The aroma of Chamomile tea is as fragrant as the living room of the Themisree residence. Whether the servants could read the atmosphere or they were just nervous, it seemed like they were pouring too many tea leaves inside the teapot.
Chamomile is a tea with a soothing aroma. It is perfect for a tense and awkward atmosphere like this.
"So, what did you mean by coming here?" Ask General Themisree directly at his point.
Kyrie sipped her Chamomile tea gracefully. His gentle but firm movements made the statement that he was no ordinary person.
"Before, I would like to congratulate Lady Themisree on being chosen as one of the candidates for the Crown Princess."
If the news had spread to Duke Wisteria's ears, it meant that everyone had heard this news.
"Then, I can see that you don't look happy, General Themisree." He said with a sarcastic tone. It was as if he already knew the reason why General Themisree was not happy.
"And you seem to know why." General Themisree replied. However, he hopes that Kyrie does not know the real reason why she is very upset with the fact that Suiren was chosen as the candidate for the Crown Princess.
On the other hand, Suiren could not take his eyes off his favorite character. It was completely different from what he had imagined all along. Different in a good sense.
Her dark hair that was as dark as night framed her pale face. Her eyelashes are so long that they cast a shadow under her eyes.
"I can help you." Further.
"How and why will you help me?"
"In short," he said with a smile on his face. "I hate it when what belongs to me is taken away by others."
Then Kyrie turned her gaze away from General Themisree and looked at Suiren.
"Bet engaged to me, Lady themisree." His pale purple eyes were fleetingly visible. He is not asking, he is giving orders.
“Sorry when my hearing is not right, Duke Wisteria. But just now you sounded like you were ordering me to get engaged to you.” After swallowing a lump of nervousness from within him, Suiren finally managed to speak up.
Kyrie may be smart to hide the look on her face, but this time Suiren can see clearly that Kyrie did not expect to get such a reply. His eyes did not lie.
After that Kyrie chuckled. The sound of his crisp cup filled Suiren's ears.
‘So like this the sound of laughter that has only been watched by me.’
“Lady Themisree, you are different from the rumors circulating.” Finally he said after laughing with satisfaction.
“Only fools believe in rumors,” reply Suiren. “Not so, Duke Wisteria?”
Kyrie did not reply. He then finished the tea in his cup.
“Before the release of this list of Crown Princess candidates, the imperial family had never discussed this at all to the Themisree family, right? That is, the Imperial Family acted unilaterally without listening to your opinion first. Therefore, they will not know anything about you. Therefore, they will also not know that our engagement is a lie.”
Suiren understood what Kyrie was trying to tell him. That currently, Kyrie proposed to use the limited information that the imperial family had on her to escape the Crown Princess candidate selection process.
“Trust or not they depend on the attitude of Lady Themisree and I, General Themisree. That's a question I can't answer right now.”
Suiren and his father just exchanged glances and then frowned.
In fact, when compared, between crashing into the imperial palace without preparation or getting engaged to Kyrie Wisteria both sound like crazy plans. Instead, what makes more sense is to follow the candidate selection process and display the worst.
Suiren cleared his throat before then expressing his brilliant idea earlier.
“To be honest, I intend to follow the selection process and then display my worst performance. So it seems, we have to reject your (withdrawing) offer, Duke Wisteria.”
Hearing Suiren's reply, Kyrie only smiled faintly. Even so, his smile seemed to be hiding something. It looked as if he knew what Suiren did not know.
“You're right, Lady Themisree.”
Suiren only smiled hearing that Kyrie Wisteria had given up. Then he stood up from his seat. “Alright then, there is nothing to bica-”
“Then ‘command’ sounds a little exaggerated.”
At once Suiren realized that what was meant by ‘utah’ he said earlier was not against his idea just now, but against his previous comments.
“I only ask you to return the favor to me because I have saved your life.” Kyrie said as she crossed her left leg over her right leg.
'Save my life?' Her thought. 'Indeed when did I get close to death other than... when I drowned?'
“THU YOU?!” peekik Suiren's. He could not hide his surprise. After all, Kyrie Wisteria was probably the last person on her mind who might be the savior of her life.
“Sama-sama.” This time he said with a sarcastic smile.
It's getting unreasonable. Why would a Kyrie Wisteria save her from the brink of death? After all how could he be in the Themisree residence at that time?
“Seeing your Father's reaction, it looks like you haven't told him about the real incident.”
The Themisree General looked at the two people before him with a puzzled look. He obviously needs an explanation.
Suiren was even more confused. How does a Kyrie Wisteria speak as if she knows the truth? Was he really the one who saved Suiren's life?
“General Themisree, I am sure your daughter has something to say to you. Maybe my offer will make more sense after you listen to your daughter's story.” Kyrie said as she moved out of her chair. “Then, I'll excuse you.”
Then he walked towards the door to leave Suiren and his father inside.
Before he fully exited the living room, he twisted his neck to look at General Themisree.
“One thing I know for sure, General Themisree.” His word. “That the Imperial Family did not include your Princess in the list of Crown Princesses to compete to become Crown Princess.”
