As soon as Ethel finished putting on her makeup, Suiren ran as fast as a horse towards the living room of the Themisree residence. What awaited him there was a figure he had not met for nearly a month. His heart churned like the pounding of waves as he dashed towards the living room.
BRAKK!!!
"Dad!" he screamed with a radiant face.
Looking out the window was General Themisree. He looked the same as the last time Suiren met him. Today, the Themisree General wears his full black uniform with insignia attributed to his superior.
Suiren hugged his father tightly. As he did that, a familiar warm feeling appeared in his chest. "I miss you so much!"
"Are you okay?" The Themisree general returned Suiren's embrace and then kissed Suiren's head gently.
Suiren nodded, but he refused to let go of his embrace from his father. He took his father like a five-year-old boy who had not seen his father for a long time.
"Why all of a sudden, Dad? You didn't even send me a letter at all." Suiren pouted while looking at his father. He felt like his father had forgotten everything about him.
"A lot of things I have to resolve are related to the incident at the Empire's gold mine, and that's quite time consuming for me. So, after everything was over I decided to visit you."
Suiren then sat down on the available sofa inside the waiting room, while the General sat beside him.
"Did the Emperor and the Empress scold you Father?" ask Suiren. His face looks worried.
"No. Although I cannot say that they were not angry at all, even more so was Empress Eleanor. But, the Crown Prince was quite helpful in defending Father's argument. Moreover, a human trafficking syndicate is a time bomb, sooner or later one has to stop that pathetic practice. The incident with the Ginryuu Empire happened to be the trigger."
"The Imperial family is lucky that they did not interfere at all in the human trafficking syndicate, making it easy for them to give up on the arrest of the head of the syndicate" the general said. "The handling of the incident was left entirely to the Ginryuu Kingdom."
Suiren nodded his head and then smiled in relief. "I think it all ended well."
"Quite about me and the human trafficking syndicate incident, tell me about your life here."
Afterwards, accompanied by tea and pastries, Suiren told him what had happened to him during his stay at the Wisteria House. The events with the Duchess, an encounter with Tia and a serial murder involving a friend she just briefly knew. Suiren deliberately did not recount the progress of his relationship with Kyrie, as he felt awkward to tell about it. His father did not ask further about it either.
After listening to Suiren's story, the Themisree General only nodded his head.
"Dad thought you wouldn't stay here, but it doesn't seem like a problem."
Suiren just laughed hearing his father.
"Ah, who's Dad here with?" suiren asked as she sipped tea in her cup.
"Gilbert went with me, but he decided to wait outside."
Suiren jumped from his seat and then looked at his father with a frown on his face. "Why didn't you say that from earlier?"
After that he immediately rushed out of the living room to meet Gilbert.
Sergei almost told Gilbert about Suiren's arrival but Suiren put his finger in front of his lips to hint that Sergei was silent and pretended not to know.
After Suiren had stood close enough to Gilbert, he tickled Gilbert's waist.
"YYYYY!!!" Gilbert shouted in surprise.
"Gilbert!"
soon after hearing Suiren's voice, Gilbert twisted her body and faced Suiren. "Lady Suiren you surprised me!"
"You are insensitive to your surroundings, Gilbert."
Gilbert looked at Suiren with an annoyed face but after that he only let out a long sigh at the mischievous behavior of this girl before him.
"You seem to be fine" Gilbert said as she gave Suiren a warm smile.
In addition to missing his father, he must admit, he missed Gilbert a lot. The figure who had already become like his own brother to him. The figure who had always looked at him warmly and was always by his side no matter how badly he did his duty, he had become a friend and brother to Suiren.
"Why does everyone assume that I'm not going to be okay here?" Suiren pouting.
"Well, that's because the Duke has a reputation"
"What kind of reputation, Captain Trancy?"
Suddenly from behind Suiren, Kyrie appeared with her sarcastic smile. Beside him, General Themisree walked up to him. He looked at Gilbert with a smile, though Suiren was one hundred percent sure he was holding back his emotions.
"Bad reputation, Duke Wisteria. You must have heard it at least once or twice, right?" Reply Gilbert with a smile on his face.
When the two faced off, they looked like the figures of a panther and a tiger that seemed to be defending their territory.
"It looks like Suiren hasn't told me how well I've kept him here. I even helped her clean up the body"
Kyrie could not finish her words because Suiren had swiftly shut her mouth to prevent her from saying things that could lead to misunderstanding.
"YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!" Suiren shouted and made everyone around him shocked. "It's lunch time!!! Let's have lunch together!!!" Suiren tried to distract the people.
Gilbert and General Themisree only looked at each other, both of whom looked equally confused.
Then Suiren pushed his father and pulled Gilbert's arm to follow him. "You should try the dessert made by the Wisteria family chef, it tastes completely inhumane!"
Suiren turned his head back and shot a sharp look and fury at Kyrie. He then spelled something with his mouth. "You. Possess. Requests. Before it. You're. Dead?"
Kyrie looked at Suiren while smiling foolishly. He then followed Suiren from behind and they spent the rest of the time eating lunch and chatting.
