Abi and Regina were still staring at each other. No words had come out of their mouths in the past few minutes. Either because they want to intimidate each other or just because they are out of words. To be sure, Regina was anticipating every reason Abi wanted to give, while Abi was busy choosing excuses to avoid being easily countered by Regina.

“No more defending? That is, you admit it?” Eventually Regina broke the silence between them.

Abi's gaze was still empty for a few seconds as if he did not hear Regina's words, then he sighed then looked at her friend's face with a smile and said, “Nothing. You can look for more evidence and report me.”

As Regina said, she knew Abi well. What Abi said was not a form of submission, but a bluff. Abi is very shady of the current situation. The stabbing he experienced not only affected him. Many people were dragged by the media, including the police. Although the biggest mistake was inflicted on the head of the rutan, the police were also considered to be negligent because of the incident.

And if Regina reveals Abi's escape, it won't have a positive impact on the police. Instead, people will question their performance again.

Not to mention the more specific impact. His colleagues who are in charge of guarding Abi will definitely receive severe sanctions because of the actions of his best friend.

“It's amazing because I once admired a bastard like you,” Regina quipped as she shook her head.

“Come on, you said yourself that you know me very well. Now ask your heart. Do you think I would commit a crime that could make you hate me?”

“Why not?”

Abi seems to give up on convincing Regina that she is not as bad as her best friend thought.

“I'm so sorry about what happened to Roy. But, I cannot accept your prejudice that I caused Roy's death that you hated me so much.”

“Do not take the name Roy.”

“But everything I do is also related to Roy.”

The tension between them grew. Regina's little heart was eager to hear Abi's explanation. But, his ego forbids because he does not want Abi to influence him. He knew Abi had a special skill to convince him with words that sounded reasonable. He did not want to waver from his determination to imprison Abi.

“Since the beginning, I should have suspected you. As of right now, you show that you are very capable and very brave to do anything, including by endangering yourself, to achieve your goals.”

“You mean?”

“Look at how mature your preparations to change roles with Rama, it is not wrong if the stabbing is the result of your design,” said Regina who can not be denied by Abi.

“So, you no longer trust me because you think-”

“Yes, I know for a long time you wanted to avenge yourself on a cop named Reynold, Roy and his father for what they did fifteen years ago. And now, one by one your grudges are avenged. So, it's only natural that I suspect you were involved in this case from the beginning. Including when you frame yourself as a victim and corner the police in public.”

Abi looks quite surprised by Regina's statement. Indeed, he engineered the stabbing incident himself to be able to escape for a while to take care of some things. But he did not expect Regina to accuse him of fabricating a case that has left him in prison in recent months.

“I give up,” Abi said as she raised her hand and shook her head. “You think too far about me. Your suspicion of me is already at a stage that is difficult to help anymore. I'm like I'm pulling a plant whose roots are deep.”

“You were wrong for not being able to convince me.”

“Personation with your Latin parable. I just want you to make me stop to think that you killed Roy. Since I've tried, I've tried thousands of times to look for the possibility that you were not involved in his death and until now I failed to do so.”

Abi's heart ached when he saw Regina say it with teary eyes. He could see the earnestness of the woman's heart, which was in harmony with her words.

“I didn't design it, but it's been waiting for him for a long time,” Abi said which left Regina confused. “As a police officer, of course you realize that during this time there have been various kinds of manipulation cases whose targets are small people like us.”

“You mean, are you waiting to be the victim of a case manipulation for revenge? As expected, you are indeed crazy,” Regina said as she shook her head. “But, it's not enough to convince me.”

As usual, Regina became a firm rock that made Abi exhausted to penetrate her heart.

“Alright, I don't want to argue any longer. I just want you to investigate Benjiro's motive for faking Mischa's death, then you'll know if I'm completely innocent.”

Regina raised her eyebrows. “Motif?”

“Yes, and if you find him, you don't have to come to me to apologize for all the charges you've thrown at me. I just want you to help me reveal the truth and catch the mastermind behind all this. The figure that caused everything, including the death of Roy.”

Regina was speechless seeing the seriousness in Abi's eyes. His heart began to doubt.

“Obur, Sir?” ask a woman who happened to pass through the door of the room. The occupant of the room glanced for a moment then smiled kindly.

“No, Sus. I was just working on my files, and then I went straight home. You just came home now?”

“Custom, who picked me up late. Maybe on the road it's jammed bad. So, while waiting, I double-checked some things for our activities tomorrow.”

“Do not work too hard. If you get sick, I can't do anything. And next time, if your boyfriend can't pick you up quickly, ask Mr. Kadiran to take you home.”

“Thank you, Sir. But, it is better to wait for a long time as the same girlfriend herself,” replied the woman with a smile.

“Ah, I understand. Nothing can beat the beauty of being with a boyfriend. Just pray, if I win, the first thing I do is to overcome the congestion so that Susi can be picked up on time by her dear brother.”

They both laughed and the woman named Susi left.

While the man, bacagub Milky Way, again busy tidying up his files. He sorted out which work to do at home and which could be done in the office next time. Tomorrow he will attend an event that will drain a lot of energy and time, so he must save energy and time for tonight.

Just as he had just lifted his bag and rushed to leave, his phone lit up. Not a call, just an incoming message. He opened the message and thought of one of his successful teams who promised to send a schedule tomorrow. However, the content of the message was not what he suspected.

“PARADISE PROJECT?” muttered. He then rushed to restart his laptop and checked some data. His eyes widened when he found something he never expected. Then, that surprised face turned into a smile.
