Rai Universe
CHAPTER 23. The Life And Death Struggle To Get To This Point.

Esta walked while bowing her head. He thought what if he did not have to come because he did not have any money at all. Not to mention his two-bodied self.

Although it has been agreed that his friends will help the cost of the shortage, but he still has to prepare some money. There's no way he'll charge it all to his classmates right? In fact, he has absolutely no money.

While daydreaming, Esta's phone rang and she immediately picked it up.

“Halo?” He asked lazily because it was a phone from Rai.

“Udah finished cleaning?” Ask Rai from across.

“Udah.”

“I sent the address and you can get there by taxi. I can't pick up because I'm busy too.”

“I went trans. No money to pay for taxi.”

“Let me pay if it's already until.”

“Ya. Yes.”

“Jam 3. Don't forget.”

“Iya.”

After that, the phone connection was cut off.

No wait until three. After dropping off the cardboard one by one, Esta then ordered a taxi through an online application on her phone. Not long after, a taxi arrives and the driver helps Esta put her things in. Not to forget Esta said goodbye to the boarding house before the taxi took her away from there.

Esta showed the address Rai sent to her phone to the driver. The taxi driver, a young man, drove the taxi to the address.

Arriving at the rusun yard, Esta searched for Rai's figure from behind the window. When he did not find the man, he immediately called Rai.

“I'm in front of the hamlet. Where are you?”

“Oh, yes. Bentar.” Said Rai who immediately turned off the phone unilaterally.

Moments later, Rai came running up to Esta who was standing next to the taxi. He immediately spent the money to pay for the taxi fare and after that helped Esta by plucking two boxes and taking her to the house they would live in.

“You can put your clothes in that closet.” Rai pointed towards the wardrobe that was inside the room. Esta just took care of assuring.

The rest, Rai was busy arranging their belongings and books. While Esta was glued in front of the wardrobe.

“You really told me to put a shirt in this closet?” Ask Esta from the room.

“Iya. Why?”

“But you have your clothes here.”

“Ya why?”

Esta fell silent. He only sighed softly while then putting his clothes in the closet, along with Rai's clothes. It was just his underwear that he put separately and hid them.

It all felt as if Esta was awakening. If they really are married and have the status of husband and wife. A surprise fate that feels strange considering they are still in school.

Esta does not have any goals in her life. However, he wants one thing that is, at least he must finish and have a High School diploma. He did not want to continue college because the money was limited to that. With his High School diploma, he felt it was enough to find a job that paid quite a lot. Moreover, his intelligence was very limited and he did not want to bother thinking about the lesson.

To get to this point alone, Esta had to struggle between life and death at the hands of Ringgo. I don't know how many times the abuse he received from the man who claimed to be his uncle. Not to mention the pain of slaps and punches that left bruises on his body and destruction in his heart.

But, now this plan he can not arrange. He was deadlocked when he thought about the direction of this marriage. Not to mention the baby that will be born later. One question is, will he and Rai remain in this one ark called marriage? Even without the love between them?

“Udah finished yet?” Ask Rai.

Esta was stunned from her daydream. “Udah.” Then he came out of the room and approached Rai.

He opened the cardboard containing his books and arranged them on the bookshelf next to the table. He glanced at Rai's laptop that was already on the table.

For a long time both of them were silent and just busy with their respective jobs. Esta is being confused by the cost of a farewell trip to the city of Jogja. He must have at least half the payment. He does not want to be ashamed and feel bad for his friends. What is clear, he must still work at the Pakde Karya stall even though the distance is quite far from here.

“I want to buy food, you pesen what?” Rai asked breaking the silence.

Esta glanced at the wall clock that already showed at 17:06 WIB. Then he turned to Rai and shook his head.

“No need. I have to go to work soon. Buy for you aja.”

“You still want to work?”

“My money is not enough to pay the farewell fee. Still less.”

“But we agreed to getong royong pay him.”

“Yes even so, I can't possibly not spend money on necessities there, right? Besides, I also can't help our friends. I have to pay at least half, if I can yes more.”

“Let me pay your fare. Don't worry. Your money can be made to buy the necessities right there so in simple aja.”

“Why?”

“Why what?”

“Why are you paying?”

“Your color is my responsibility now. Not much protest. I confess this only let my guilt be reduced.”

Esta was increasingly confused by Rai's statement. So indirectly, the man said that he did not care about Esta at all. All Rai cares about is his regrets, is that it?

Although feeling upset, but Esta tried to restrain herself. He went back to cleaning up his stuff.

“Not so out?” Esta asked because Rai did not come out even though the man said he wanted to buy food.

“Later, all of you work.”

“Nganterin I work?”

“Do not overthinking first. I just don't want that kid why-why if you go on angkot.”

Esta frowned again. Meaning Rai still cares about his son, while not with him? Jeez, confusing.

“As of you aja.” Finally Esta answered indifferently. His heart ached a little when he realized that Rai did not care about him at all. What did she expect when Rai married her just because of the sense of responsibility towards the fetus in her birth? Esta had realized it all along.

“Monday, grandma asks us to make your content check to her contact clinic.”

Esta just listened to him. He turned to look at ornamental fish that swim here and there in the aquarium. Making Esta think, they might not feel free to swim in such a small place. But they are forced to accept their fate because humans are amazed by the beauty of the scales.
