“Nona Ming?”
A Nan knocked on A Ming's room door. In his hand was a tray of hot food and a bowl of fine porridge for Sien Lung.
Doesn't sound legitimate.
A Nan frowned. “Any,” murmured slowly.
“What's up, A Nan?”
A Nan turned her head and saw Hauw Lam approaching. Suddenly, his heart rate became twice as fast. “Kakak Hauw.”
Hauw Lam approaching. “Did Miss Ming not want to go out?”
“Not only that.he didn't even say,” said A Nan.
Hauw Lam put his ear to the door. No sound at all. “No noise. Even the baby's voice was not heard.”
A Nan's face turned somewhat pale. He felt very anxious.
“Do-don't..”.
Without wasting time, Hauw Lam pushed the door to the room— which turned out to be easy to do because it was not blocked. They both went inside immediately. It turns out that their guesses are correct. The room was empty and clean like it had never been occupied.
A Nan put a tray on the table and hurriedly checked A Ming's closet. It was empty. There was not a single cloth there.
“She went...,” muttered A Nan anxiously.
Hauw Lam spread his gaze around the room. He saw something on the bed. Quickly he approached. It turned out to be a letter.
“A Nan!”
A Nan approached and looked at the letter in Hauw Lam's hand.
“We have to report this to Mr Chang!”
The two hurried off to meet Mr. Chang.
***
Mr. Chang sat languidly in the living room chair. A Ming's letter crumpled him furiously. He doesn't think out. Why is his niece so elusive? What exactly happened to A Ming? Why didn't he just accept Mr Chang's decision to bring him back to Peacock Hill?
Now A Ming is gone. In his letter he only expressed his apology for not being a filial son. He also said that he would find a better way for his son Sien Lung.
Fei Yu walked back and forth while grumbling in annoyance. He also did not think. His cousin is a strange person! The one who does not know is dear, it means in the heart.
Swordsman Sung walked into the living room followed by Sen Khang and Chien Wan.
“A Ming go?” ask Pendekar Sung directly.
Without saying a word, Mr. Chang passed the tangled letter A Ming into the hands of Swordsman Sung.
Swordsman Sung read it in his heart quickly.
“I don't understand!” fei Yu's growl couldn't take it anymore. “Why is A Ming so difficult to set up?”
“The boy really doesn't know himself!” grunted Mr. Chang, the beaver mingled sadly. “Didn't he realize that his departure wasn't a good way out? He just makes us all sad and confused thinking about him!”
“Already, Brother Chang.” Swordsman Sung sighed. He also does not know how to. A Ming was her brother's daughter. However the girl was closer to Mr. Chang. If Mr Chang doesn't understand him, what else does he?
“Maybe he's shy,” muttered Chien Wan slowly.
“Temple?” ask Sen Khang in wonder.
Fei Yu looked at Chien Wan and suddenly he understood. He sighed loudly. “A Ming always blamed himself for the events that befell the Luo Family and his father. She also felt guilty for the incident that befell Ting Ting. Plus he has that son of a bitch. Obviously he's ashamed of all of us!”
“And his shame grew even greater after Sen Khang saved him. She felt indebted and it made her depressed!” keep up Pendekar Sung got it.
Sen Khang frowned. “I never blame her,” she said.
“Of course not!” fei Yu's nod. “He blames himself!”
“We look for him slowly. Hopefully after his mind is clear, he wants to go back to Bukit Merak and forget everything,” said Pendekar Sung.
The others nodded.
A Ming's departure made all sad and worried. Especially because they were afraid that Chi Meng Huan's entourage would find the woman and harm her. A Ming was extremely weak from the poison that attacked him a while ago. If Chi Meng Huan's entourage found him, he would not be able to defend himself.
“Are we going to look for A Ming?” ting Ting asked Fei Yu that night, as they were alone.
Fei Yu nodded. “Father will spread our men all over Tionggoan and look for A Ming. But what I hope most is that he is aware of his own mistakes and returns to Bukit Merak on his own will.”
“Poor him,” murmured Ting Ting.
“Do you mind if he stays with us at Bukit Merak?” ask Fei Yu.
“Of course not!”
“Even if his son becomes our child's playmate?”
“Ya.” Ting Ting sighed. “Whatever evil Chi Meng Huan is, the boy is innocent. It's unfair that he was the target of our anger against his father.”
“You are very kind,” praise Fei Yu.
Ting Ting's face flushed. “You're the good one,” reply.
Fei Yu grabbed his wife and hugged her.
***
A Ming strolled along the path. Both of her hands hugged her baby tightly as if not wanting to let go of the item for a moment. Her appearance is tangled, so that people who cross paths with her think she is a woman who is less sane. It keeps him from being shunned by people.
And it benefits him. He really doesn't want to meet anyone. He doesn't want to be asked by anyone. He wants to be alone and think about his decision carefully. And he has got a fix.
She and the baby must die!
The road is getting stifled because he is now climbing the hills. He knew this area because he had passed it with his uncle and cousin in happy times first. He remembered that around here there was a chasm that was quite steep.
His uncle had told him not to get close to the abyss. No one ever survived falling into that steep ravine. The bottom of the gorge is not sea water or rivers, but barren land filled with sharp corals. It is certain, anyone who falls will directly hit the corals and die instantly without feeling pain again.
It was the kind of death that A Ming wanted for his son. The baby must die without suffering first. And that sharp coral will help him carry out his intentions.
A Ming was panting heavily when he arrived at the edge of that steep ravine. He rested to relieve his fatigue. She sat down and breastfed her baby, who was crying in the meantime.
“This is your last meal, my son,” said it while shedding tears. “After this, we will both leave this world for eternity.”
Sien Lung sucks her mother's milk greedily. There was an adorable clucking and gurgling sound. His pair of clear round eyes looked at his mother with confidence. His face was so sweet and handsome, without even a hint of cunning there.
“Do not blame Mother, Son. Mom should do it...”.
Sien Lung had finished breastfeeding and A Ming covered his chest with clothes. With a shawl, she tied her baby's body tightly to her chest. Thus, they will not be separated. Then he stood up and stepped to the edge of the abyss.
Sien Lung started to fidget and ended up crying loudly. It was as if he understood what his mother was trying to do. It was as if he was protesting his mother's decision to take his life.
“Don't make things difficult for me, son. We will meet again there,” persuaded A Ming while fondling his son, trying to silence his tears.
But the baby's cry grew louder.
A Ming was getting closer to the edge of the abyss.
His feet reached the edge and he began to prepare to jump. His body is starting to collapse.
“Pardon Mom, Sien Lung!”
A Ming jumped up and his body started to fall. He had no idea what happened next. A shadow figure flashed with incredible speed and caught the bodies of the two of them.
“Sia...?”
A Ming's question was unresolved as a tootokan floated to the point of his blood path, knocking him unconscious. Then the figure floated up while carrying the two of them avoiding the abyss.
