Azira once again looked towards her husband who was busy at work. His mouth moved several times wanting to say something but he hesitated. Besides not wanting to interfere with her husband's work, she was also afraid that her husband would refuse.
Thought again. He finally decided not to say anything.
It's also a trivial matter. Inner Azira seeks justification.
He wanted to tell Kenzie the background of his life but he had many doubts in his heart. Talking to Kenzie is not as easy as talking to Sasa.
Sasa is like a close friend but Kenzie is an object pdkt. Their relationship is still far from 'together' like a married couple who share a life together. Maybe it will be there but for now it is not.
"Where are you going?" Kenzie asked without raising his head.
Azira bit her lip.
"You're looking for Umi downstairs." Answer Azira.
Kenzie. His flat face did not show any ripples.
"Hem."
Once allowed to go Azira directly out of the room and down to look for Umi. Abah and Umi were in the front room talking about something. It must be something fun because from afar Azira could hear the crisp sound of Umi's laughter.
"Mom, Abah." Azira interrupts at the right time.
"Oh, Azira. Come here, son." Umi patted the side beside her.
Azira obediently sat there.
"Umi, Abah, I want to ask you for permission." Azira spoke carefully.
Umi and Abah now focus on looking at their son-in-law. Feeling very nervous to be noticed by the two of them, Azira twisted her clothes.
Doubtful, Azira ventured to speak to her in-laws.
"I'm going to my mom's place, Umi. Coincidentally today is the 40th day my mother left. I miss him and I want to go see him. Can I go in the afternoon?"
When hearing Azira's simple request, both Umi and Abah looked at each other, they felt sorry for him. They knew that Azira had just lost the most important person in her life in this world.
"Of course you can, son. But who did you go with?"
Azira had been willing to answer alone but Kenzie's heavy voice first interrupted him.
"We'll go both, Umi. I purposely didn't go to work today so I could accompany her to Mom's place. I also happen to want to meet my mother and be happy with her. Isn't that Azira?"
Kenzie came from behind. She sat down beside Azira and grabbed her slender waist with a very natural demeanor. When he felt the body in his arms stiffen, a thin line formed on Kenzie's lips.
"Azira?" Kenzie lowered his head looking at Azira.
Azira stunned. Panicking, he instantly turned his eyes in another direction while regulating the sound of his heartbeat racing back strongly.
"Yes-yes, Kenzie's right. We'll both go see Mom later in the afternoon. Thank goodness you let us go. What...do Abah and Umi want to take something outside? We'll take the time to buy it when we get home." Azira said in a stammered voice from nervousness.
Umi sees her daughter-in-law look wrong because of Kenzie's unexpected attitude. Just like Azira, she was somewhat shocked to see Kenzie's sudden action.
Their relationship turned out to be very good. Inner Umi grateful.
"No, Umi doesn't want anything. Everything is at home. The point is you guys should be careful outside and don't come home too late." Umi said.
Usually, the couple does not go home immediately if they go out. They must play games first outside and go home after being satisfied to play outside. Umi is not surprised because young couples usually like this.
