CHAPTER 72. The Ark is Torn. Strengths That Become Weaknesses.
Rai propelled his motorcycle at high speed. He really did not care about Esta who kept gripping her jacket to hold on to him. He swerved past whatever was in front of him.
His thoughts were still left in the reservoir as Esta said the sentence that made her very angry. He did not expect that Esta would dare to ask for a divorce from him.
“I want divorce from you.”
The words kept ringing in his head. So he lost his mind and did not realize that he was driving his motorcycle at high speed now.
Rai was agape in disbelief when Esta asked for a divorce from him. He hoped that Esta was joking and not serious about her words.
“Becandamu not funny know, Ta. What sih.”
“I'm not kidding. I'm serious.”
Rai looked at Netra Esta and tried to find the truth there. Damn, he found what he was looking for.
“You,, really want to split from me? Why?”
“I feel like nothing else can sustain our household. You married me because I was already pregnant at the time. So you can tell me why you wanted me just because of a child. And now that reason doesn't exist. So you can go back to your life before marriage with me.”
“You are ridiculous what? What do you think I feel, Ta? I love you the same. I thought you understood my sincerity. But why suddenly ask for separation?”
“I want to go back. To my life before marriage with you. I want my old life before I get involved with you. I never felt this sick before. I never felt this bad even though I often had slaps and shocks and harassment from Ringgo. But after I met you, I turned into a weak person. I so expect protection from you even though you can not protect me or my baby.” Said Esta who was covered in tears.
“I don't want to be a weak person. I don't like to be weak. I heard all your quarrels with your papa last night. Your papa. You can't do anything without your dad's big name. And as long as you marry me, you will not be able to do anything because you are weak. You know our marriage is a disgrace. I don't want to see you destroyed by your own dreams.”
“You said I was weak? Yes, I'm weak and I haven't been able to do anything for you. Because of my weakness we also lose our grandpa. I can't protect you guys. I admit I am weak. But do you have to ask me to split up like this? Is this the only way?” Rai does not accept in weak dwarfs. Because he felt the source of his power was in Esta.
“I just don't want you to fail to achieve your dreams because of me, Rai.”
“I told you that my dream, my goal is you, Esta.”
“If so, make that the reason you split up. Go, Rai. Be strong and protect the people you care about.”
Rai dumbfounded. Esta turned her words around. Now his strength is his weakness. His strength was now the reason Esta asked to separate from him. It doesn't make any sense.
“Make. I'm not gonna take you off. Especially apart. If your reason is because you don't want to go abroad, I can study here. Origin deket you.”
“Who said you were my future barrier, Ta?”
“You. Didn't he say I was a barrier to your future last night? He's really. I am a disgrace to you. So it's clear that I'm a barrier to your future. Shadow if there is anyone who knows the reason behind our marriage, your family can be destroyed.”
“You don't care about my family. I can break my relationship with my papa.”
“Do not. You don't know what it's like to live alone. Please don't be like me. Anyhow, he's your papa. It is his duty to make your future bright. I beg you. Please understand me this time.”
“How can I understand you if your reason does not make sense at all.”
“And I told you I wanted to go back to my original life. That's the strongest reason I'm asking to be separated from you. I haven't been happy since I married you!” Esta lied. All of that is a lie. He said the opposite.
“Ahh!” Rai said while rubbing his face rough. He was frustrated by Esta's attitude. He thought Esta was getting better. But who would have thought that the girl had even asked to part from him?
“We go home first. We continue to discuss this at home.” Rai Assertive. He stood up and walked to his motorcycle.
Inevitably, Esta was forced to follow Rai to return home.
And here they are. Drive high above the streets of the capital. I walk past every vehicle in front of me. With feelings that somehow express it.
Especially Rai. He wants to be angry. But he was still confused by Esta's reasoning. That means, all this time Esta never felt happy during marriage with him? Didn't he? But that's not what Rai caught.
He felt he was the only person who could make Esta happy. He felt he could protect Esta. Even now he does not have that power, but he will try to protect the woman he loves.
Esta knew how devastated Rai felt. Because he feels the same way. It was also a tough decision for him. He truly loved that man. And he also knew that Rai really loved him.
But, he was reminded of Fandi's threat last night. If he will make sure Rai can not do anything if Rai to break the relationship with Fandi. And Esta knew that Rai would prefer her and cut off her relationship with her father.
Really am. Esta does not want to be the cause of the breakdown of Rai and her father's relationship. He couldn't separate the relationship between father and son.
From the beginning, he and Rai could never be in one ark. From the beginning, their ark was torn and damaged by force. And from the beginning, there was never any beauty in their relationship.
This feeling, is nothing more than a mere monkey love feeling. So what to defend. That is what Esta constantly assures herself. In fact, the love of monkeys has never been this sincere.
He wants to go back to his old life. Where he is only above his purpose. Where he doesn't need to think about anyone but himself. Where he does not need to feel pain in the view of others. He just needs to focus on making himself happy. Without needing to involve these painful feelings.
