Rai Universe
CHAPTER 25. The Same Wound In Different Forms.

Rai was waiting for Esta to return from the bathroom, but the girl did not show up even after a few minutes had passed. Fearing something happened to him, Rai finally got up from his seat and went to catch up with Esta.

Rai walked slowly down the corridor of the police station. When he got not far from the bathroom, he heard the sound of people chatting. At first Rai did not care and was about to continue his steps, but as he looked towards the voice, it turned out that it was Esta who was chatting with the woman who had come to the police station earlier. Rai doesn't know who it is, but it looks like it's Esta's family. Rai guessed it was Esta's aunt who was told the other day.

“You are so bad. I told you to go far from here, why are you still working at Pakde Karya's place? You did deliberately make fishing Ringgo?” The woman's words sounded spicy.

“Bi... How did Auntie say that anyway? I tried to stay away from Aunt's life. Don't mistake me if my uncle suddenly comes to the stall when he's never come before. Aunty again defending Aunt's husband who dagjing@n it?”

“Forg your mouth, Ta. He was babing@n, but he was my husband. You're the one who's nervous about working there. Can't you find a job elsewhere?”

“Aibi know yourself looking for work is not that easy, right?”

“Many reasons you. Now that the problem is like this, how do you want? You always have problems. If only we hadn't taken you, maybe our lives would have been fine. You're a son of a shit carrier, you know? Never any good at all.”

“Which problem? What have I ever caused trouble? Isn't it Aunt who always diem when she knows what Ringgo did to me? I ever trouble what Auntie? I'm looking for my own food. I just slept at Aunt's. Aunty never belain me let alone when Ringgo craze.”

“You're getting worse, huh? You don't know in profit. Are you great because you can make your own money?”

“So want what Aunt?!!” Esta seems to have run out of patience because she continues to be in the corner

“It seems you know yourself. No need to take Ringgo to the police. Unplug your demands.”

“Miss.” Firm Esta. For a long time he wanted to repay Ringgo, and this was his chance. Just yummy.

“Esta!!”

“I said I don't want to!”

“Please stop!” Rai was already unable to contain himself anymore as Kanti raised her hand about to slap Esta. He appeared and approached them.

“Do not interfere with you.” Kanti Hardik.

“We're at the police station, Auntie. Aunty wants to be in jail like Aunt's husband?” Threat Rai.

Kanti was cornered and finally she lowered her hand even with a very angry expression. He snorted before leaving Esta and Rai.

It feels like Esta has enough to feel welcome in front of Rai for tonight. He kept his head down and did not dare to look Rai in the eyes.

“Let's go home. The officer said you can go home. Later will be called again if they need additional information.” Obviously Rai later. Esta still lowered her head, yet she kept following Rai walking behind her.

It was very late at night, and it was almost morning. But Esta and Rai did not feel sleepy at all. Rai knew that Esta was not okay, but the girl just fell silent behind her. Even when they reached the ridge parking lot, Esta remained silent.

Esta got off Rai's motorcycle and sat on the edge of the park barrier without taking off her helmet. He just sat there quietly. She was tired, and her cheeks were sore.

But what is done by Rai, he even sat beside Esta and put his helmet on the grass just like that.

“You okay?” Rai asked after they had long been silent.

Esta still did not answer. But now his shoulders were shaken and Esta was sobbing. The longer, Esta's cries grew. He did not dare to disturb her. He could only stroke the girl's shoulder hoping that it would help calm her down a bit.

Esta accidentally did not open the helmet cover. He just kept sobbing spilling everything and hiding his tears. He was ashamed of Rai and he did not care anymore.

“Why is my life like this? Why is my life always falling apart? I was determined to start a new life. I was sick and wanted to get out of my shackles. Why can't you? Why is it so hard?” Lirih Esta while sobbing.

“I won't say patience to you, Ta. Because I don't know what kind of life you've lived. All I know is, it's not easy at all. You're great to have survived to this very second. And I hope you will continue like this at any time. You are strong.” Rai.

Esta turned to Rai and looked at the man from behind the glass of her helmet. Rai also looked at him and their gaze met though invisible. I don't know why Esta seemed to be able to read sincerity there.

After a while, Esta turned her face forward again, she was still unable to look Rai in the eye any longer. Unlike his cold attitude, it turns out Rai has a warm side that Esta just knew.

“I'm ashamed of you, Rai. Tonight, you saw all my bad sides.”

“Which bad side? I didn't see anything. Don't be ashamed, Ta. Maybe you won't believe it, but we have the same wound in a different form.”

Esta simply sighed to calm her heart.

“You, look at that guy, right? Who fought with me. He's my uncle, my mother's half-sister. While the woman at the police station, that's her wife. From me babies, those who took care of me and raised me. So really, if I don't thank the same people who have taken care of me from childhood. You think so too, right?”

Rai shakes. “I don't have a domain for your life value, Ta. Because I don't know what the real thing is. Clearly, you must have a reason why you're doing all this. You must have thought long before making a decision. And I believe that decision is the best you can think of.”

Esta sighed again. It felt awkward when he was willing to tell all to Rai. The man seemed to understand himself, and that's why he was willing to open up.

Rai already knew all the events that had happened to Esta tonight, so there was nothing to hide from the man anymore. Although it feels strange, but Esta is in need of a place to lean at this time. And coincidentally, Rai gave a shoulder for her to shed all her sorrow.
