Love Lightning Old Virgin

Love Lightning Old Virgin
LXI CHAPTER

Cherry exhaled ****** sad, but gave up, saying muttering she didn't mean to bother. Big Lady Dior then had the idea of pleasing the girl might want to go outside with Lady Mary, who had to go shopping, and buy some flowers to put in Miss Dior's room. The proposal was good impact. Cherry's face brightened, and she exclaimed, “Oh, yes! I want to do all that, Madam! Thank you!”

However, when the Great Mistress Dior suggested again that she should write a letter to Stonehenge asking him to ride with her the next morning, the girl shook her head, and said steadily there was nothing that would persuade her to go have fun while Miss Dior was sick. It was not expected that Miss Harrow would give up on the beak on the doctor's orders, and indeed she did not give up. Not to mention that Cherry walked out with the housekeeper, Miss Harrow caused Big Lady Dior to experience a grueling half hour, all that while she complains passionately about Elle's arrogance daring to drive her out of Caroline's room: explaining her intention to take care of Caroline herself, whatever the doctor says, conveying heartwarming but confusing words in support of his demands to be the only person worthy of responsibility in the sickroom, and several times begged Grand Madam Dior to agree to whatever anyone said, blood was thicker than water and ended the monologue by explaining, in a triumphant tone, it was, there is no point in Mrs Dior talking about the danger of contracting it because she has been exposed to influenza.

It took some time before Big Lady Dior was able to convince Miss Harrow, and it took a great tactic, but she succeeded in the end, without needing to hurt Miss Harrow's feelings. She said she did not know how she and the nurse would survive if Belevia felt she had to pay attention to Caroline. That's pretty enough. Miss Harrow, with overflowing feelings of affection, said she was ready to do anything in the world to ease the burdens that she knew well were being borne by the dear Great Lady Dior, and then he left, happy to know that his services were irreplaceable.

Unlike Luke or Miss Harrow, Miss Dior is a very good patient. He obeyed the doctor's instructions, swallowed the most disgusting drugs without rebutting, made few requests, complained less often, and firmly refrained from moving around, all he knew was a futile attempt to get into a more comfortable position. As Dr. Andre had predicted, his fever was rising, and though it was outrageous to say he was delirious, his mind was indeed a bit of a stretch, and soon after waking from his uneasy sleep, he exclaimed, “Oh, why didn't he come?” with an angry voice but he soon came to his senses, and after staring for a moment at Elle's face in confusion, which bowed over her, Miss Dior muttered, “Oh, it's you, Elle?! I think I must be dreaming, like.” Elle saw no reason to report this incident to Grand Madam Dior.

His fever began to decline on the second day, but still remained high enough to make Doctor Andre shake his head, and then on the third day his fever disappeared by itself, and did not recur again. After going through this shocking attack, Miss Dior was so tired of it that for the next twenty hours she had no energy to do anything more than swallow, with great difficulty, a little liquid food, or stimulate himself to give a clearer interest in any events that occur in his household. Because most of the time he fell asleep, realizing the feeling of so much relief his bones no longer hurt, and the round windows on his head no longer made his life feel terrible.

On the fourth day, Sir Arthur arrived at Versailles. He had received with calm the news, delivered by his responsible wife, Miss Harrow lying down with influenza, the second letter, which told him Luke had contracted a slight annoyance, but it was not enough to make him ignore the certainty of the Majorie he did not need to feel anxious but the third letter although his wife still begged that he would not come to Rouen, he said, caroline had also succumbed to the epidemic, sending her quickly to Rouen within an hour of receiving the letter. She can't remember events from her sister's childhood when Caroline was exposed to something more serious than a mild flu on the head, and to her, if Caroline could fall ill, she said, it was impossible to know when his Majorie would also lie weak.

Grand Madam Dior greeted her husband with mixed feelings. On the one hand, she was overjoyed to be hugged again by the husband's strong hand: on the other hand, she was overjoyed, he inevitably felt that the presence of the husband in this house would be an additional burden for the housekeeper who had been overburdened by three sick people, one of whom was an additional servant. Grand Madam Dior was an obedient wife, but she knew very well that her husband was useless in the sick room.

In fact, he was more of a hindrance than something precious because by being endowed with excellent health, he had very little experience of pain, he said, and cause the pain relapse again his disease because of speaking in a strong tone of voice, or if warned the sick is very weak condition because he tiptoes into the room, and, he spoke to the patient in a whispering voice and was filled with solemnity, and looked like a man who had come to say goodbye for the last time because there was no hope of recovery.

Mr. Arthur was so relieved to know that his Majorie, instead of lying sick, looked perfectly healthy, but he didn't like his wife all this time waiting in a crib since Luke had influenza. He thought it was strange that no one in the house could look after a baby, and could not be convinced that the Majorie was not tired or bored. The wife laughed at him, and said, “No, no, of course I'm not tired or bored! Do you realize, honey, this is the first time I've taken care of the baby alone? Except for not being able to see Luke, and feeling very anxious about Caroline, I enjoyed every minute of it, and would feel sorry about handing the baby back to the nurse tomorrow. Dr. Andre thinks it's very safe now, but I'm going to keep the baby with me for one more night because he's teething again and it's a little fussy, and I want the nurse to sleep well before she takes care of it again. You need to see Luke now, he's resting. Say something nice to Belevia, will you? He's been very helpful with keeping Luke.”

“Yes, all right, but tell me about Caroline! I was never this shady in my life when I got word she was seriously ill! I could hardly believe my eyes because I don't remember I ever knowing she collapsed before. This must be a pretty great attack!”

They were interrupted by Miss Susan Dior, who had been lying on the sofa at the back of the living room, and who was now awake, fussily calling for attention. Big Lady Dior slid through half the room, and was just about to pick up Miss Susan when Miss Harrow came in in a hurry, and please be allowed to bring the little one.

“Because I saw Mr. Arthur coming, and I knew he would want to talk to you, which is why I've been listening, thinking the baby is very likely to wake up. Oh, how are you Cousin Arthur? It's nice to see you with us again even though I thought you'd feel really anxious when you saw our dear Caroline if Elle let you see her!” He laughed loudly. “I'm sure you'll be surprised to learn Elle has become Queen at Versailles none of us would dare to move a hand or a foot without her consent! In fact, I wasn't allowed to see Caroline until today! Really, I was very comforted, but inevitably I felt sorry for poor Caroline, forced to accept help from her servant when people from her family would be more deserving. However, I don't mind because I know, even though he's a tyrant, I can count on Elle to keep her mistress as good as I would. After all, there was Big Lady Dior who needed to think about, who looked so tired, that made me realize she needed me more than Caroline!”

He began to hold the baby in his hand, and Mr. Arthur, who had listened to the woman with growing dislike, went quickly, almost dragging his wife with him. As they climbed the stairs, he said, “Trust me, Majorie, I began to hope not to persuade Caroline to hire the woman! But, I don't remember him babbling at us when he and Caroline visited us!”

“No, dear, but at home you never see it too often. That's what I don't like about city houses no matter how wide they are, one can never get away from other people living one roof with them! And, although Belevia was kind and helpful, I admit that I was often forced to lock myself in a room to escape from her. I think,” he added musingly, “if until he stays in Chateau, I should give him his own sitting room.”

“Living in Chateau?” Sir Arthur called out suddenly. “You don't want to say Caroline meant to let go of him?”

“Oh, no! But, we never know what situation might arise to make his guard unnecessary again. Caroline could have been married, for example.” Mr. Arthur laughed at this remark, and said, with great confidence, “No will! Well, she's already twenty-nine years old, and obviously an old woman!”
