Death Flute
Take care of Uncle Khung

Uncle Khung lay on his bed inside the hut with a thick blanket sheathed. He shivered and kept on chanting Chien Wan's name. His face was pale and his eyes closed. He rejected the healer, as well as the medicine made by Master Luo. It's really sad.

Since he refused to be transferred to the Bamboo House and insisted on staying in the cottage, Mr. Luo had a servant accompany him. But Uncle Khung is very stubborn. He did not allow the waiter to stay.

Just then, Ting Ting and Meng Huan visited him.

Ting Ting had cooked sweet potato porridge for Uncle Khung. He heard that Uncle Khung had no appetite, so he deliberately made delicious porridge specifically to provoke the appetite of Uncle Khung.

“Uncle, let's eat first,” persuade Ting Ting.

“No, Miss...” reject Uncle Khung with trembling voice.

“Uncle, this porridge is sweet and tasty. Ting Ting made it special for Uncle,” chimps Meng Huan.

Uncle Khung shook his head again.

Ting Ting and Meng Huan looked worriedly.

Meng Huan looked around the small cottage. The place looked dark and cramped. Any sick person would have no trouble staying in a place like this. He shook his head. “Uncle, we'd better take Uncle to the mother house. It's more comfortable there. We can easily approach Uncle whenever Uncle calls.”

“Not need...”.

“Kakak Huan is right, Uncle. It's very cramped here. How can Uncle recover quickly?” add Ting Ting.

“Chien Wan's... Chien Wan's..”.

Ting Ting and Meng Huan looked back.

The male servant waiting for Uncle Khung approached. “Always put it this way, Miss, Young Master. Uncle Khung always called Chien Wan,” he reported.

Meng Huan approached. “Uncle, Chien Wan will be home soon,” said.

Uncle Khung's eyes were beaming. “Betul?”

“Betul, Uncle. Uncle don't worry. Sen Khang is picking him up now.”

Uncle Khung's face remained deathly pale, but his pair of eyes twinkled. He finally wanted to eat sweet potato porridge until it ran out and drank the medicine with pleasure, making the two young people relieved.

After Uncle Khung slept, Ting Ting and Meng Huan left the cabin.

“Huan's sister how?” Ting Ting frowned. “Not necessarily Brother Wan is allowed to go by the people of Nada Valley. You promised Uncle Khung his arrival. If Sister Wan does not come too how?”

Meng Huan took a breath. “How else?” his weakness. “If you don't say that, Uncle Khung won't eat and take medicine. Hastening a little is okay, the important thing is that he improves.”

Ting Ting looked troubled.

“Then, it's okay. Chien Wan must be home!” meng Huan said soothingly.

“Are you sure?”

“Of course!”

***

Meng Huan's beliefs were not nonsense. As he and Ting Ting went to the cottage and were busy persuading Uncle Khung, Chien Wan and Sen Khang had arrived on the face of the Bamboo Forest.

“We go directly to Uncle Khung's cottage only!” sen Khang.

Chien Wan shook her head. “I'd better go there. You go tell your fathers.”

“Good.”

They split. Sen Khang went straight to his house to report Chien Wan's arrival to his father and mother. And Chien Wan immediately stepped wide towards Uncle Khung's cottage.

Upon arrival at the cottage, Chien Wan went straight inside and passed by the waiter.

“Chien Wan!”

“How is Uncle Khung, A Kui?” asked Chien Wan without further ado.

“Will he eat medicine?”

“Content only today. Miss Ting Ting came to bring food and medicine. Uncle Khung did not want to eat and did not want to take his medicine. Good thing Young Master Huan said you'll be home soon, so Uncle wants to take medicine,” A Kui's story is excited.

Chien Wan nodded.

“You just arrived? Why not rest first?”

“Not necessary. You better go home to the mother house. I'll wait for Uncle Khung,” tell Chien Wan smooth.

“Alright,” says A Kui relieved. “Actually I myself do not like it here,” whispered. “Sometimes I smell bad from Uncle Khung's room.”

Chien Wan's forehead wrinkled. “A bad smell?”

“Yes. But I'm not sure myself, because the smell is only vague.”

“Ya. Let me wait for him.”

A Kui left.

Chien Wan stepped slowly into Uncle Khung's room. During his years of visits to Uncle Khung's cottage, he never entered his room. He was always in front of the hut, the farthest only until the front room. His nose caught an unpleasant smell.

Because the sense of taste does not work, automatically the other senses become very sharp, including smell. What A Kui described as a faint unpleasant smell, he could feel as the smell of burning raw rubber. His forehead wrinkled. Why is this kind of smell in Uncle Khung's room?

Slowly he opened the door to Uncle Khung's room. The smell was getting stronger, but Chien Wan no longer cared about it. He saw Uncle Khung lying in layers of thick blankets, sleeping soundly.

Chien Wan's heart breaks. Uncle Khung looked weak and old. He approached and sat down in a chair near the bed.

Chien Wan sat there waiting for Uncle Khung to sleep for about an hour. Then Uncle Khung opened his eyes. He looks very surprised. Her eyes widened.

“Chien... Wan?”

Chien Wan clasped Uncle Khung's hand tightly. “Paman.”

“You.... You're home..?”.

“Ya, Uncle. I'll now take care of Uncle.” Chien Wan corrected the revealing blankets of Uncle Khung.

“Mr Ouwyang lets you go?”

“Ya.”

“How about your lover? Is he coming?”

“No.”

“Sgratitude.” Uncle Khung tried to sit down. “I want to say...”.

“Uncle Khung!”

Uncle Khung's words were cut off. For a moment, a sinister expression appeared in Uncle Khung's eyes. He seemed very frustrated by the disturbance. But no one saw that flash.

Sen Khang appeared followed by Meng Huan and Mister Luo.

Mr. Luo hurried over. “Nah, Uncle Khung. Chien Wan is home now. Hows it? Still insist on not being moved to the parent house?”

Uncle Khung looked at them, then Chien Wan stared at him. A decision flashed in his eyes and he nodded. “Good. But... place me behind so as not to disturb.”

“Sesukamulah.” Master Luo smiled in relief. “Let's bring Uncle Khung.”

“Let me only, Mr.”

Chien Wan's words were spoken slowly but firmly, so that the others could not refute him. He let Chien Wan lean Uncle Khung on his back. They all went to the mother house immediately.

Chien Wan stepped in with firm steps. Uncle Khung closed his eyes, a single tear running down his cheek. You're an adult now, Chien Wan. It's time you found out all this truth. Forgive all my mistakes…
