Mister Luo and Chien Wan walked after Fu Ming. They stepped down a narrow path and suddenly they faced a very wide and beautiful valley. The trees look lush and green interspersed by the luster of the colors of the flowers. The green grass covered the ground like a soft rug. Even the air there smelled good, unlike anywhere else.
Chien Wan looked around while walking. Amazed at the sight before him. The atmosphere there is very comfortable and quiet. But the goal is heard a voice that resonates beautifully like the sound of music. That beautiful voice sometimes appears gone. If Chien Wan puts up an ear, the sound is gone. However if Chien Wan did not think about it anymore, the voice appeared again.
“What sound is it?” Finally Chien Wan was unable to resist his curiosity.
Fu Ming smiled. “That sound of wind meeting from the four directions. Actually this valley is surrounded by hills. The wind bounces in all directions, causing a sound that resembles music. That is why this place is called Nada Valley,” he explained. Then he stopped in front of a magnificent building. “This is the residence of the Ouwyang Family.”
Mister Luo and Chien Wan stood staring at that large and sturdy building. That place is so charming. Beautiful and elegant in its simplicity. There were not many ornaments or carvings there, yet somehow, captivated the hearts of the people who looked at him.
Chien Wan instantly fell in love with that place!
As Chien Wan was being amazed, three silver figures dressed exactly as Fu Ming appeared.
“They are members of Four Other Silver Ponds,” Fu Ming said.
The three men saluted Master Luo; Lo Hian, the second person guarding the west gate; Kam Sien, the third person guarding the east gate; and Hauw Lam, the fourth person guarding the south gate.
The four of them invited Master Luo and Chien Wan in and asked them to wait in the large living room. The two were welcome to sit down while the Four Silver Tamburs entered to report the arrival of the guests.
Shortly afterwards came Mr. Ouwyang Kuan accompanied by Four Silver Tambur. Mr. Ouwyang Kuan was a man of about forty years old. His face is handsome and soft. He was dressed in golden and sparkling colors. Presumably the characteristics of the Nada Valley people are always dressed all sparkling.
Chien Wan stared at the man. There was a kind of personal attraction emanating from the man.
Mr. Luo grabbed Chien Wan's arm and pulled her up.
“How are you, Mr Ouwyang?” greet Master Luo while saluting. Chien Wan followed him. “I Luo Siu Man from Wisma Bamboo.”
Ouwyang Kuan smiled while replying in respect. “Do not hesitate, Mr. Luo. We are not far away. Miss Luo Sui She your sister used to be a Nada Valley disciple. So actually we still have family relations,” he said friendly. “Please sit.”
Mister Luo and Chien Wan were seated in their respective seats.
“Mr Luo, how is Miss Sui She?” ask Ouwyang Kuan. His tone sounded cautious.
Chien Wan was immediately on guard. He noticed the look on Ouwyang Kuan's face. Strange eyes and looks full of longing when he mentions ‘Nona Sui She’. This fact was not not seen by Mr. Luo either. But he did not want to mention Sui She, so he replied, “She is fine.”
Ouwyang Kuan smiled with relief. “Thank God,” he said. “O yes Mr Luo, what need have you come to Nada Valley? Can I help you?”
“Begini, Mr. Ouwyang,” said Mr. Luo, “my student is named Chien Wan. He is very talented in the field of music, especially flute. He can play a very beautiful song with his flute. I feel a pity if such a talent is left alone. So I brought him here with the intention of asking you to accept him to be a student.”
Hearing that, then Ouwyang Kuan's attention turned to Chien Wan. He looked at the young man's face with great attention. The quiet and dim-witted young man, he thought, looked weak and uninspired. But there was something in this young man that attracted Ouwyang Kuan and could barely take his eyes off Chien Wan.
He sighed. “Actually I myself am not a reliable distiller,” he admitted. “In this Tone Valley, everyone has musical ability with their respective specialties. I, for example, chose the harp to be the mainstay. The only reliable distiller in this place is my father Mr. Ouwyang Cu. Unfortunately my father has decided to isolate himself. He went for a life of wandering and did not want to accept any more disciples.”
Chien Wan was worried. He looked at Mr. Luo at a glance.
Master Luo frowned. “So how?”
Ouwyang Kuan smiled soothingly. “Will but here are many books about flute. I myself also understand a little musical instrument that one although not as smart as my father. I don't mind Chien Wan staying in Nada Valley.”
Master Luo smiled happily. “Quickly thank your teacher, Chien Wan!” tell it.
But before Chien Wan called ‘guru’, Ouwyang Kuan shook his head and said, “Don't call teacher. I'm not very good at blowing flutes, so I can't teach you. Call me Uncle Ouwyang!”
Chien Wan looked at Master Luo. Master Luo nodded.
“Thank you, Uncle,” Chien Wan said as he saluted.
Since then, Chien Wan has officially been accepted as a member of the Nada Valley. Four Silver Tambur became his brothers. They all liked him because he was quiet, did not talk much but was always diligent and obedient.
Mr. Luo stayed for two nights before finally returning to the Bamboo Guesthouse.
***
It had been five days that Chien Wan had been living in the Nada Valley. He had not had time to do anything but get acquainted with the other residents and explore to get to know the place more closely. All this time, he had only known Ouwyang Kuan—of course, the Four Silver Tambur, and the main servants. Chien Wan had never seen another Ouwyang family. He was somewhat surprised also because Ouwyang Kuan apparently did not have an escort.
That day, Chien Wan went to the foot of the hill to blow her flute. Now he has known well the Nada Valley and it turns out the place that feels most comfortable is at the foot of the hill near the southern gate of the Nada Valley. The atmosphere is calm there. The sound of wind there was somewhat different from elsewhere. He loved the sound of the wind and considered it suitable background music for his flute play.
He was bored and lonely. During these five days he only deepened his knowledge through books in the music library of the Valley of Nada. Ouwyang Kuan was serious about training him, but what he taught was the typical silat science of the Nada Valley. Science alleviates the body, the inner energy, and the strange silat movements, all of which contain musical elements. Typical Valley of Nada.
Today Chien Wan wants to be alone and blow her Black Bamboo Flute. He took a breath and started playing his own song. Chanting a song that is so beautiful and evocative of the tribe. Each flowing tone is a drop of dew that soaks the body's soul. Anyone who heard it would feel excited and carried away, as if flying into the virtual realm.
Chien Wan's feelings were washed away in the song she performed. Until the song ends and Chien Wan returns to the real world.
“Your photo is great!” There was a sound that was soft and beautiful.
Chien Wan looked down at the flute. “Thank you.”
Without hesitation, the girl sat down by Chien Wan's side. “Is the song your own creation?” tanyakanya.
Chien Wan nodded.
“You are very clever. Since when did you learn how to blow flute?” ask the girl again.
“Since six years ago,” replied Chien Wan briefly.
The girl looked at Chien Wan's flute. “Sulingmu is very good,” compliments. “You are really smart to be able to create such a good song. I learned to play the harp since I was a kid but I haven't been able to create a song like you.”
Chien Wan silently listened. He absorbed a beautiful voice and played like that music. How much he likes it!
The girl looked back at Chien Wan with a smile. “Someday, may I accompany your flute game with my harp?” her question was hopeful, her eyes full of earnestness.
Chien Wan could not refuse the girl's request. He felt very interested in the girl, but he did not know her. Slowly he nodded.
“Really?” exclaim the girl happily.
Chien Wan nodded again.
“So from now on you will train with me?”
“Ya,” says Chien Wan.
The girl's smile grew wider and brighter. “Oh, I'm so happy! Thank you!” pekiknya.
Chien Wan smiled slightly.
“What's your name?” the girl asked as if she had just realized that she did not know Chien Wan. “And why are you here? I never saw you?”
“I'm Chien Wan. I've only been here since five days ago.”
“Hm... I deserve never to see you,” muttered the girl. “For these five days I was told to train in the harp room, so we never met. I'm Ouwyang Ping. Mr. Ouwyang Kuan is my father.”
In his heart Chien Wan was somewhat shocked. So this girl who is so charming is the daughter of Ouwyang Kuan. Very friendly attitude, not at all arrogant and look down on others. She is the lady of the Nada Valley!
“You're here to learn music?” ask Ouwyang Ping.
Chien Wan nodded.
“Huh...” Ouwyang Ping complained. “You know, the situation in Nada Valley is now not what it used to be. No one mastered music deeply, especially distilled. Ever since my grandfather went into exile. My father now leads the Nada Valley, but not as great as grandfather. I mean, Dad does have a really great silat wit and a great harp picker, but not like grandpa.”
Chien Wan listened attentively to Ouwyang Ping's complaint.
“Said the servants, before I was born the Valley of Nada was very respected in the Holy World. But already a dozen years, we have always been isolated from the World of the Persilatan. The members of the Nada Valley never again took part in the martial World. My father tends to shut himself down.”
It's been a dozen years. Could this state of affairs have begun seventeen years ago, when an event occurred that caused Sui She to be mentally ill? Chien Wan. Is there a connection?
“Kak Wan?” tegur Ouwyang Ping wonder.
Chien Wan regained her senses and quickly refocused her attention on the girl.
“Now my father is more locked up in the Valley of Nada and never care about the affairs of the outside world. Good too, anyway. But sometimes I want to play to the city,” says Ouwyang Ping.
“Ping-er, are you bothering Chien Wan?”
Ouwyang Ping was surprised, then turned his head. Ouwyang Kuan approached them. The man's face was calm and friendly, looking very kind.
Chien Wan stood up. “Uncle,” sweep.
“So you've been acquainted with my daughter apparently,” Ouwyang Kuan's smile. “Yeah, he does talk a lot.”
“Dad!” sergeant Ouwyang Ping was timid.
“Ping-er, you can't be naughty with Chien Wan, huh? You have to respect him. You should call him brother. Now he is your older brother, “ said Ouwyang Kuan seriously.
“Uh, Dad!” gerutu Ouwyang Ping's. “Dad thinks I'm so naughty, huh? Dad don't worry, I'll respect Sister Wan, “ her promise.
Ouwyang Kuan smiled. He was happy because his daughter seemed to like Chien Wan. Actually Ouwyang Ping was indeed very lonely in the Valley of Nada. Therefore when he saw Chien Wan, Ouwyang Ping felt very happy.
Seriate.
