Death Flute

Death Flute
The Chief Resigns

After the antidote potion was finished, Sen Khang distributed it to all the members of the Butterfly Party who were exposed to the poison. Almost all of them were poisoned so Sen Khang needed enough medicinal leaves and roots to make an antidote. Fortunately, enough so that everything was part of it.

The warriors deliberately did not return directly to their respective residences because they wanted to see the extent to which the Butterfly Party needed their help.

Wie Yun Cun and Lan Sie had already been thrown into prison together with their men. They are waiting for the next decision to be made by the chairman. They are very angry and upset. They were also very sorry for hearing Cheng Sam's incitement to betray their party.

Sam Hui returned to his post as vice chairman. All the misunderstandings between him and Chairman Wu and the rest of the party had already been resolved.

After two days, all the party members had recovered and they had already returned to their respective duties.

Just then, Swordsman Sung said something that shocked them all:

“As you all know, I've held the post of Chairman of the General Assembly for almost twenty years. It is enough for me to carry out my duties. I'm not young anymore. I want to calm down. So I decided to hand over this post to another more deserving candidate.”

The entire room became boisterous hearing all of this. No one expected it. During this time when there is someone who mentions the Chief of the Press, all immediately think of Swordsman Sung. No one expected that actually Pendekar Sung himself was tired of carrying out his obligations.

“Then what will you do?” ask Pendekar Lei.

“I will hold a match for this title. The match will be held at the Golden Chicken Hill. I'm preparing everything and that match will take me about four months.”

“Have you thought about it carefully?” ask Pendekar Fu worried.

Swordsman Sung nodded steadily.

“You have a strong candidate for this post?” ask Chairman Wu with interest.

Swordsman Sung's smile expanded and nodded. “I thought of some names. But we'll see later.”

“How is the match?”

“Searching for the strongest. One person is challenged by another. It is not an ordinary system.” Swordsman Sung stroked his chin. “But in my opinion, that way can be considered as the fairest way.”

Everyone nodding.

“Four more months..,” murmured Pendekar Fu. “What's not too fast?”

“I don't think so,” interrupted Swordsman Sung. “In these four months we can start spreading this news all over the country and they have enough time to attend.”

“It feels strange if the Head of the Press is not you,” commented Sen Khang.

Swordsman Sung smiled. “This life keeps turning, Sen Khang. Sometimes above and sometimes below. It is not a good thing if one continues to be at the top only or below only. I've been the Chief of the Army for a long time. Ever since I was young, I never had time for myself. Even my son became that stupid because I never paid his full attention to him.” He sighed. “It's time I quit.”

During that conversation, Chien Wan was silent. He was always confused if everyone was gathering like that.

***

Later that night, Chien Wan and Kui Fang were sitting together in a flower garden. Dozens of types of butterflies surround them because they are affected by the fragrant variety of flowers that grow in the park. The butterfly did not disturb the pair of lovebirds who were talking quietly. Instead, they became a sweet backdrop for both.

Kui Fang asked Chien Wan to tell her about Ting Ting and Fei Yu's marriage. So Chien Wan said it briefly and clearly. He did not ramble about how beautiful the bride and how handsome the bridegroom was, nor did he express with flowery language the beauty of the atmosphere that occurred on the wedding night. All it tells is that the marriage went well and nothing less.

“Thank God you can come just in time, Sister Wan. Otherwise..” Kui Fang shook his head sadly.

“Actually I was near you before that meeting. I watch everyone's movements while protecting you. Unfortunately I neglected to watch the kitchen so that you all got poisoned,” explained Chien Wan.

“Oh? Really?”

Chien Wan nodded. “Yesterday night you saw a shadow near your room, right?”

“So it's you!” exclaim Kui Fang happily. “I was scared that time. I thought the shadow was a ghost.”

“I'm sorry if I scare you.” Chien Wan stared regretfully. He held the girl's hand gently.

Kui Fang looked at the young man affectionately.

“How are your parents? And A Lee?” ask Kui Fang.

“Dad and Mom are fine. They send greetings to you,” replied Chien Wan. “By A Lee... The boy is now getting nimble and naughty.”

“A Lee will definitely be very similar to Grandpa Ouwyang,” laughs Kui Fang. “Now it's similar, kok.”

Chien Wan smiled in agreement.

“But, the skin is a bit dark, huh? Darker than you and Ping-er.”

Chien Wan nodded back. “Grandfather said, his dark skin was similar to my late great-grandfather.”

“O, so it seems.”

Chien Wan exhaled. “I hope he will lead Nada Valley at a later date.”

Kui Fang looked at her attentively.

“I'm not talented to be a leader. Nada Valley will not advance if led by me,” continued Chien Wan.

“Then, what does Grandpa think?’

“Grandfather didn't say anything. But deep down, I'm sure he also knew that I wasn't fit to be a master. We will educate A Lee as hard as we can. Nada Valley will be his.”

Kui Fang gently touched the young man's arm. His smile seemed innocent and soothing.

“You don't mind if I don't become Nada Valley Master?” ask Chien Wan slowly.

Kui Fang shook his head. “For me, all the decisions that make you happy, are also my happiness. Don't think I'm with you just because of your standing as the future heir to the Nada Valley, Brother Wan. It insulted me.”

“I'm sorry.”

The fingers of the two are closely interlocked, signifying the connection of the two hearts that love each other. They said nothing else next. Just shut up while holding hands and looking at each other. It felt like the world belonged to both. They don't need anything or anyone as long as they can be together.

Deheman loudly made both of them aware. Immediately the two let go of each other's grasp. Kui Fang's face was red when he noticed that near the peach blossom tree near them was Mr. Ouwyang Cu. I don't know since when the old man was standing there listening to their conversation.

Mr. Ouwyang's face looked stiff, yet his pair of eyes flashed mischievously. He did not feel sorry for disturbing the affection of the lovers.

“Grandpa!” greet Chien Wan and Kui Fang together.

Mr. Ouwyang approached them and ruffled his waist.

“Basic you!” tuan Ouwyang to his grandson. “Do not want to be the Nada Valley Employer. Huh!”

Chien Wan grimaced.

“And you.” Mr. Ouwyang glanced at Kui Fang. “Not to persuade Chien Wan to want to inherit the Nada Valley, eh instead support it.”

Kui Fang was wrong.

“Do not listen!”

Siu Hung jumped out of nowhere nearing them.

“Do not interfere!” furious Mr. Ouwyang.

Siu Hung won't lose. He glared at Mr. Ouwyang. “Grandfather don't force the will! Aren't you the one who told me to practice the Celestial Light so I could pass it on to A Lee? So he can become the Nada Valley Master if you are no more!”

Mr. Ouwyang scowled.

Siu Hung turned around and looked at Kui Fang. “You don't listen to him! He's a bad mouth. Actually he already knew that Big Brother Ouwyang did not want to become the Nada Valley Master. He just wants to tease you! You flirtatious Grandpa! Can't see pretty girl!” his nag.

Kui Fang gaped, then laughed.

Mr. Ouwyang's old face instantly turned red. He glared at his poor student.

Chien Wan actually knew that already. But hearing those words from Siu Hung's mouth made him smile as well.

“O yes, Grandpa. Until now I have not understood why Grandpa came here with Siu Hung, Sen Khang, and Ping-er. Didn't Grandpa say he was going back to the Nada Valley. And isn't Sen Khang and Ping-er now needed at the Bamboo guesthouse?” chien Wan asked seriously.

“I have a bad feeling about you,” elak Mr. Ouwyang.

“Hah! Hunch!” Siu Hung exclaimed. “He came here wanting to ask for Silver Butterfly honey juice! Said honey juice it can to make ageless.”

“Hush!” Mr. Ouwyang clenched Siu Hung's forehead.

Chien Wan and Kui Fang looked at.

“Sari honey Silver Butterfly is indeed found here, Cake. In large numbers as well. But I just found out that the liquid can make you youthful,” said Kui Fang.

“How about Sen Khang and Ping-er?” chien Wan asked Siu Hung.

“We met on the road. Brother Luo and Ping-er were about to go here as well to meet you.”

“You have a lot?” ask Mr. Ouwyang to Kui Fang. His face was gleaming with joy. “I drank it when I was young. At that time Silver Butterflies were still many. But now it is very rare. Many people know that drinking the liquid squeezed from the butterfly body can prolong life and make you young. Wonderful you don't know.”

“Because we drink it as a party drink.”

Mr. Ouwyang snorted in envy. “Other people take pains to get that liquid. You guys drink it as a party drink?”

“I'll get it for us to drink now,” said Kui Fang. “Siu Hung, help me huh?”

“Good!”

Mr. Ouwyang and Chien Wan sat in the park chair waiting for the arrival of the two girls.

They watched as a group of silver-colored butterflies flashed to illuminate the night. Their arrival was followed by a group of other butterflies of various colors. How beautiful that view is.

“Just right they enjoy it as a party drink. It turns out that here the number of butterflies is thousands!” gerutu Mr. Ouwyang.

Kui Fang and Siu Hung returned with a jar of honey liquid and a few cups.

The two girls were busy pouring honey juice into each cup and sharing it.

“Return!” said Mr. Ouwyang with a thunderous voice.

Everyone drank the drink happily.

“Enak once!” siu Hung said in admiration.

“What I said!” said Mr. Ouwyang satisfied.

Only Chien Wan could feel nothing. For him the drink was no different from ordinary water, only thicker and smelled fragrant.

“In fact to get that liquid, there is no need to squeeze the butterfly, Cake.” Kui Fang waved his hand and a silver-colored butterfly perched on his fingertips. The belly of the butterfly was bulging a sign full of fluid. He rubbed his fingertips on the belly of the butterfly. The butterfly squirms and its wings flap vibrating. Then came a golden liquid from one part of his body. Kui Fang lifted the jar and held it. Then he let the butterfly fly back.

"Gee!” Mr. Ouwyang exclaimed as he smacked his fist into the palm of the hand. “If only we were not so stupid, surely the number of Silver Butterflies still remains a lot until now!”

“Finally you admit you're stupid,” muttered Siu Hung while sipping back his drink.

“What?” mister Ouwyang.

“It's okay!”

Soon enough, the drink was gone. Kui Fang and Siu Hung returned the jars and cups to the kitchen. Then they continued their conversation.
