“You've met him?” asked the old man with a heavy voice. Another man wearing a neat suit looked down. After raising his head, he corrected the position of his classic glasses that had been tilted.
“Already, Sir. I have delivered everything that you asked,” the skinny man said to his boss, Mr. Jireh.
Mr. Jireh nodded while burning the tip of his cigar. Then, he sucked the cigar deeply and then exhaled it long. He seems to enjoy it very much. The skinny man with classic glasses knows that if the boss does something like that, it means he is depressed because of a problem. Unmistakably, the problem was Abi, a prisoner from the ordinary community who gave a pretty fierce resistance to him.
“A, yes. Sorry if I was sassy. But, why should we now involve Indira Christina?”
“To make the game more exciting,” said Mr. Jireh. “During this time Abhimanyu Alexander was very dependent on the woman. But, seeing how he reacted when the little bastard tried to extend his prison term, it seemed like the woman didn't know about me yet. That little bastard must have wanted to keep him out of our fight. You know what that means?”
“A, what, Mister?”
“The woman is precious enough for him,” said the old man while sucking his cigar back. “Abimanyu Alexander that is a real man. He will not be afraid to risk his life, but will never let anyone of value to him get hurt. The woman will be her weak point.”
The assistant looked at his master with a confused feeling. Then he again asked, “But, isn't Indira Christina also a valuable person to you?”
The old man looked at his assistant sharply as if the words just now had hurt his feelings. The assistant was scared to death, before Mr. Jireh laughed. “I'm not a real man, but a real fighter. You know what the difference is? A true fighter only focuses on winning, no matter what to risk.”
Mr. Jireh sucked his cigar deep again and took it out of his mouth. Then, he placed the tip of the still-lit cigar onto a body lying helplessly in front of his feet. The body was filled with scars of great persecution so that it was barely recognizable anymore. Even when the tip of the cigar touched his skin, the owner of the body was no longer able to scream.
“After all, after this traitor gave the blue print PARADISE to Abhimanyu Alexander, I couldn't guess the contents of the little bastard's head. So, all of you I gave him a little clue about his location so I could guess the step he would take next.”
Mr. Jireh laughed so hard that the large room was filled with his laughter. He could not wait to see Abi's next action, before he finally destroyed it.
*
Abi's face was tense again. There was still some embarrassment mixed with the annoyance because Indira witnessed firsthand the expression of admiration for the idol, who did not realize it looked very strange. But that's no more important than the fact that Indira knew Mr. Jireh's name.
Who is lord Jireh? How do you know that name?
At the moment Abi does not know how far Indira knows Jireh. It can be less, it can be more than him. Nor does he know if Indira knows if Abi knows Mr. Jireh.
“It's a shame you didn't come with me at the check yesterday. In the past I had to insult the police because it was checked without being accompanied by a lawyer.”
Indira surprise. It was not at all in the dialogue he wrote. Even Eunha's photo is the last sheet. Finally he realized that Abi was interested in Mr. Jireh. He was only a client who consulted on the legal status of ownership of his property on the troubled reclaimed island.
He's just one of my clients who wants to consult about his assets on one of the reclaimed islands.
“Sorry, I'm busy so I don't have time to go with you.”
Indira looked at Abi's writing carefully.
Did you see his face? Likewhat?
Abi is waiting for an answer from Indira. His eyes continued to stare at the hand of his lawyer who was moving about writing something down. He was already impatient to know what kind of person who had been the scourge of the scariest to him.
I didn't see it. His assistant was named Jesse Arnold. Wh why? Have you ever heard that name?
“Are you treated well by those investigators?”
Disappointment filled Abi's heart. He thought he could know Mr. Jireh's face.
Never does. I just want to know what kind of problem Mr. Jireh is facing. As you said earlier, it may have something to do with the PT project. Laras Jaya Karya is there.
“Not good and not bad. Incidentally, one of the investigators was Regina. You remember Regina, right?”
Indira nodded while writing down the explanation of Mr. Jireh's case simply.
So, Mr. Jireh invested in one of the developers on the island of Jupiter. But…
“Wait, Regina? The polwan rocker? Isn't he your friend? How can he check on you? What did he say?”
Abi pointed towards Indira's paper and pen as a gesture for her to continue writing, but the woman was unmoved. He again gave a signal that he would not continue his writing if Abi did not immediately answer his question. In the end, Abi gave up.
“Yes, he and one of his colleagues checked me out. I don't know why I can. Maybe because we had no blood ties or because he hid our friendship or indeed it was allowed.”
Although it had been answered, Indira's sharp gaze did not change. He began to write, as Abi had asked.
In essence, Mr. Jireh wants to initiate all investors and developers who have poured capital to file a lawsuit with the government because of the reclamation permit that never went out, even threatened to fail. In fact, several development projects have been carried out there on the basis of the implementation permit which refers to the pergub several years ago.
“What are you talking about? Personal issue? Or are you nostalgic about your wonderful teenage years? Well, the conversation must have been very interesting. Too bad, you should go to the restaurant just talk.”
Abi is confused to see Indira's attitude which seems to be very upset with her. Does Indira think that Abi has apologized and made peace with Regina, but forgot to apologize to her? Ah, maybe Indira is just the origin of speech because there is no more dialogue to read.
Then, what solution did you give him? Are you still in touch today?
“No, he only asked about some case-related matters, especially about Benjiro. There is no personal discussion. In fact, we pretended not to know each other. It seems he is still angry because of Roy's past death. Though I intend to apologize to him for ever being rude. To be sure, there was no excitement at the time. It works with professional.”
I just told him to discuss it first with the employers association as a forum for business people to fight for their rights. If the association does not provide other solutions other than through legal channels, then they can file a lawsuit. But, is it true that you don't know Mr. Jireh? You seem worried about him.
“Wah, she is very lucky because an Abhimanyu Alexander intends to apologize to her.”
Abi is shocked by the satire that Indira throws at him. But, he pretended to be normal and thought it was only necessary to read what Indira had written, because their oral conversations were only to trick the eavesdroppers. His eyes also point to the writing of Indira.
You rascal!
