Death Flute

Death Flute
The Flowering Heart

Kui Fang lay on his bed to rest his tired body from walking too much. But even though his body was tired, his mind continued to spin rapidly. He thought about all the events he had experienced in recent times. And strangely, he could not remember when he did not think of Chien Wan.

He had only known Chien Wan for a few months, and had only been traveling with Chien Wan for a while. He doesn't know anything about Chien Wan's past. He did not know if Chien Wan had ever been in a relationship with another girl or not. He also did not know very well how the Chien Wan family was.

There were some things he did not understand about the Ouwyang family relationship. He often thought how different Chien Wan was from Ouwyang Ping. Even though the brothers, why are their faces not at all similar? And also about Chien Wan's younger brother named A Lee. He had never seen A Lee, but said the boy was only a year old. How can Chien Wan's parents have more children after their other two children have grown up?

But that didn't stop her from trusting Chien Wan so much. He himself did not understand why he could have such a strong belief about Chien Wan, while everyone else—even his own sister— did not believe it. He does not understand the excitement of his own feelings while with Chien Wan. He did not understand his own suffering when he was far away from Chien Wan. He also did not understand the strength of his desire to make Chien Wan's good name back clean.

Is this what is called love?

Kui Fang's face was blushing.

During his life, only this time did he feel this kind of feeling. He was very happy, but also anxious.

What if Chien Wan doesn't want her love? What if his love doesn't make Chien Wan happy?

Kui Fang sighed.

He got up from his bed and went out of the room. The steps are slow and do not make a sound. Chien Wan was in the next room, and the slightest movement would be heard by him because his hearing was so sharp— as compensation from his malfunctioning senses.

He opened the room door carefully and was stunned to see a figure in black standing leaning against the pillar, behind him.

“Kak Wan?”

Chien Wan turned around and smiled. “You haven't slept?”

“Kak Wan herself, why is it here?”

Chien Wan sighed. He did not want to say that he was worried about the state of Kui Fang. That all this time actually he had been waiting for a while in front of the door of the room where Kui Fang slept, just to make sure it was safe and no interference would hurt the girl.

“Kak Wan?”

“It's okay. I just can't sleep.”

Kui Fang smiled nervously. “You chat?”

Chien Wan shook her head. “You'd better sleep. We walked quite far. You must be tired.”

“I'm not tired.”

Seeing that the girl looked fresh and not sleepy in the slightest, Chien Wan did not urge. He stepped into the small garden in front of their adjoining room. Kui Fang followed him.

For a few moments they were silent. That night was not bright. Dark clouds filled the sky, covering the starlight. Occasionally a rumbling sound was heard in the sky.

“It will rain soon,” Chien Wan said as she stared at space.

Kui Fang smiled. “I like rain.”

“Yes, but you don't want to get wet either, do you? You better go back to the room,” tell Chien Wan.

“Kan has not descended.”

Chien Wan didn't force him.

Kui Fang engaged both of his arms around his body as he felt the cold night air start to make him shiver. Chien Wan looked at him and without saying a word he removed his black robe. He stood up and covered the girl's shoulder with his robe.

The girl looked up. His eyes filled with tenderness. His hand extended to his own shoulder as he felt Chien Wan's hand there. He touched the big hand on his shoulder gently and trembled slightly. His smile was doubtful.

Chien Wan looked down and looked at the girl. He's not smiling. A glimmer of profound feeling flashed in his eyes. But he quickly averted his gaze and removed his hand from the girl's touch. He sat back on his stool and took out his flute.

Kui Fang sat up with his chin supported to see Chien Wan blowing her flute. He enjoyed the soft song that Chien Wan was blowing. The breeze froze him and the song was like lulling him. His pair of eyes began to weigh heavily and slowly closed. His head was on the stone table.

He's asleep.

Chien Wan took a breath and stopped her flute play. The sky is getting darker. A speck of rain began to fall on his hand, followed by other small dots. He stood up and bowed over Kui Fang's body. He carefully lifted the girl's body and carried her into the room.

He put the girl on the bed and covered her.

Chien Wan looked at him with great affection. He smiled slightly and corrected the layout of the Kui Fang blanket. His hands stretched out and put away the strand of hair that covered the girl's tiny face. The touch of the smooth cheek was fleeting. Then he came out.

Kui Fang's eyes were wide open. He touched his own red cheek.

“Kakak Wan..

Pendekar Sung was in the reading room, reading a letter sent by a silat college in the north. His frown was trying to absorb this information.

Chien Wan and Kui Fang entered. They immediately watch out for the look on Pendekar Sung's face that looks serious.

“Uncle Sung, what is it?” ask Kui Fang directly.

Swordsman Sung turned his attention away from the letter he was reading. He looked at the two young men and waved them to sit down. He himself approached to sit with them.

“I received a letter from Pendekar Yang, one of the elders of Red Eagle College. He pleaded for help to expel a group of people who came to destroy their college. Swordsman Yang and his comrades could not handle them because they lost their knowledge. Now the headquarters of the college is occupied by them and some important members are taken hostage,” Pendekar Sung said seriously.

“What is Cheng Sam's entourage?” ask Chien Wan for a moment.

“It doesn't seem. In his letter there is no mention. Just mentioned that they are unknown people.”

“Decars Who are alone now how, Uncle?” ask Kui Fang.

“Said he and his men were hiding not far from the headquarters, waiting for the right moment to free their chief.”

“So their chairman is taken hostage?”

“Yes. The head of the college was named Kam Meng Siu. He and his family were taken captive by that entourage.”

“Uncle intends to help them?” ask Kui Fang.

“It's my duty. I will prepare my men and contact other warriors who can help,” said Pendekar Sung.

“We'd better get there first,” said Chien Wan.

Swordsman Sung frowned. “How are you? Aren't you guys looking for Cheng Sam? Never mind. This matter should be handled by us. You guys better go find that clue.”

“Sister Wan suspects the criminal gang has something to do with Cheng Sam,” interrupted Kui Fang.

“Really?” Swordsman Sung asked doubtfully.

Chien Wan nodded. Want to not be amazed by Kui Fang's understanding of his way of thinking.

“Hm!” Swordsman Sung nodded. “Then be well. You guys go now. The location of the college is not too far from Bukit Merak. Through the forest to the north.”

Chien Wan's eyes glinted. Just a glance so Pendekar Sung thought it was just his imagination.

Chien Wan and Kui Fang returned to their rooms to tidy up their belongings and immediately went towards the place that Swordsman Sung meant.

They walk at fast pace.

“Sister Wan, are you sure they have something to do with Cheng Sam?”

“See from the location of the college, there is a possibility so. There was no way Cheng Sam could disappear so easily without a trace. He must have been hiding somewhere close after sneaking into Merak Hill.”

“But in the letter, Swordsman Yang did not say that person was Cheng Sam!”

“Decenders who may not know him. Or maybe he was undercover. You remember she could make a disguise?”

Kui Fang instantly recalled that and grimaced. He did not ask any more and let Chien Wan silently think about the various possibilities that were raging in his mind.
