The conference room was already crowded with humans. The seats of the visitors are full. Some journalists were busy setting up their cameras. Indira, who is the general counsel of the accused, has been waiting for ten minutes.

Then, a man who was eventually identified as a clerk walked into the courtroom followed by the public prosecutor. Indira looked at the prosecutor carefully. That person will be his opponent throughout the court process. He is quite handsome for a woman like Indira. Although wrapped in a robe, it was clear that his body was quite proportionate. Nevertheless, Indira felt an infuriating aura from the man. Like seeing a bad actor in a drama.

The man who served as the clerk stood up and examined the microphone in front of him by tapping on it with his finger, as if to signal that the trial was about to begin.

“Judge assembly entered the courtroom, attendees are requested to stand.”

His outspoken voice conveyed notices and instructions to be carried out by prosecutors, legal counsel and court visitors. Everyone who was already in the trial room stood up to greet the three judges who came in with gallant steps and immediately took their places in their respective seats.

The clerk invited prosecutors, legal counsel and court visitors to return to their seats. The three judges immediately took and examined the paper before them. Then the presiding judge mentioned the status of the trial followed by a hammer knock three times as a sign that the trial had been opened.

Afterwards, the presiding judge asked the public prosecutor whether the accused was ready to appear at this hearing. The public prosecutor said he was ready and the presiding judge ordered the defendant to call in.

Then the door in the left corner of the courtroom opened and Abi entered accompanied by an officer behind her. He also took his place in the examination chair which was in front of the judges. His face looked calm as if he already had a lot of experience in that sickly chair. In contrast to Indira who despite having a dozen experiences in the courtroom as a lawyer, still feel nervous. Indeed, this is his first time appearing alone as a legal counsel in court.

The presiding judge threw questions at Abi about his condition and readiness to undergo the trial and confirmed his identity. Again Indira was amazed by the calmness of Abi in answering all questions.

“Based on article 56 of KUHAP, the defendant's brother is entitled to be accompanied by a legal advisor. Have you been accompanied by your legal counsel?” ask the chief judge.

“Already, Your Excellency.”

The view of the presiding judge turned to Indira, making the shoulder-haired woman even more nervous. “Brother legal counsel, is it true that you are the legal counsel of the accused?”

“Be, right, Your Highness.”

“Good, please Brother come forward to show your identity and legality. To the accused and the public prosecutor, to come forward.”

Abi and the public prosecutor came forward to approach the presiding judge. Then they realized something was strange. The entire courtroom looked at the general counsel's desk. Indira was still busy sitting down while checking the documents that were in her hands.

“Brother general counsel, please come forward to indicate the identity as well as the legality of Brother,” said the presiding judge reiterating his order.

Aware of being called, Indira immediately stood up and immediately advanced before the judge. Then he went back to his desk to take his power of attorney and his attorney's practice permit card. The court visitors laughed at Indira's clumsiness.

After the judges and the public prosecutor finished observing the power of attorney and license cards of Indira practice, they returned to their respective places. Then, alternately, the presiding judge asked the readiness of the indictment to the public prosecutor and the receipt of a copy of the indictment to the legal counsel who both got the answer ‘sudah’.

The entire courtroom took the reading of the indictment carried out by the public prosecutor seriously. The man's voice sounded loud as if he wanted to tell everything that declared Abi guilty and worthy of punishment. Surprisingly, every time Abi looked at him sharply, the man was suddenly nervous and his speech was broken.

The indictment was read in the form of a combination because Abi was accused of two stand-alone criminal acts, namely murder and drug trafficking. In the case of murder, he is threatened with a layered article, namely premeditated murder (article 340 KUHP) for the primary, which is, ordinary murder (article 338 of the KUHP) for subsidiaries and planned persecution resulting in the death of people (article 355 paragraph 2 of the KUHP) for more subsidiaries.

“Do the defendant's brothers understand?” ask the chief judge Abi.

“Understand, Your Grace.

“There's a response?”

“I leave it entirely to my legal counsel, Your Grace.”

The presiding judge turned his gaze to Indira and asked, “Well, to Brother of the legal counsel, is there any response regarding the charges that have been read by Brother of the public prosecutor?”

Indira put her lips closer to the microphone. There was a trace of doubt on his face, but he had to do Abi's request yesterday. Then his soft voice said, “Nothing, Your Majesty.”

“Are you general counsel sure you didn't file an exception?”

“Yakin, Your Majesty.”

The court visitors whispered to each other because Abi's side seemed not to give resistance at the beginning of the trial. While the public prosecutor thinks his opponent this time is very ready in terms of proof.

“Good, the next agenda is proof. To the defendant's brother, it is welcome to sit beside the legal counsel.

Abi stood up and walked slowly towards the chair beside Indira. Arriving there, Indira immediately whispered, “You are absolutely sure not to file an exception?”

“If ultimately rejected, why apply for it?”

Indira only nodded after hearing it. He saw the face of Abi who was calm enough to be more sure that the decision not to propose an exception must have been considered seriously.

“On Brother of the public prosecutor, have you prepared witnesses and evidence of Brother?”

“Already, Your Excellency.”

“How many witnesses will you present today?”

“We will present four witnesses, Your Highness.”

“What is the capacity of the witnesses in this case?”

“The first witness was a narcotics user who had received narcotics from the defendant, Your Honor.”

Abi and Indira looked at each other. They had already guessed this would happen upon seeing a copy of the Examination Event News (BAP). One incident will not be strong enough to confirm that Abi is really a drug courier. It takes false events with false witnesses to convince the judge and the public that Abi deserves to be punished.

“Good, please present to the conference room.”

“To the officers, please present a witness named Aditya Firmawan to the courtroom.”

The door of the room opens. An officer came in followed by a young man whom Abi had never even seen.

“You know that person?” whiskey Indira.

“No.”

The presiding judge has finished asking for the identity of the witness. Then, he asked a few further questions. “Do you know the accused?”

“Know, Your Majesty,” replied the witness.

“Have a blood relationship with the defendant?”

“No, Your Majesty?”

“Good, based on the provisions of article 160 paragraph 3 KUHAP, before you give an oath, you will be sworn according to your religion first. Are you ready?”

“Available, Your Highness.”

During the swearing-in, Abi sharpened his gaze on the young man named Aditya as if to say, “How far would you go to lie to your Lord with that oath?”

“Understanding, Your Excellency.”

“Good, I'll start asking. Previously, have you ever given a statement until compiled News Event Check this case?”

“Earlier, Your Excellency.”

“Is the description you gave us correct?”

“Already, Your Excellency.”

“When giving a description, are you forced or in a depressed state?”

“No, Your Highness.”

“Good, now tell us briefly about what you know about this.”

“I often buy methamphetamine from the accused, Sir.”

“How often? That is, the frequency of the purchase. Once a week? Or once a month?”

“About two weeks once, Sir.”

“Is the package like this?”

An image of some black plastic zipper is shown on the projector screen. Everyone in the trial watched him closely. Aditya confirmed that it was his thing that was obtained from Abi. In accordance with what is stated in BAP, on the package there are fingerprints belonging to Abi.

Then several other questions were also dismissed by the presiding judge. Likewise, the public prosecutor who gives questions with answers that lead to Abi's mistakes.

Meanwhile, Abi and Indira listened seriously. Sometimes they discuss. No jitters were seen on their faces even though the witnesses gave a fairly incriminating testimony on their side.

“On legal counsel, anything you want to ask witnesses?” ask the presiding judge who broke the serious conversation between Abi and Indira.

“A, there, Your Majesty,” replied Indira nervously. The petite woman improved her sitting position that was tilted because of discussions with Abi. Then, he stood up and was about to walk towards the witness. “For Brother -”

“You don't have to walk in the trial,” whispered Abi while pulling Indira's robe silently. The lawyer sat with a embarrassed face. The entire courtroom smiled looking at his slightly ridiculous manner.

“For Witness brothers, how do you contact the defendant's brother when you want to order methamphetamine? Is it by using phone, phone or chat or by other means?”

“By using a mobile phone,” replied a witness.

“In other words, on your phone there is still a history of calls to the Abi number?” Then Indira set his sights on the presiding judge. “Izin, Your Grace. I want to check the call history on their phone.”

The young man stared at the prosecutor because the question had never been told to him. Of course he has no history of calls to Abi's number on their phones. Then, take the initiative to give the answer that he thinks is most logical.

“I have removed. After hearing Abi was caught for drugs, I removed it so it wasn't linked to her case.”

“Alright then,” response Indira relaxed. Indira faces the presiding judge again. “Then, I want to match only my usual client number witness contact with my original client number.”

“Sa, I have also deleted it,” Aaron said again.

“Honey once.” Indira sighed and checked back on the BAP in her hand. “Is there any other evidence that you ever communicated with the accused?”

“No.”

“Defendant deliver narcotics to you by using what vehicle? Remember the plate?”

“Eh, looks like a motor. I, yes, motor. The plate I forgot.”

“How about the clothes? Using ojol attribute or regular clothes?”

“Eh, wear jacket ojol.”

“Color?”

“Green.”

“Perhaps by which you mean the company jacket Drop and In-Jek. Unfortunately, the defendant is an Extreme ojol driver whose attribute jacket is yellow.”

Aditya's witness started to panic. Then he reasoned, “Sorry, I don't remember. The last time I met him was three months ago.”

Then Indira turned her body towards the audience and the camera seemed to invite the public to think about what she thought. “Means, the witness cannot prove his relationship with the defendant.”

“Doubt, Your Grace. Questions raised by legal counsel are entangling, giving the impression that witnesses are lying. Legal advisor behaves as if ignoring previously confirmed evidence.”

“Defense accepted. Please legal counsel be careful in making a.” statement

Indira nodded her head slowly and then looked back at the witness. He smiled because he was sure of what he was going to say.

“Related with the evidence you gave the investigator. Is it true that the item came from the defendant?”

“Be, right.” Unlike before, now the witness has been seen worried when answering questions from Indira.

“When was the last time you used it?”

The public prosecutor saw the witness named Aditya was confused as to what to answer. So he took the initiative to help her. “Doubt, Your Grace. Legal counsel questions are a recurring question. I asked the witness when he used drugs last time. The witness said he had quit a month ago and he was undergoing rehabilitation.”

“But my question is different. I asked, when was the last time he consumed the evidence he gave to investigators,” replied Indira. “Given the witness said the last time the goods received three months ago, it means there is a time span of two months from since then until the last time the witness used drugs. Is a couple of packs enough for two months? Or he used narcotics from someone else?”

“Designation denied,” said the judge who made the prosecutor can only return to his seat resignedly. “Witnesses, please answer any questions from legal counsel.”

Aditya's witness is confused. He was influenced by Indira's last words. If he says he has used narcotics from others, it means he must mention who the other person is and will certainly be very troublesome and risky for him.

“Sorry, I just remembered that I got the item from Abi about a week before I was rehabilitated.”

“Yes!” indira shouted while pointing her palm at Abi. But the man did not respond and just smiled looking at Indira. The petite lawyer lowered his hand slowly while enduring the embarrassment.

Meanwhile, the people in the courtroom were confused by the excitement shown by Indira. Indeed, only he and his client knew such an answer that they were waiting for from the witness.

“Your Honor, we reject all witness statements because we suspect the witness has given false statements.”

The courtroom is back. Indira's words caused various speculations for those who heard it.
