140. Go to Silvia, the Pharmacist

A child was running in front of me. Instantly, the boy fell down which made his knee injured until he cried because he could not bear the pain. At that time, I saw Silvia swiftly coming to the boy to treat him.

Such a strange way of treatment. Some strands of coriander leaves dissolved in a kind of pink liquid then flowed mana energy. Instantly the leaves blend with the liquid and make it gel shape. Silvia also smeared the child's wounds with the gel she made.

Something incredible in my eyes happened. The wound instantly healed not far like giving potions to a dying warrior like in RPG games.

I saw Silvia smiling brightly at the boy and the boy left her waving with thanks. What a beautiful sight.

I've reached Silvia. He immediately looked back as soon as he felt someone approaching him.

“Oh, Adrian.” Sweep me.

“Yo, Silvia.” My handkerchief went back to him.

Based on my results with the team last night, I was assigned to approach Silvia in order to find out how the healing arts and medicine in this world were because I was the only one among us who had ever made contact with the pharmacists stationed in the village.

The seven of us have agreed to investigate the poisonous green mist in the forest whatever the consequences. And in order to minimize the impact, I had to successfully run this mission of mine.

“You treated that kid just like that without taking any payment? Aren't your herbs and other medical supplies bought with money?” I tried to make small talk to Silvia.

However, Silvia instantly looked at me with a frown. He said, “How can you say such a horrible thing, Adrian? The king of this land has paid us pharmacists every month to carry out our duties in our own place. How dare we take another payment from the locals. It is the same as betrayal of the state. Treason country, Adrian.”

Twice Silvia emphasized the word state treason to me.

It is a very good system in this country. Every citizen in all corners of the country can get medical services from the best pharmacists of the country for free where the kingdom is the one who bears all the costs.

I am jealous of the people here. In the real world, my salary is even cut by 2.5 percent every month to finance medical financing that I do not necessarily use every month. Plus poor service that is only checked carelessly without proper medical examination steps.

Doctors in the real world are now mostly concerned with money alone without ever again trying to develop their abilities in the field they are in.

We knew each other and it didn't take long for me to get along with Silvia, thanks to my communication skills thanks to the upbringing of Uncle Dios, Brother Arskad, and Kak Kaiser.

After three days of getting to know each other, then I tried the purpose of my approach to him.

“Wah, it seems the medical world is very interesting huh, Silvia. Can I learn it too? Coincidentally I also know where, but lack of understanding in applying it there are herbal plants for healing.” I told Silvia.

“Of course you can, Adrian. The medical world is very interesting. Everyone who knows him will be interested. It just so happens that you are also a suitable type to study medicine. So you were born to be a pharmacist, Adrian. How about studying under my direction. If you manage to master it, there is a chance for you to become the official apothecary of the kingdom with the recommendation of the Chief.”

Silvia looked so enthusiastic.

Well, of course I'm not interested in becoming the official apothecary of the kingdom because our existence in this world is only temporary. But it was the honest thing I revealed from the bottom of my heart when I said that I was interested in the concept of medicine and healing in this world. Well, unfortunately, it's just an unreal game world.

To make a wound healing remedy here, the concept is to make a mana-distilling solution and which absorbent herbal plants to unite. The solution is generally made from soda water taken from the mountains which is given additional calcium chloride then with a slight chemical modification using complex ions, the solution is finished.

For herbal plants can be diverse, which can clearly absorb mana and blend with the solution. The most commonly used are coriander leaves and cocor duck leaves.

To cure even more complex diseases such as diseases caused by bacteria, the way they are made is a little more complex. But the concept is to make an absorbent solution that is able to absorb body fluids in the specific place where the bacteria live, coupled with some additional herbs that effectively kill the bacteria.

Unfortunately, in this world, complicated diseases caused by viruses such as SARS or caused by bacteria that are difficult to control such as Black Death, still have not been found the method of treatment.

However, of course I don't need to get there the thing that I need right now to go on our mission is how we can survive through the poisonous green mist.

I mastered Silvia's recipe wound healing potion in just 2 days that made Silvia praise me. Now, I began to try to ask him to teach me how to survive with the green mist poison.

“Basically, at this time, to cure someone who is poisoned by green mist as well as other types of gas poisoning by drinking herbal tea given mana. But I've never heard of a potion about how it can be immune against poison.” Silvia seemed to think hard.

“Ah, no. Not until it needs to be immune, Silvia. That is, how to make someone can just survive through a region filled with toxic green fog safely.” I corrected Silvia's misrepresentation.

“Hmm. If so, what if you use a mask that is given an air filter that contains herbs made from a mixture with the main ingredients of acetone, turmeric, and lemongrass? I think it'll be effective enough to neutralize for 3 hours the hangover effect of the poison. But that doesn't mean neutralizing the poison. Just minimize the impact, at least we can survive in the fog for 3 hours.”

Said once again Silvia with a hard thought. However, a moment later, he looked at me with a serious face.

“Don't tell me you want to harm yourself by going there, Adrian?”

I turned my eyes to Silvia's interrogating gaze.

“Ah, why are the wanderers always engulfed in curiosity with their memory loss? Not that I don't understand anyway. It must be scary if we are in a foreign place without remembering anything about who we are. But Adrian, that place is very dangerous. Many monsters, not only mutated animals, but also various kinds of plant mutations gathered there due to the effect of the green mist poison. It would be difficult even to survive there.”

Silvia seemed very worried about me. For some reason, I felt very happy about it, whereas Silvia was nothing more than an NPC from the game.

I smiled gently at him and said, “It's okay, Silvia. I am strong.”

That night, we had a meeting again. Without wasting time the next day we collected materials from other working money by killing beasts, repairing the houses and fields of the citizens, even menial jobs such as mining done by Uncle Shou.

Uncle Dios and I were assigned to concoct the ingredients while the others continued their routine of making money while we were here. We were worried about our real bodies because all we ate was our virtual bodies. But let it be the responsibility of the people in the real world to take care of it.

Therefore, we also accelerate our efforts whatever we can accelerate. Armed with the information and knowledge base given by Silvia to me, me and Uncle Dios modified and fiddled with the recipe in such a way that we obtained the most effective recipe in counteracting the effects of green mist poisoning.

This time not only delayed the effect as Silvia had said before, but completely eliminated it. Everything could be, thanks to Uncle Dios' incredible talent in the field of potion ingredients.

The rest, just waiting for the arrival of Uncle Arthur who was specially assigned to buy anti-epidemic clothes that are often worn by pharmacists here in the face of the pandemic. After the clothes came, we redefined it by adding an air filter containing the potions that Uncle Dios and I had made.

Our preparations were finished and we were ready to explore the forest filled with green mist.
