“Thanks so much for seeing me, Hanna.”
Liz put down her tea and smiled kindly at Hanna. Hanna just nodded small. After communicating with Liz over the phone, Hanna decides to see Gita's lawyer for the same purpose, which is to talk about Gita's case because it concerns her as well.
“Actually I also want to visit Gita in custody, but I'm still recuperating, so.”
“I understand.” Liz smiled. “You must still be very shocked by all the events that have happened to you.”
“Do you know that Gita is not the culprit? I mean.”
“I know..” by Hanna. “The alter did it, right?”
“Thank God you understand it. I think it will be harder to talk to you because not all ordinary people understand this condition.” Liz looks relieved.
“How is Gita doing?”
“He is fine. We did hypnotherapy on him yesterday.”
“Hypnotherapy?” hanna's forehead shriveled.
Liz nodded. “A therapy to give suggestions to his subconscious. That way, it will be easier to talk to the alter because during the hold, the alter has never appeared even though.”
“So does the hypnotherapy work?”
“So far it worked. But that's not exactly what I want to talk to you about.”
“Then what?”
“Gita was arrested for a series of terror he committed against you, as well as the capture and shooting of a victim named Jhon. Finally, she admits that she was responsible for the death of Angela, a model in the same agency as Hazer. I can accompany her, but can you help her to ease the demands? I mean, I think a lot about his health because when I met him yesterday, he looked really messy.”.
Hanna heard carefully.
“The doctor who hypnotized him said if he had a little doubt about the state of Gita's mental health. She worries that the Gita will be shaken and is likely to hurt herself. The most fatal thing is suicide. You understand what I mean, don't you?”
Hanna nodded. He understood what Liz meant. Indeed, he also did not want Gita languishing in prison because after all, he loved Gita very much. Their closeness all this time can not be replaced with anything. After all, it was not the Gita who committed all the crimes so far, but the alter. The Gita must be depressed, chaotic, confused and feeling guilty.
“I will meet Gita while giving information to the police.” Hanna said. “I'll help him get out of jail as soon as.”
*
Hanna sat quietly inside the not-so-broad visiting room. Moments later, Gita arrived with two officers. Hanna could see both of Gita's eyes glazed over as she looked at him. His face was pale, his lips were dry and flaking, both his eyeballs were swollen and dark circles were hanging under his eyelids.
Hanna's heart was filled. He had not expected the Gita to turn this big.
“You okay?” greet Hanna gently.
Gita nodded, her head still down. “I'm sorry Brother Han.” he said slowly.
“Why apologize? You are not wrong. You didn't do anything wrong.”
“But I helped him bring Brother Hanna home to trap. I. I can't resist when those whispers come in my head.”
Hanna sighs. He looked at Gita's goal. What has Gita experienced? What kind of past made him suffer like this?
“Gita, you don't worry. I'll help make a statement to the police to make your case lighter. That's all I can do right now.”
“..and for any other case, trust the lawyer chosen for you. He can definitely free you immediately.”
Still quiet. Hanna took a deep breath. “Good Gita, that's all I want to say. Stay and keep thinking clearly. I'll support you.” Hanna stroked Gita's arm gently.
Droplets upon drops of tears Gita fell down tracing her pale white face. He looked at Hanna seriously. For Gita, Hanna is not just her boss. He was already like a brother, an older brother who cared for him more than his own family. All of her inner wounds were so numbing that Gita, yet she continued to gather all the drops of her sanity to this point, Gita started to feel a little tired.
“Kak.” Gita raised her face. “...please give this to Leo.” He took out a letter from his pocket and placed it on the table. “Tell him not to wait for me again no matter what.”
“Leo?” hanna's eyes blinked.
Gita nodded. “He's been with me all this time, he's witnessed everything I've been through. I don't deserve him, brother. She deserves to be happy with another woman.”
God, why didn't Hanna realize this before? All their togetherness, all the time spent every day together, where there is a Gita that is where Leo is, all because Leo likes Gita? Why am I not sensitive at all?
“Leo has done its best to make me rise from the darkness of my past, but still I lost. So Brother Han, please tell him stop loving me.”
“You didn't tell Leo where you are now? She doesn't know at all?”
Gita nodded slowly. “I asked that Mama keep this a secret from Leo. I'm sure he's looking for me everywhere right now. But I really don't deserve her brother and I'm ashamed of myself at this time.”
“Gita.” Hanna clasped Gita's hand. “Don't be ashamed, you didn't do anything wrong. If Leo really likes you, and you like him, why don't you try to start a serious relationship? Trust me, your past wounds, whatever they may be can heal with love.” Because that's what Liam told me. My existence made his past wounds slowly heal and disappear. Gita, trust me.
Gita smiled, then nodded slowly.
“Travel time is up.” An officer entered the visiting room. Gita was brought back into the cell, and before she passed from before Hanna, she turned her head back and smiled. “Sister Han, if I give up, will Big Brother be mad at me?”
Through the gap of a small window with iron bars measuring thirty inches, Gita looked out with her body still lying. The air was quite cold, the sound of mosquitoes buzzing in his ears. He slept on a thin mattress that was no different from a mat. Gita took a deep breath.
“I know you're tired.” The Gita hears a voice within herself. “I told you to rest, if you rest long ago we do not need to go through this all.”
Gita agreed. His heart was tired, his mind was hurting, his body was crumbling. He wanted to rest and forget everything.
“Sorry that I hurt you deep enough. I just want to create my own world because the real world you live in is not what I want.”
Gita's tears trickled down, the longer it grew so swift that she was as excited. “Do not cry. You are too precious to a world of hypocrisy like this and your tears don't deserve to fall on earth.”
Gita cried sobbing that her body trembled. “Gita, will you put an end to our suffering together? Let's get our feet into a much better world. A quiet world without tears and suffering. You've had enough to hold all this alone.”
Gita turned her body to turn her back to the iron bars door. With tears still filling her eyelids, she took a razor from under the mattress she got from one of the prisoners as they did the cleaning this afternoon. He closed his eyes and felt the cold touch of a sharp object that severed the veins on his wrist.
No fear, no pain. Everything felt very fast and Gita started to feel her heartbeat slow down.
He saw a man with a high posture like an athlete, smiling at a newborn baby girl. She held him there, circling around like a ballet dancer. The girl was not affected by the noise she created. He remained sound asleep, feeling safe in his arms.
She looked at her mother, wearing a very pretty dress with one glass of wine in her hand. He danced with a savage man named Bradley. The two laughed happily, dancing with their bodies attached to each other, accompanied by the music of Minuetto from Luigi Boccherini.
He saw Hanna, a shady face full of affection. The only person who can love Gita without seeing who she is. Hanna believed him, smiling at him at all times. Hanna throws jokes, scolding him for talking too much and gossiping.
He sees Leo, an office co-worker who is actually his childhood friend. The man smiled waving his hand at her. They ran down the green grass hills and picked up wildflowers. “I like you.” He heard a confession of love from Leo to him when he was eighteen years old.
She saw Giselle, herself, in a room, exhausted, yet still smiling. He reached out to her, welcoming her with a triumphant smile.
It's all done. The suffering and the wounds are done.
