26. The Monster at Bernard's Cake Shop

In an instant, the city of Jakarta, which had just experienced mass panic due to the Volt and Metallia, had regained its calm as if nothing had ever happened.  This is the power of humanity that is able to make us survive for millions of years on earth.  Disasters of any size, we will always be optimistic in meeting the future.

There are 111 days left to the destruction of mankind.  In order to prevent it, there were still 22 avatar monsters that had to be the target of extermination.  But now, the insecurities again gnawed at my heart.  In the last fight, I did not give any help to Kaiser.

It was Kaiser who single-handedly defeated the Volt and Metallia, rescued a hostage, and stopped the Instrument of Seven Sins thus thwarting Volt and Metallia's plan to destroy mankind.

As for me, I failed to carry out the simple task that Kak Kaiser had given me.  I could not save the other six hostages locked up in the other Six Instruments of the Seven Sins.  If only I had not let my guard down when the electric cage covering the entire city had vanished, at least one more hostage could I have saved.

I did not expect that sometime after the instrument seemed to have stopped working, the active instrument returned and sucked the life energy of the hostages to death.

That morning, with a limp body, I left for college.  Apparently the hoax news that made me mentally down was waiting for me there.

This is more or less the case with most news headlines both on the internet and in the newspapers that morning.  The entire campus, including all my friends in the lecture hall, was excited to talk about it.

And after what we did to save humanity, it is precisely this kind of recompense that we get.  Treated like a criminal.  I'm sick of all this.

And what the fuck with that Batboy (bat man) call.  Did they deliberately want to play the word to slip it with Badboy (bad man)?  Hah, it really makes me so sick.

But suddenly Bobi patted me on the shoulder and said,

“Adrian.  Look them.  None of them blasphemed the Red Blood Hero and his comrade.  We all know that these two heroes have been fighting desperately for the sake of mankind just like how the Red Blood Hero five years ago stopped a monster invasion in just two nights a day.”

I also looked around me.  True what Bobi said, most of my classmates gave opinions that the news was fake and the government tried to run a disguised scheme behind it.  That, it makes my heart happy.  At least my old friends, do not turn away from us.

However, I still wonder, who exactly initiated the hoax news to corner Kaiser's sister?  Is it true said Kaiser and Professor Melisa that there are avatars that have infiltrated the police and engineered all the events from behind the scenes?  If this is true, how did the monster do it?

Think about it, however, if they managed to infiltrate, even if they disguised themselves as the supreme leader on the police side though, the way they act that is too conspicuous will certainly invite protests from subordinates so that practically they will have difficulty controlling the opinion of the majority.

No matter how much the superior gave his instructions to brand the Red Blood Hero as a criminal, there would definitely be as little resistance from the subordinates as that.  But different than expected, the police atmosphere was too calm as if they all agreed to the hoax news.  How did all that happen?  It was all impossible unless that avatar monster had the ability to control the mind.

Unfortunately, because they were too focused on changing the appearance of their Head Pak that suddenly became strange and creepy, they were completely unaware when the ice needles pierced and seeped in through the back of their heads.

A moment later, they ended up becoming puppets of the Chief's man just like the rest of the police in that place who obeyed all his orders without resisting.

Adrian's instincts are right, the avatar monster who infiltrated the police force has the power to control the mind.  An ability that did not exist when Hoho games were launched.  One surprising fact is that the power of avatar monsters can apparently evolve once they appear in the real world.

From behind the shadow of the Chief who was none other than the old man who had talked to Fog, Freeze in the form of Faridh, Adrian's brother, appeared with a smile full of cunning.

That morning, when there were not many people in the campus area, Zenri was jogging there as one of his routine activities every morning.  The tired Zenri then rested in one corner of the park not far from his faculty area, just behind the Bernard Cake Shop.

Unexpectedly the earthquake is quite strong, but not too severe to cause a tsunami or landslide, he said, making Zenri surprised so immediately he stood up from his sleep in panic then immediately sought a field to evacuate.

It was there that he witnessed a child who was almost hit by broken window glass and sharp wood that fell from the fourth floor of the building where the Bernard Cake Shop was on the other floor, she was rescued by a female employee from the store.

But not only that.  Zenri also knew well the figure of the female employee who turned into the monster figure.  Because the female employees are often Zenri, Bobi, and Adrian meet every time shopping at their favorite cake shop.  One of three brothers who worked at the Bernard Cake Shop was dubbed the three flower sisters because of the beauty of their faces.  It's Riri.

No one witnessed the incident at that place other than Zenri about the child who was saved by the monster was falling unconscious.  Without making a sound full of panic and sweat that poured out, Zenri also chose to immediately run away from the place in a hurry without caring anymore about the earthquake that was happening.
