“You are not my biological child, Suiren.” The Themisree General said as he looked at Suiren's two golden eyes. The rustling of firewood from the hearth rings adorning the silence.
Suiren who was uprooting the tea stopped his shavings. He had just finished ridding himself of the wetness that had befallen him.
“I'm sorry for bothering you, Dad. But it looks like your joke is a little late.”
Suiren knew he must have put a lot of thought into his father after he was kidnapped, but he did not think his father would be this angry to the point of saying that he was not his biological son.
After all, he was born and raised with his father, how could he not be his father's biological son?
“I'm not joking.”
Suiren was speechless looking at his father's sky blue eyeballs which looked solemn. He never joked when his facial expression was like this.
Suiren's heart seemed to fall from its place. He felt strange all over his body, as if his life was coming out of his body.
“Hahaha. Otherwise I will... I will.” Suiren tries to deny his Father. He let out a forced laugh.
The teacup she held shook slightly, then Suiren decided to put her on the table in front of her.
“You are the biological child of my late sister, Meredith.” General Suiren said slowly. He did not want to make his daughter more shocked than this moment. “That means you're my niece.”
Suiren gulped. Was this the time when his father felt unable to take care of him because he had done many things that troubled him and now he intended to throw him out of the house? It's impossible, right? Geneally, they still have family relationships. Expelling it is too extreme.
Was that one of the reasons his father allowed him to get engaged to Duke Wisteria.
“La-then, who's my Dad, Dad?” the question sounded strangely out of his own mouth.
“First of all, I will tell you about the figure of your birth mother. Meredith is my sister who is three years older than me. As the eldest son, both of my parents had high hopes for him to follow in my father's footsteps as an Imperial War General. So my father prepared him to become a knight.”
“Meredith is certainly very talented. He was born to be a knight. But he was also born with a very free and unfettered nature. So when my father forced her into something she didn't want, she decided to leave home.”
“After his departure, my father imposed all his wishes on me and forced me to become an Imperial Knight. I don't have the courage to refuse his request, so be me a Knight. I may not be as talented from birth as it seems but I worked hard and worked hard until I was finally in my current position.”
“Short story, my father passed away. Meredith didn't even come home when Dad died. I thought he was dead or going somewhere else. I'm not even trying to find it, because I think it's a waste trying to find someone who doesn't want to be searched.”
“After that, I went to lead an army with a mission to annex the Kingdom of Thalia into the Vassal Kingdom of the Helianthus Empire. Not to play to my surprise when I met Meredith on the battlefield. He stood beside Emperor Thaddeus like a dog who was very obedient to his master. He who used to leave home because he did not want to become a Knight, instead became part of the Imperial Knights under the leadership of the Emperor.”
“The funny thing is, he didn't even feel shocked when he saw me. I remember what he told me that day, ‘You look gallant in the uniform of the Imperial Knight, Arnold.’. With a face that shows no guilt in the slightest for having abandoned his obligations and dragged me into something that should have been done by him.”
“After that, I saw him fighting on the battlefield, with a talent that he had been cursing all along. I wonder what made him change. Then I realized that he had changed because of love. He fell in love with the Emperor, with all his blindness of love. To the extent that he willingly licked his own saliva and did the thing he hated.”
“After that, we parted ways. I went back to my daily life as an Imperial Knight and he spent his days as an Imperial Knight. I don't even care about how he's going to live his life as long as he doesn't interfere with mine. Then I married Silvya, and we built a small family. Even though Sivya was declared barren, I didn't care. I love her with all my soul even if she cannot bear offspring for me.”
“Two years later, Meredith appeared on my doorstep. She is not alone, she carries you who is still in fetal form in her womb. As much as I wanted to expel him and not interfere in his affairs, my wife was against it. He asked me to take Meredith back and take care of her until she
birthed. Finally I agreed on the condition that after she gave birth, she should leave my residence and take the baby with her.”
“When you were born, I knew something was wrong. Not once did Meredith ever tell me who the father of the baby she contained, but when I saw you born with both golden eyes, I could not help but think that Emperor Thaddeus had an affair with Meredith.”
Again Suiren gulped and subconsciously squeezed her dress tightly.
“I want to ask Meredith to leave as soon as possible, to avoid trouble for me and Silvya. However, Silvya fell in love at first sight to you. I understand his feelings as a husband, that he really wants to have children and I just want to see him happy. So I let her take care of you like her own biological daughter.”
“One day, Meredith says that she must return to the Imperial palace because there is something she must finish. But after that, he never showed his nose again either in front of me, in front of Silvya or in front of you. Again he left his responsibility to me and again I have no choice but to take over his responsibility.”
“But this time, the responsibility left by him brings happiness to both myself and Silvya. That responsibility is you, Suiren.”
Suiren then confirmed his sitting position, he hooked his fingers and scratched his thumb.
“Then does this mean that Emperor Helianthus is my father?” he repeated the question. This time he felt that he already knew the answer without needing to hear his father's answer.
The Themisree general smiled gently and then took his place beside the sofa that Suiren was sitting on.
Suiren speechless. He did not understand his father's intentions.
“I am your Father, Suiren. You don't have to question that. Even if you are not my flesh and blood, even if you were not born from my wife's womb, you are my daughter. Now and forever.”
Suiren felt warm tears streaming down his cheeks, then he hugged his father tightly. The General hugged her back in his arms and stroked her hair.
“I'm grateful that you were born with silver hair. If only you were born with blonde hair, I would have trouble explaining to people that you are my daughter.” Her speech.
Suiren chuckled softly on the sidelines of his sobbing. He felt like a fool worried about things he didn't need to worry about. He knew that his father loved him very much, he had nothing to doubt about it.
Then General Themisree raised Suiren's face with both hands and wiped away the tears from the tip of his eyes. “Mymat.”
“Duke Wisteria told me that you found out that the one who tried to kill you was Empress Eleanor. After knowing that, I knew that I could no longer hide the reality from you.”
The General's face turned serious.
“Listen, Suiren. From now on, there will be people who are after you. I hope you won't commit acts that could harm you like allowing yourself to become a victim of a human trafficking syndicate.”
Suiren widened his eyes. “How...?”
“Your players are too neat to be said to be the scene of the kidnapping.” Reply with a wrinkled face. He looks riled up.
Suiren released himself from his father and then laughed awkwardly. “Hahaha... but the plan went well, didn't it? I gave Dad a reason to let the Ginryuu Kingdom army subdue a human trafficking syndicate.”
General Themisree pinched his daughter's forehead. “Never do that again.”
Suiren nodded.
After that touching session of his father's outpouring, Suiren left his father's tent and rushed towards his tent.
Circumstances around the gold mines were more conducive, and the Ginryuu royal forces had returned to their camp with prisoners from the trafficking syndicate and victims of human trafficking themselves.
Suiren walked while looking at the dark sky illuminated by the full moon. He then took a long breath.
When she reached the front of her tent, Kyrie stood in front of the entrance of the tent. He smiled when he saw Suiren.
“Tsk!” decak Suiren's. He tried to ignore Kyrie and walked past her.
“Where are you going?” ask Kyrie.
“Sleep. I'm tired.” Suiren replied, he stopped his steps.
“You owe me an explanation, Lady Suiren.”
“It can wait tomorrow.” Suiren. “Or anytime.”
“No. I'm not gonna let you make up stories. So we do it now.”
“You can't force me, Duke Wisteria.”
“I can.” Kyrie then carried Suiren like she was carrying a sack and placed Suiren on her shoulder.
Suiren thrashed as his body ached. He hit the Duke on the back while shouting. “Let me down!”
“Not until you want to come with me.” Answer Kyrie.
Again Suiren took a long breath. “Good. Alright. Basic dictator.”
“Should you trouble the situation, Lady Suiren?” After that Kyrie took Suiren down and encouraged him to follow her.
