Way Back To You

Way Back To You
Alter Ego's

As Hanna opened her eyes, she realized she was being dragged through a small passageway with moist, cold air. His consciousness had not yet fully returned, yet he could see the dim light from the incandescent lights that lit up on the walls of the passageway. His hands are tied, and so are his feet. Hanna was in pain, and slowly her eyes closed again.

“Please don't hurt him.”

“Close your mouth. Since the beginning I did want to get rid of him, why can't I hurt him now?”

Hanna heard a noise...

“But Brother Hanna is a good person.”

“Silence. I don't want to hear you anymore.”

Then deserted. Hanna was on standby as she could open her eyes slowly. He looked around him fearfully and realized he was tied to a pole. The walls of the house were covered by posters of Hazer in various fashions, not to mention hundreds - or thousands - of her photo cards, some action figures and hundreds of magazines.

His heart was beating fast, his breathing was hunting and he was scared to death. Hanna tried to untie him but the rope was too strong to remove. He circled around her and found nothing to cut the rope.

When Hanna saw Gita enter the room where she was held, Hanna's face suddenly changed. “You did it?” Hanna's voice rang out in disappointment, fear and feeling betrayed. Hanna's been so kind to Gita, why is she even acting so extreme like this?

“Sorry Brother. I'm forced.”

Gita looks just as nervous as Hanna. The girl's face was pale, she was frightened as if she was under someone's pressure.

“Forced? Who told you to?”

“I..”

Suddenly Gita's facial expression changed. His body was wriggling, his breathing was hunting and he grimaced in a slightly low voice. He stood in front of Hanna with a face that had been nervous turning into a roar and frightening. His eyes glinted and showed cruelty. Gita slowly stepped up, but her footsteps looked graceful and classy like the steps of the princesses, and she suddenly looked at Hanna sharply.

What an impressive transformation!

“Gi..Gita.” Hanna tried to call her name.

“Ssttt..” Gita smiles - horrible. “Let's listen to one song first.”

The woman laughed out loud, then suddenly fell silent. He approached the nightstand, turned on the black disk, and the music began to chant to fill the room as the Gita moved to the beat of the music.

I see trees of green

Red roses too

I see them bloom

For me and you

And I think to my self

What a wonderful world

“You don't want to sing?” exclaimed Gita and she was still circling there as if she was dancing.

Hanna shook her head with a horrified feeling. She pushed her body using her legs, but Hanna's body was already stuck to the pole and she couldn't go anywhere. Hanna's breathing dashed, she almost fainted from fear of seeing Gita transformed into another figure.

“Completed.”

Gita walked back to the nightstand after the music stopped - still in a strange stepping style. After that, she approached Hanna again with a grinning smile and a sharp gaze, as if she was a predator and Hanna was a piece of her fine meat.

“Gita.”

“Silence. Don't call him.” Gita straightened her hair. “She is sleeping.”

Hanna flabbergasted. Why does Gita pretend to be someone else? The way he talks, the way he walks, everything is not him. Why did the Gita do it?

“But Gita.”

“I told you not to call him.” Jerky Gita.

“Ta..but you are Gita.”

“I'm not Gita.” she smiles cynically. “My name is Giselle. Giselle Nicholas.”

Hanna blinked her eyes, not believing. Why does Gita lie and play? What is he doing now exactly? Want to fool him?

“Gita.”

“Giselle..” exclaimed Hanna in the end because Gita's facial expression was terrible when she insisted on maintaining her name.

“Yes, cheap women.”

“Ke..why are you keeping me here? You..”

“Stop! Let me talk first.” Gita drags a chair that makes a loud noise as her iron legs rub against the floor. He sat in front of Hanna, raised his legs and looked at her sharply.

“You snatched Hazer from me, you low woman. You must realize you are not entitled to him, not even a fingernail. You are not worthy.” Gita clutches Hanna's chin. “..and it will never be appropriate to be with him. That's why I did all this to you.”

“Ja.so you did it?”

"really. I messed up your cell phone signal today at the office." Gita blows her nails, looks at it carefully and shows it off to Hanna. "My nails are so pretty, aren't they?"

Hanna swallowed with great difficulty. "That means you're not pregnant? Is that just a lie?"

Gita chuckled even to the point of holding her stomach. "He said that reason to paddle you? Very funny.." He came back laughing.

"He??" Hanna shook her head in disbelief. "So Gita doesn't know what you're doing?"

“True, and I'm lucky the girl is quite stupid and easy to cheat.”

Jesus, Hanna gasps. He's alter. Hanna watched several documentaries about multiple personalities on National Geographic several times. Judy Castelli has forty-four alters, Shirley Maison, and Billy Milligan have twenty-four personalities. They all have criminal records committed by their own alter ego.

He also remembers reading a book about Multiple Personality Disorder or – multiple personality disorder commonly abbreviated as MPD, where there are several characters or personalities in one body. Usually, this type of disorder appears when the victim has depression and childhood trauma such as sexual or physical abuse, violence from parents or those around him, or it could be bullying from her friends.

Unable to withstand the suffering, it triggers the victim to block his trauma by creating new characters and characters in him. This is one way of escaping the harsh reality and the victims are trying to find comfort and an ideal life through the new characters they create.

Hanna simply did not expect, if she would see him directly with her own eyes.

“Giselle, can you call Gita? I have something to say.”

Hanna once recalled in the show she watched, if there is a possibility that the alter-alters created in the body of the victim know each other even though the possibility of not knowing also exists. He wants to know, whether Gita –lord of his house, aware of Giselle's whereabouts or not.

“For what? This is all my work, my art. Don't take him. He's not exciting at all.”

Gita's expression suddenly changed back. His body curved, then curled up on top of his chair. Slowly his face turned soft and tender with a wailing look. He was transformed into a new person.

“Gi..The Gita's..Is this you?”

Really, Hanna was really scared to death. This experience is quite amazing when he can meet someone at once with his alter ego, if only he was not a victim there. But Hanna is not sure about her safety, not until she can talk to the real Gita –Gita.

“Kak Hanna's... Brother why? Who tied up Brother?”

Gita cried out and stood in front of him. Hanna tries to investigate, whether the Gita has really returned.

“Gita.”

“Ya Brother.”

Thankfully, Hanna breathed a sigh of relief. He must quickly persuade Gita to untie her before her alter ego takes over again. He can appear at any time without Gita's knowledge and his life is still threatened if he is still around the Gita.

“Please, quickly untie the rope.” Hanna's command.

Gita nodded.she circulated her gaze, trying to find something –sharp objects to break the rope that was tied so firmly. He ran when he saw a pair of scissors and immediately cut the ropes that wrapped Hanna's body.

But suddenly Gita laughed, with a terrible laugh like she did earlier. Shit, screech Hanna. His alter came back, and he was holding a pair of scissors.

“Do not try to deceive him.” Gita strangled Hanna's neck with eyes flushed like blazing fire. “..that's why he can be lied to, because he's stupid and weak.”.

Hanna's entire body shook violently, especially when oxygen intake was cut off to her brain. He gasped, his voice sounding heartbreaking as he tried to take a breath, yet could not. Hanna's tears came to realize how horrible her life was right now.

“Stop...” exclaims Gita, pushing herself away from Hanna.

Hanna free. He breathed out from the air as deeply as possible, replenishing the oxygen army that almost made his life float. If the Gita doesn't come back in a few seconds, then Hanna will probably stay a name.

“Please don't hurt Brother Hanna, I beg you!”
