“Benjiro is out of jail? You sure it's him?” asked Abi in a high tone. He really did not expect it.
“Yes, I couldn't have seen it wrong. I have excellent observation skills. Ah, if I bring a vehicle, I can follow it,” Regina said.
“He's in a car? Or motors? What about the vehicle plate?”
“He was in the car. I checked the license plate and it wasn't registered. Looks like a stolen car. That's what makes me even more sure that the person I saw was him.”
Abi just nodded small. He was thinking hard. “How can he get out, yes?”
“Hey, I didn't come here to give you information.” Regina knocks on the table in front of him for not asking Abi to think about Benjiro wandering outside the prison. “I just want you to explain about Mischa's death. Why do you assume he wasn't killed by Benjiro?”
“Do you also think that there is someone other than Benjiro behind this case? Yes, of course it was besides me.”
“I have not confirmed that you are not involved in this case. So, you're still on my suspect list,” Regina said giving a warning. “If you can give a good answer, maybe I will assume you are not involved with Benjiro.”
“Come on, you're not in a position to scold me. I have the information you need so much.”
Regina fell silent. He caught his breath and tried to hold back his anger. But Regina knew that Abi had the right to do that. He did not trust Abi and destroyed the friendship they had for dozens of years because of emotions. Now, he comes as if he is licking his own spit by admitting that Benjiro has no relationship with Abi and that there is another party behind Benjiro, who has the power to get him out of prison. And of course, Abi had no such power.
“Good, I'm sorry. I want you to tell me everything you know about Mischa's death,” Regina said with a repressed tone, signifying an annoyance she can't blow up right now.
Abi was still smiling looking at the annoyance on Regina's face. Not because he was happy Regina was upset, but he was happy because he felt familiar with the woman again. Honestly, ever since their feud, he felt a considerable emptiness in his heart. Regina's been a part of her life all along.
“He wasn't killed,” said Abi who took Regina by surprise.
“So, she died because -”
“ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) or full blockage of coronary arteries. During this time Mischa suffered from coronary heart disease and high blood pressure. That day he had a sudden heart attack, which unfortunately happened while he was alone at home.”
Regina was still shocked by the information given by Abi. He did not expect that possibility at all because of the development of the case he had heard from the trial and the media only directed Mischa's death as a murder.
“So, Mischa died of an illness? Then, Benjiro covers up the death and makes it look like a murder with that super ribet scenario?”
“Yes, and by chance and without realizing it, he involved me,” Abi said. “I told you to find out why Benjiro confessed that he killed Mischa.”
“I didn't find anything.”
Regina's answer made Abi wonder. He knew that Regina had obtained information with De Syado's help enough to deduce why Benjiro had engineered Mischa's death. Then, why didn't he tell Abi? Looks like Regina still doesn't trust him one hundred percent. But, because Regina did not want to say her findings related to Mischa's schedule on the day of the incident, Abi could not develop a story related to Benjiro.
“Then, we are still difficult to find the mastermind behind all the actions of Benjiro.”
“Alright, that seems to be all I want to know now. Thank you for the cooperation. I have to get back to work.”
Regina stood up and extended her hand to invite Abi to shake hands. However, Abi was flirting. He stared and looked only at Regina's hand and smiled faintly. Regina was confused by his attitude.
“Sweetest. I have some good stories for you. For example, the reason I didn't make a plea note at the trial.”
Abi's words were very tempting to Regina. Abi's shocking attitude during the trial, which indirectly affected his failure to get a free verdict, has indeed become one of the big questions plaguing his mind in recent days. He knows what he has to do now. Pulling her hand, sat down and let Abi tell her story. He knows Abi very well and his former best friend must have something very interesting for him.
“Oh, I forgot. I'm on leave now. So, I have plenty of time to listen to your story,” Regina said looking for reasons not to be too shy to delay her departure. “So, what's the reason?”
Abi looked at Regina for quite a while then re-expanded her smile. “It was already planned before the trial.”
“Why?” Regina was getting upset because Abi was convoluted.
“Of course.” Abi leaned his body towards the back of the chair. “At that time my lawyer had just been fired from his advocate organization so most likely I would have been alone in the trial and I didn't know how to make a plea note. So, no defense.”
Regina clenched her hands as if she was about to punch Abi who was laughing grimly. “Why after we don't make friends anymore, I just realized that you're this thick?”
The beautiful woman stood up again without looking at Abi's face again. He turned his back and prepared to leave Abi.
“Not the Milky Way,” said Abi stopping Regina's movement. He turned back to Abi with a face full of questions. “Not the Milky Way you should suspect, but Theodore Francis.”
“What do you mean? Why are you calling those names?”
“I know you're investigating the Milky Way, but you're wrong. Even though he was in the meeting, I can make sure he's clean.”
“You also found De Syado?”
“Not me, but Rama. Even though I told him to,” Abi replied. “It turns out we should meet the impostor.”
“So, you also get Mischa activity schedule from De Syado?”
Abi nodded.
Regina sat back down and this time her eyes could not be separated from Abi, as if she still needed more information. “What is your basis for saying the Milky Way is clean and it is precisely Theodore Francis who is suspect?.”
Abi put an index finger to his lips and said, “Slowly. It's a secret.”
