Monday, the day that Rai was waiting for. He was very curious about Esta's situation. Today he deliberately came faster than usual because all night he did not sleep thinking about it. He didn't want that big mistake to ruin a girl's life.
Rai pretended to be chatting with his friends, but his gaze was always on the door or the chair where Esta was sitting.
Sangking impatiently, Rai finally decided to quit the class, he hoped to meet Esta somewhere. And sure enough, Rai met Esta while on the third floor stairs.
Rai stopped his steps and looked at Esta inside. He remained silent where he stood without being able to say hello or ask Esta.
Esta, the girl only caught a glimpse of Rai without stopping. As usual, like they never greeted each other let alone chatted. He continued to pass Rai with that fleeting gaze of his.
Rai looked up following Esta's shadow. But the girl did not stop. He continued to step foot up the stairs to go up to the 4th floor where their classroom was located. There is no significant change from Esta's self other than a lump on her head that has deflated even though there is still a bluish color left there. Also the red hue on his cheek that had already almost disappeared. Like nothing ever happened between them.
Not ashamed of who, obviously Rai was embarrassed and instead continued his steps down to the bottom floor. After arriving on the second floor, Rai went back up again and immediately entered his class.
He had a quick look at Esta who seemed ordinary. Maybe the girl was as fine as her expectations.
The days pass like that. There was nothing special about Esta or Rai's attitude. Rai returned to his busy life and Esta returned to her activities following her friends although still not considered.
Even after a month had passed, Esta still did not show any meaningful change in attitude. Rai actually still wants to know. Something about the girl had caught his heart.
Today, Esta was hit by a picket section to clean the classroom after her friends came home. Not only was he alone, but there were three other friends who should have been in class with him.
But maybe they forgot so now there is only Esta who is sweeping and cleaning the benches. Today, she is feeling less well. But how else, it's his job.
While cleaning Tina's bench, she accidentally finds Tina's notebook dropped under the table. Esta could not help but open it. He wanted to know what the smartest girl in his class was like.
Esta frowned while reading one of the books. All about Rai. Tina wrote how much she admired Rai. Rai is Tina's dream husband.
Esta did not have time to open the next sheet because suddenly Tina appeared on the classroom door. The girl came straight for Esta,
“Yes geez. I think it's gone.” Seloroh Tina who immediately asked for his book from Esta.
Esta immediately handed the book to the owner.
“You read, huh?” Tanya Tina later.
“Slight.” Answer Esta.
“Don't tell anyone yes, Ta. Hehehe.”
In Esta's heart, even though almost everyone knows that Tina has already expressed feelings to Rai. But Esta still nodded so that Tina felt calm.
“You're done yet?” Ask Tina again.
“Udah.” Answer Esta. This was the first time Tina had spoken more than two sentences to him.
“Not eaten, right? Let me buy you meatballs.”
“Practice what bribe?”
“Hayuk lah.” Esta said she agreed to Tina's invitation.
It feels good when someone offers something. In Esta's heart, it's good not to play.
Tina and Esta go to a meatball stall not far from school. Tina ordered the most expensive meatball for Esta, a beef bone marrow meatball. The food that Esta always craves. A great opportunity approached him.
“You're doing that shoot anyway, Ta? You sick?” Search Tina.
“Maybe it's just less blood. But it's okay.”
“Yaudah, hunted in the meatball. Not good anymore if it's cold.” Tina. He immediately put a piece of meatballs in his mouth.
“Thank you for the bribe. Hehe.” Seloroh Esta's. He devoured the food without mercy.
That taste, was the most delicious taste he had ever eaten in his entire life. During this time he could only buy five thousand meatballs that tasted just like flour seasoned broth.
“Maybe in our school, only you are Ta who has no crush on Rai.”
“Udah how long have you had a crush on him?” Esta asked with a smile.
“Udah from SMP, gilak. We were a school first. It's so hard to naklukin Rai.”
“But he never had a girlfriend, so?”
“I have never. Look at the same way girls never. If the same rame-rames often. How not more klepek-clepek try with him. He takes care of himself.”
Esta just went back to enjoying her meatballs. It was eating the flesh that was stuck to his bones. It felt even more delicious as he sipped the bone marrow of the cow that immediately melted in his mouth.
So enjoying it, Esta no longer cares if Tina continues to babble saying how much she admires Rai. Seeing him enjoying meatballs, Esta was like a person who had not eaten for two days.
“If you want to add, pesen aja again.” Tina again.
What an offer Esta could not refuse. He put aside his embarrassment and instead ordered another serving of marrow meatballs. And he instantly spent it even before Tina finished her portion.
Tina could not hide the look of astonishment mixed with disdain from her face. But the girl tried to cover it up with an occasional chuckle.
“I just ate this time. It seemed to have far exceeded my expectations. So yummy. Thanks a lot Tin.”Esta did not forget to thank him for the bribe he received. Thanks to Tina, she can eat well and make her stomach full. And again, he did not need to spend money today for dinner.
“Sama-sama. But inget, do not tell anyone yes, about the book.”
Esta nodded as a form of her promise to Tina. Then they both laughed happily.
Esta felt their relationship was getting closer. Although Esta was always with Tina and her other friends, but only this time they were able to chat freely like this. Usually Esta had always been a neglected person, no one felt her presence.
It feels great when there is someone to talk to. Esta kept smiling on her way home. This is what it's like to have a friend, a friend who's really a friend. Hopefully this time it's not just Esta who thinks so.
