Rai sneered from behind his helmet when he saw a luxury sedan parked in front of his boarding house. But he still parked his motorcycle and went down from there and then immediately approached Danang who was sitting glued to his boarding terrace.
“Home home, Den?” Ask Danang kindly. He stood up straight from his seat.
“Ngapain mamang here?” Rai asked as she opened her boarding room.
“I told you to pick Aden back home. He said there's something to talk about, it's important, so.” Obviously that 40-year-old guy.
“Kan can call aja.”
“Say you must be delivered directly with Aden.”
“For a while, Mang. I change clothes first.” Said Rai who went straight into his room to change the school uniform he was wearing. “If not Mamang go home first. Let me ride the motor.” Obviously Rai again to Danang.
“Ya already, Den.” And Danang soon passed leaving Rai first.
Rai ruffled his waist while looking at the wall clock perched on his bed. It's almost six in the afternoon. It's getting dark soon. The sun's orange tint was swept away by the thickening smog in Jakarta's sky. As the day progresses, air pollution becomes more and more.
Rai deliberately stalling time by playing mobile phone. He did not want to quickly get to his father's house, a place he could avoid. But he also could not refuse the order to come because there must be something important that his father wanted to talk about.
At 7 pm, Rai then drove his motorcycle to the residence of the father. Arriving there, he was immediately greeted by Danang who opened the gate for him.
“Bapak has been waiting for Aden from earlier.” Whisper Danang carefully.
“Tadi raced PR first, Mang.” Obviously Rai lied.
Rai immediately entered the luxurious house. A house that has a lot of bad memories for Rai. He frowned when he did not find his mother's usual figura stuck near the entrance.
“Where are photos of mom, Mang?”
Danang did not dare to answer. The man was just trying to avoid Rai's clear gaze that was demanding an answer.
“Rai!” A voice coming from the living room made Rai not to continue his question to Danang. He then moved his feet towards the living room.
Rai's gaze changed as he looked at who was sitting on the living room sofa. There was Fandi, his father. And a woman with a little child sleeping in her arms.
Rai's premonition was bad regarding the situation before him. He walked and sat on the sofa in front of his father.
“Udah to eat?” Ask Fandi.
Rai just a small nod.”Why did Papa tell me to come?”
“Sit up for a minute, just chat.” It seems that Fandi is trying to melt the atmosphere. He could feel what was implied by his son's gaze.
“I don't have time, Pa. Many unfinished PR.” Rai reasoned again.
But for a while, Fandi did not also say his goal was to call Rai. While Rai kept glancing at the woman beside his father. The woman was silent and did not dare to twitch.
“So Papa wants to say what?” Rai was impatient because his father was silent.
Rai remained silent. As he had expected. “Terus?” The response was cold.
“Kok your response is so?” Asked Fandi who was offended by his son's reaction.
“So what should I say? Did you guys see your wedding? I have to send flowers or what?”
“Rai?” Fandi did not expect that Rai deliberately ignited the quarrel, again.
“Why should I say now that Papa has been married for so long? You shouldn't care to tell me now. It's no use. I don't care.”
“Rai!” This time Fandi was provoked emotions, he spoke in a high tone.
“If nothing else matters, I want to go home.” Said Rai who immediately stood up just like that.
“Where is your manners?! She's papa's wife. Respect him as someone older than you. Nurun who the hell is your jerk?”
That sentence was able to make Rai's footsteps come to a halt. He turned his back and looked straight at his father.
“Why is Papa still asking? I'm a good copycat. Who did I learn to be an asshole from? Did Papa forget the saying, the fruit falls not far from the tree? Me, falling right under that tree trunk.” This time Rai said while widening his eyes. He was really angry with his father.
I don't know, how long the life he felt. There was no intention of being nice to his father. The wound in his heart was very difficult to pin down. Even looking at his father's face made him sick and angry.
“Rai!!! You!!!” Fandi immediately walked up to Rai and slapped his son on the cheek.
Plaque!!!
Rai did not twitch, even his head did not shift at all. It feels the same. It was not her cheeks that hurt, but her heart that was being torn apart.
He stared at his father expressionlessly. Meanwhile, Fandi's new wife tries to calm her husband and pulls Fandi's arm away from Rai.
“Actually you are why Rai?! How big a mistake papa with you until you behave like this?”
“Don't Papa know better? Papa is an adult. Papa always said I was a kid who shouldn't interfere with Papa's business. Papa also told me to be quiet when mom and sister left this house and finally they... Them..” Rai was unable to continue his sentence. Too painful.
“Until when do you want to blame papa for the departure of your mother and sister? Your mama left on her own accord, so why don't you ban it?”
“Classical reasons. Old story. Papa just doesn't want to blame himself, papa wants to be right himself because it's papa's choice mama. Because who did you make that decision for?”
“Rai!! Enough!!”
“Yes. May your marriage be happy.” Grunts Rai while turning around and leaving the house.
Rai brought all his anger and disappointment from the house. He kept all the pain in a gaping hole in his heart. Then close it with achievements and a fake smile. Fortunately, his face supported it all.
Rai drove his motorcycle at a very high speed. He deliberately sought a quiet road so that he could vent everything through the pull of the gas pedal. Inwardly he wished to fall, but his balance was too perfect to support his intention.
Rai did just that until late at night. He kept going around in no direction until he felt tired himself. He felt like he was in an endless circuit and had no way to get out. There is no finish line how fast it goes. He was caught in an invisible wound.
