Love Lightning Old Virgin

Love Lightning Old Virgin
The Chapter XXVII

Archard widened his eyes at him, saying with a high sense of prestige that he had just been about to tell him when the girl had instead interrupted him so rudely, and, clearly ignoring him, then focus on Miss Dior, saying very seriously, “I received a letter from my father, Madam!”

“Only that?” cut Cherry in a mocking tone.

“No, not only that at all!” answer Archard ketus.

“But how can someone say more than one word if you interrupt”

“Tenang” Miss Dior hoarding, feeling very amused. “You can't fight in the streets at least, I thought you could, but please don't. Has your father disinherited you, Archard? And, if so, why?”

“Well, no, he didn't do that exactly,” he replied,

“but I wouldn't be surprised if he did, but I don't think it's within his authority because his letter of approval was made by my grandfather. I didn't really care about it all this time even though I knew I had to sign some documents or something. But, he threatened to terminate my allowance in addition to refusing to pay any debts I made in Rouen if I did not immediately return to Etretat! I ... I can't believe he can react in such a way! It has opened my eyes, really! To me, he always seems to be the best and most understanding father and I have no qualms about saying this has hurt me so much! And, besides, I would .. be devastated if I returned to Etretat in shame, as if I had done something wrong, when I did not!”

“It certainly seems very strange,” Miss Dior admitted. “But, there may be an explanation. Will you walk with us to Gay Street, before Cherry freezes, then tell us why your father gave such an ultimatum?” Archard agrees to this plan, and, by walking between them, reveals that Grand Master Oliver as much as Lady Raina has relinquished her responsibility for Cherry, and, his behavior has shown him that he is unworthy of being recognized as a family, thus convincing Great Lord Oliver that the girl has absolutely no decency and subtlety and makes herself look very embarrassing.

Ignoring the angry gasps from Cherry, the young man ended by saying, “So, he forbade me to connect further with him or immediately return to Etretat, he said, at the risk of receiving his greatest annoyance! It's as if the mistake of Cherry's escape wasn't caused by her! Though yes! Well, Miss Dior, this has made me so angry that I am tempted to marry Cherry immediately!”

Cherry, who had been listening to this speech with a very bitter taste, said warmly, “She will be very grateful if you do! But, in my opinion, you should have ignored the letter. Because we both had no intention of getting married, and even if we wanted to, I don't think my uncle would give me his blessing. And, I can't marry anyone without his consent, unless, I guess, I elope to the Border, which no one will be able to persuade me to do, I guess, even with someone I want to marry! That would make me all-out reproach, wouldn't it, Madam?”

“True once,” Miss Dior approves. “Besides making you both regret for a lifetime!”

Miss Dior was relieved that Cherry responded well to this. Cherry said, “I have to admit, it's enough to make someone lose hope. As if you were not a disobedient child, because quite the opposite. And, what seems the strangest thing is that she never complained when you tried to lure that woman in Paris, and that woman was much more inappropriate than I was, right?”

Archard threw a fiercely condemning gaze towards Cherry. “I'll let you know, yeah, Cher, you better learn to keep up your talk! Anyway, you don't know anything about that! I'm not trying to lure him! Only seduction! The bachelors' favorite! You won't understand, but you can believe my father understood it!”

“Well, if he understands that, why doesn't he understand this matter?” Cherry asked with a pat. “For me it looks so stupid!”

“For me,” interrupted Miss Dior, “it looks as if Big Lord Oliver wrote to you when he was still in such a state of great anger that he did not consider the impact caused by sending you such outrageous letters, he said, Archards. I'm sure he'll regret it now and I'm pretty sure he'll be surprised to find himself at odds with you because I don't think that's ever happened before. I also have no doubt that, even if it is unlikely that he will admit it, he has found himself guilty in his relationship with you and Cherry. So, after all this time satisfied his desire after all these years always got what he wanted, he of course became angry when getting resistance, especially from you, dear! You yourself told us you had parted from him in a bad way, and I thought he felt very sad and hurt”

“Yes, true, but I regret it later, and intend to go home, to apologize to him, until my letter is received! So, now I won't do it! I can forgive his reproach for me, but the things he said about Cher, I can't forgive him, unless he pulls all of his words! It's not that I approve of Cher's blur, because I disagree, but accuse her of immoral behavior, because that's what my father accused me of, even though I had no intention of repeating it, other than denouncing Cherry all out, is an unjust and inexcusable act!”

Saving her inevitable thoughts on the folly of Great Lord Oliver, Miss Dior responded with a calming wise demeanor, “You will certainly do what you feel is best, but inevitably I feel you should, for the sake of politeness, send your father a reply to his letter and not a letter of anger! If you've been intending to go home to apologize”

“I intended to, but not anymore!” firmly with.

“If your aggravation is gone,”, said Miss Dior, smiling at him, “I am sure your logical thinking will make you realize the need to apologize to him for issuing your opinion more threateningly than it deserves. I don't think you should mention Cherry at all because what's the point of you defending her against the accusations that Lord Oliver must have realized were unfair? About his orders to you, it would be foolish to refuse to obey him, because that, you know, would make you look like a naughty little boy, by shouting the words “Don't want to? It's much better if you write a letter informing me that you will be returning to Etretat soon, but you have some appointments in Rouen in the near future, then obviously it would be impolite to cancel it suddenly.”

Very impressed with this wisdom, Archard exclaimed, “Gosh, yes! That's so good! I'll write him a letter, exactly as you suggested! I guess this must have embarrassed him, besides showing him I was not a schoolboy anymore, but a grown man, who could not be ordered but should be treated with respect! In addition, I will send greetings to Mama even after what she told me but, whatever they decide to do, I hope it is not me who complains!”

Miss Dior praised him, and when they had reached Gay Street, left Archard, giving him advice that there was nothing better for him to do to take a walk to the Pump Room, where Miss Dior and Cherry will be heading once they finish some business and do a little shopping. Since Miss Dior's goal was to prevent the young man from writing a reply letter to his father until his pent-up anger subsided, he was delighted to see this suggestion approved by Archard.
