When Kyrie opened her eyes, she was already on the entrance to her residence. He did not expect that he would actually fall asleep, let alone very soundly. He only closed his eyes for a moment to make room for Suiren to cry.
Suiren himself also fell asleep, though Kyrie found out that she was crying for a long time. Because both of his eyes look swollen and there are traces of tears flowing from both cheeks.
Kyrie turned to the window to look at her residence, the sky had already turned dark. He had only left for a few weeks but it felt like a long time. The train continues to go through the trees and a neatly arranged flower bed accompanies the road. The sound of the carriage rattled as it passed through the rocks scattered on the road.
'Did Harry handle the tasks I left behind so well?' Thought Kyrie. He should not have doubted the ability of his butler. He has served the Wisteria Family since his father became the head of the family, which means twenty-five years. The only person who knows the secret and the trauma may be Harry,. The other person who knew those two things was definitely out of Kyrie's hands.
Wisteria residence stands majestically in the middle of the land. A three-story building with white and ivory colors that dominate. At night, the lights that light up make this building look more magnificent.
From a distance, Kyrie could see Harry and the other servants standing in front of the residence. Kyrie glanced at Suiren. The girl still did not wake up as well, her head still leaning against the wall of the carriage.
'He must be exhausted. A lot has happened to him in the last few weeks.'
Then the pace of the horse carriage swallowed and in the end it came to a complete stop. After that, the coachman who pulled the horse carriage down from his seat and opened the door.
Harry headed the other servants and lowered his head. "Duke Wisteria, we've been waiting for an-'s arrival"
"Shh." Kyrie put her finger in front of her lips. He asked Harry to shut his mouth.
Harry looked at Kyrie with a confused order. Kyrie then glanced at Suiren who was still asleep.
shortly after, Suiren slowly opened his two eyes. He stretched his body and yawned. "HAMMH!!!"
After that he realized that the train had stopped completely. "Have we arrived?" ask her in a half-conscious tone.
He opened his eyes and stopped when he realized that people were looking at him.
"How long have you guys been standing like that?.." asked Suiren with a confused face.
"Just now." Kyrie answered. "Your face is a complete mess. Did you cry along the way? You're acting like you're never gonna see your dad again."
Suiren's face flushed red and then tried to see his reflection in the glass window of the horse carriage.
Sure enough, both of his eyes were swollen and on his cheeks were traces of tears. She quickly pulled out the handkerchief that Kyrie had lent her from her skirt pocket and rubbed her face.
"I'll wash it before I return it" Suiren said, still rubbing her face.
"Or you can give that to one of the servants." After that Kyrie got off the Train and then extended her hand to Suiren.
Suiren grabbed Kyrie's hand and got off the train. When the two of them got off the carriage, Harry and the other servants lowered their heads.
"You came home just at dinner time, Duke Wisteria." said Harry. "and Lady Suiren."
Suiren simply smiled at Harry.
After that they walked into the residence. Passing through the passageway after the enormous and majestic passageway.
The Wisteria family was one of the influential noble families in the Empire, no wonder their residence looked this grand.
Along the hallway, paintings are on display. Under each painting are names. It seems like the painting was the painting of the Wisteria family head from time to time.
Right at the end of the hallway, a woman dressed in all black with a face-cover made of mesh was staring at the painting located at the end of the room. A painting of a black-haired man whose face looks very similar to Kyrie's.
"Is that your late father's painting?" whispered Suiren.
After the distance between the black-clothed woman shrank, Kyrie stopped her steps.
"I'm back Mother." Kyrie.
'Oh! Apparently this woman is Kyrie's mother. Then she's Duchess Amber?' ask Suiren inwardly.
Suiren then lowered his head and saluted. "It's nice to meet you, Duchess Amber."
The Duchess looked at the two of them. Even so, because his watch was covered in mesh, Suiren could not see the expression on his face.
"This is my fiancee, Lady Suiren Themisree." Kyrie introduces Suiren to her mother.
The Duchess flinched. He was silent for a long time before finally walking closer to Kyrie.
Suddenly his hand slid towards Kyrie's face. He slapped Kyrie on his left cheek.
Suiren was shocked to see this happening before him. But as if nothing had happened, Kyrie just put on a flat face.
"AFTER YOU LET MY HUSBAND GET KILLED, YOU PLAN TO REPLACE ME?!" yelled the duchess.
Suiren reflexively moved backwards away from the Duchess. He was surprised not to play with the behavior of the Duchess.
Kyrie on the other hand just fell silent. Didn't say anything.
Then Harry gestured to two nearby floats to take the duchess away from the scene.
After the duchess left, Kyrie walked into the room at the end of the hall as if what happened just now was no big deal.
Suiren did not move from where he stood. He did not know what to do with the incident that had just been witnessed by him earlier.
"Lady Suiren, please forget about that. Things like that used to happen here, you should not have to think about it." Harry quickly said to Suiren. He then encouraged Suiren to walk after Kyrie.
'Custom?! It was like the soap opera story. Except usually the victim is the daughter-in-law who came to the man's house. How could it be a mediocre event? That was just domestic violence!' Suiren screeched inwardly.
Suiren could not hide his shocked expression. But he followed Harry and entered the room that turned out to be the dining room.
Kyrie was already sitting on one of the chairs. The table in front of him was already filled with food and drinks and various desserts.
Suiren walked in and sat in the seat in front of Kyrie.
"Is your cheek okay?" finally Suiren dared to make a sound.
Kyrie grunts. "It's nothing." He then cut off the meat presented before him with a knife.
"But your cheeks look very red."
Kyrie stopped her flesh-cutting hand and then looked at Suiren with a smile on her face. If Suiren wasn't good at reading people's expressions, he wouldn't know that the smile Kyrie gave him was the same as 'Silent and don't talk much.'
"You'd better eat, Suiren. Cold food won't be good." he said.
Suiren followed Kyrie's request and then ate the dish served in front of her. After that, they did not speak a single word at all.
