"It seems your presence at Lady Iris' funeral has made people want to get acquainted with you." Kyrie said as she handed Suiren a sealed letter of daffodils that had been opened. The envelope is golden yellow with a red seal bearing the daffodil flower on it.
Suiren grabbed the letter and read it. An invitation to attend a tea banquet from Marquiss Narcissus' daughter. Naoist Wife Candidate.
"I also have business with Marquess Narcissus, so I can go with you."
Suiren nodded his head.
"As long as you're there, there's something I need. Do you want to hear my request?" Kyrie straightened her seat.
"Of course."
"I want you to be my eyes and ears there. Note any talk related to Naoist Dianthus. Whatever it is."
Suiren scrunched his forehead. "Has anything happened to Sir Naoist?"
Kyrie looked hesitant before finally looking at Suiren with a serious face. "Promise not to do anything dangerous after you hear this information."
"I promise." Suiren.
"Don't do something that endangers your life like a gold mine incident." Again Kyrie said in a serious tone.
Suiren laughing. "I promise. A thousand times."
Kyrie finally leaned her body on the chair. "The information I received said that Naoist Dianthus was not at his residence on the same day that Lady Iris went to his vacation home. For now, he is one of the suspects along with seven others."
Suiren felt his heart as if it were falling from its place.
"But that's not necessarily true, is it?" Ask Suiren.
Kyrie looked at Suiren with a questioning look.
"I met him a few times and Sir Naois is a pretty nice guy."
"Everyone is capable of committing heinous acts with the right motivation. Sir Naois happens to have that motivation." Kyrie.
"I remember before I turned back the clock, about 3 years back from this year, the Naoists came to see me and begged that he could uphold justice for his little sister. At that time, I didn't help him because I didn't want to get involved with his affairs."
Suiren swallowed his saliva. "Enforcing justice?"
"His brother was a servant in the house of Narcissus but he was found lifeless on the bank of the river Zerrin."
"You mean, his sister was murdered?"
"Looks like. At that time the Naoist came to me saying that he was killed by Marquess Narcissus. I can't help him because he doesn't even have any proof."
Suiren looked at Kyrie with a sad face. "What if he's right?"
"That's why I'm going to see Marquess Narcissus."
Kyrie stood up from her seat and walked towards Suiren.
"I heard from Sergei that you were friends with the Naoists." He sat at the end of the table facing Suiren. "You'd better keep your distance from him."
Suiren speechless. He really did not understand what was happening to him. Every time he made a friend, something happened that made him lose that person.
Kyrie grabbed Suiren's hand and brought it closer to her lips. He kissed it gently.
"Listen. I know what's on your mind, but if the Naoists are the culprit then there's nothing I can do."
Suiren sighed and then nodded.
"Smart girl." Kyrie said as she stroked Suiren's head.
"Kyrie stopped doing this to me, I'm not a child!" Suiren clasped Kyrie's hand over her head and threw it. He felt his cheeks flushed red because of Kyrie's words just now.
"Good, good." Kyrie said as she raised both her hands. Both laughed and his laughter filled the room.
