30. Will not betray

I woke up from that dream.  Without me knowing it, tears had poured down my cheeks.

“Lho, what is Adrian?”  Apparently, Brother Kaiser has been next to me in a state of consciousness.

That day, I happened to be staying at our secret headquarters to practice optimizing the use of my Hard avatar side.  From my previous fighting experience, I obviously did nothing useful for Kaiser.  I was late by several milisekons activating my Hard avatar side perfectly so that the shield was not completely covered protecting me from the poison of the Potion Merchant.

As a result, instead of helping, I became a burden for Kaiser's sister so that Raging Fire and her friends managed to escape.

Similarly, in the case of Fog, if only I were able to activate my Hard side avatar simultaneously with Sly Dark, I can definitely use it to protect my feet so that Fog's mist won't be able to penetrate my feet and make me fall.

Due to the limited number of rooms that there were only three, of which the other 2 were already occupied by Professors Melisa and Judith, I ended up choosing a room with Kaiser Sister.

“Ah, no Brother.  I only dreamed about my wonderful past memories playing Hoho games with my first brother, Kak Faridh.  Maybe because of that, I suddenly felt missed him.”  I also answered Kaiser's question.

Kaiser's sister smiled gently at me.  A moment later he said by staying with his soothing smile, “You must love Hoho games yes, Adrian.”

It felt rustling in my heart when Kak Kaiser mentioned back the word ‘Hoho game’ which always reminds me of Kak Faridh's death.  But different from the previous one, now my heart does not hurt anymore.

“If the night of the disaster five years ago did not happen, I must have been addicted to playing it.  But thanks to Kaiser, now my hands do not tremble anymore when discussing it.”  My refutation is vague of Kak Kaiser's statement.

I saw Kak Kaiser standing from his bed right next to my bed and then fiddling with the contents of the closet on the other side and took out something.

“PSV16 know, Adrian?”  Suddenly Kaiser asked me.

“Know Sis.  It is an old-school game whose game concept is similar to Hoho games if we ignore its VR.  Aye right?”  I immediately answered the question spontaneously.

“Yosh, if so, let's play a round.”  Said Kak Kaiser while issuing two antiques that if not wrongly called game consoles that used to be popular when I was 4 – 5 years.

“Boleh Kak, but why all of a sudden in these nights?”  Askaqua.

“Then I choose the character of Cleric Albert.  Adrian choose which character?”

It seemed that Kaiser Brother had already entered into his own world and no longer paid attention to my words.  Inevitably, I accepted the game challenge from my mentor.  But unfortunately, I've kind of forgotten how the antique works about it a long time since I last played it,.  Anyway, where did Kaiser actually get this antique?

Quickly, the curiosity in my heart was answered by Kaiser.

“You know, Adrian, this game I got from the relics of my parents who have died.  It just so happens that the developer of this game is my father and mother.  This is the original version, not a mass-produced one.  They are both IT scientists.  Oh, maybe you've never heard the term IT again, Adrian?  That's natural, because the term has sunk since the discovery of access to the virtual world.”

While playing the game, Kaiser continued his story.

For some reason, I felt the weight of Kak Kaiser's voice increase.  However, I just kept listening to her story in the atmosphere where I started to regain that sleepiness.

“Because of this now old-fashioned and cheap stuff, my father and mother's lives had to be snatched away to steal their research data.”

I was stunned by the sudden information about Kak Kaiser's dark past that he told me.  But stupidly me, only meaningless words that actually came out of my mouth, “So when Kaiser said that both of Brother's parents were gone, it was because they were killed?”

“Ironis yes. Not only my parents, but also my maternal grandparents who so dedicated themselves to research according to their respective fields, must be taken their lives about the results of their research.”

I can clearly capture the deep sadness from the bottom of Kaiser's heart even though he tried to cover it with a gentle smile.

“But Adrian, I'm sure that they are happy there because they are able to find their sense of self regardless of the fateful ending they have to accept.  I'm sure Faridh did too.  And just like both my parents and my grandfather, your brother must always expect your happiness left behind in this world.”

Ah, I just realized why Kaiser suddenly said so.  She must have been able to catch this sadness and despair that had briefly covered my heart.  I don't know how many times, when I doubt, when I get upset, it's Kaiser's words that always reawaken my dim spirit.  Really, Kaiser is indeed a big brother figure and a good mentor.

I'm sure only Kaiser's sister besides Syifa would never betray me.

Right said Kaiser.  It is important to remember the past as a form of our love for those who have abandoned us, but we must not be confined in sorrow for it.  For the future of infinite possibilities of meeting new people is always open and waiting for us.

“Thank you, Brother Kaiser.  Thanks to Big Brother, my mind is clear again and I feel I can welcome this morning better.”  I said while trying to imitate Kaiser's bright smile.

Not felt, the time has shown at 4:30 and it is time to welcome the morning.

That morning, in the corridor near the 1st floor library of the faculty building, I accidentally bumped into Bobi.  I also asked about his attitude yesterday betrayed the trust of his own best friend.  Why time in front of Zenri, he supported his remarks, but instead betrayed that promise behind him.  And why did he do it without saying anything to me.

I saw Bobi sigh before replying.

“That's because I know you well, Adrian.  You're too good.  Also, when you have promised, you will always keep that promise without seeing the cause.  Where could I possibly let any dangerous creature capable of threatening the extinction of the human race live.  I also actually feel sorry for the creature disguised as Riri as I used to look at Sena.  But..”

Bobi was silent for a moment before continuing his words.

“That's how people.  When it comes to their lives, they will immediately show their claws and will do everything in their power to defend their lives.”

And that's the answer Bobi gave.
