home for some time to come. Well, I remember, he told me he never wanted to see Cherry again, and even though I didn't really care about it, I find it absolutely impossible to expect him to change his mind before his health is completely restored.”

“I will soon recover his health!” mr. Constantine said with great anger.

“Omong empty! You're more likely to scare him into having a great seizure. And, even if you did make it, you might still have to face Cherry.”

“There will be no trouble about it, I promise!”

“Oh, I have no doubt you can bully him so willing to go with you to Cheltenham!” miss Dior said, with irritating politeness. “What I doubt is your ability to persuade him to stay there.”

Mr. Constantine looked at him with blazing eyes. “I won't bully her, Mistress!”

“Well, you know, I thought you were very wise,” he said, approvingly. “That girl has high spirits, and any attempt on your part to force her will certainly make her angry. He would run away again, and it would really not be good for him to spend the next four years running away. No danger from his first escape, but if he makes it a habit”

“Oh, let's say” cut Mr. Constantine, between annoyance and amusement. “You call me what? Not polite, is it? If you can be disrespectful, Madam, I can too!”

The muscle at the corner of Mr. Constantine's mouth twitched: he saw the mocking gaze of Miss Dior, and suddenly laughed. “Nona Dior,” said, “I lied when I said like you! I really don't like you! I'm even sure I hate you so much!”

“What can I say, Sir, except that your feelings are reciprocated,”.

The man smiled kindly. “Have someone beaten you in a verbal encounter?” tanyakanya.

“No, but it should be remembered only today that I had many opportunities to engage in verbal meetings. The men I previously knew were very different from you in terms of modesty of attitude and behavior!”

“It sure makes them very boring!” comment of the man.

Miss Dior inevitably thought that was an accusation that could not be leveled at him, but she did not say it.

Instead, he advocated, rather unfriendlylyly, they should not waste more time arguing, but should turn their attention to much more important issues.

“If you mean what to do with Cherry” Mr. Constantine stops suddenly while frowning.

“Well, that's exactly what I meant. It would be in vain to bring her back to Madame Raina even if Madame Raina was willing to accept it. Maybe you are the most appropriate person to take care of Cherry”

“Oh, for God's sake, no!” yells.

“No.” Miss Dior agrees. “Very unqualified. You have to hire a well mannered woman to look after him, and I highly doubt if you can find someone suitable for the job. On the one hand, the woman must be clever enough to exercise control over Cherries on the other, she must be patient enough to face your mastery-loving nature, and to obey your most foolish commands without refuting.” He smiled kindly to the man, and added, “Improbable combination, I'm worried, Mr Constantine.”

“I feel relieved! If the unpleasant image you have described is accompanied by the intention to persuade me to entrust my guardianship in your protection”

“Not at all! I would love to keep him until a more suitable plan has been made, but never have I had the slightest intention of keeping him forever. May I propose to you the obligation that must be done immediately is to take care of the problem of his introduction to society? I'm surprised this very obvious obligation is unthinkable to you.”

“Is that so, Madam? Then let me tell you I have arranged a plan for my cousin, Big Lady Trevisian, to introduce her next year!”

“Oh, it can't!” he said quickly. “After enjoying the entertainment offered in Rouen this season, You can't expect her to go back to school that's what will happen to her if you manage to bully Madame Raina into continuing her guardianship duties.”

“Actually, Mistress,” said Mr. Constantine, in a sharp tone, “You have made him dissatisfied which proves how much you are very inappropriate to keep a girl his age even if only temporarily.” She saw that this remark had made Miss Dior's face flutter, and thought she had found a hurt expression in her eyes. It was just a quick glance, but Mr. Constantine said, in a softer tone, “I'm sure you might do it with a good cause, but the consequences of your actions have caused us to be in tremendous chaos.”

“Please don't lie, Sir! You don't think I'm doing everything with a good purpose! You accuse me of trying to make a mess, and I feel very offended by it.”

“I don't do such a thing! And, even if it is true, it will not be as insulting as your accusations, I will bully Madame Raina!” Miss Dior snorted, which resurfaced a happy twinkle in the eyes of Mr. Constantine.

“You are such an unexpected woman!” abugn. “At one moment a respectable woman, at the next moment like a stinging bee! No, don't scowl at me! Really, I don't want to argue!”

“Then, don't lure me!” he said with anger. “Why don't you ask your cousin to introduce Cherry this year?”

“Because I don't like to find myself in a cornered state! He wouldn't do it. Her eldest daughter is getting married in May, and she is already very busy with all the silly things with all the wedding preparations! I could no longer persuade him to introduce Cherry at such a moment just as I could not bully her into doing so!”
